Don't Look Back - 2022/2023 Bombers Off Season

Feel like guys like him are 1 polished move and some hand fighting skill away from being a rotational nfl player. But it also seems like the art of pass rushing is an art no one really teaches any more. -
Don't Look Back - 2022/2023 Bombers Off Season

Dixon looks versatile. Love seeing a lber who is effective blitzing. Taylor is an interesting potential blue chip book end prospect. The good: he had a monster two years and declared early for the nfl draft but went un picked and got no tc invites. 2021 he had 6.5 sacks 33 tackles 7.5 tfl a pass knock down and 8 hurries in 13 starts. In 2022 he had 42 tackles, 9.5 sacks 2 ff and 3 knock downs. He’s also a monster athlete. 22 reps at 225, 36” vert 9’4 broad jump he pulled his hammy running the 40 at his pro day, and still ran a blistering 4.63. His agent put out a video of him prepping for the pro day with alleged 40 times of 4.38 and 4.3 flat. I don’t buy it for a second but allegedly the video was big on tik tok or some thing. The old axiom for converting manual and electric times is +.26 seconds which would make a lot more sense him being in the mid to high 4.5s. Which is still pretty crazy. the catch and reason he didn’t get an nfl sniff? he rostered at 6’1 and 246 but at his pro day was 5’11 240. -
You’re both right, Saskatchewan is like Florida away from the coast. The same draft experts then lampoon teams that take the best player when they already have a good player at that position. The worst thing to do with a draft pick in any league or sport is to pick a guy who won’t get the reps he needs to grow. If you draft a guy at a position of strength you end up with a guy stapled to the bench. May as well just forfeit the pick.

For sure. Especially with soo many teams guys from this draft class. Pretty sure every guy we drafted will be in camp this year and don’t have eligibility left. -

Damn that sucks. Both those kids looked real good in limited play last year. Really wanted to see both develop. with the weather hitting plus 20 this week as long as it stays warm ish the beaches should be good by then. Love both those spots. off season rules still in effect imo. As long as we keep the rookie camp, tc and regular season threads clean. We are super close to that point which is fantastic. -
That’s America’s Saskatchewan

Mini woli, and Rosery sounds like a poor man’s demski.

Seems to do a very good job keeping the ol hands off him and disengaging. That’s critical at any size de but especially for an under sized guy. -

For sure light and the oldest guy in the class. But if he was 250lbs and younger he’d an either been nfl bound or in the first picks. -
Another teams prospect. Gonna be a real battle in camp for kick cover spots. Not expecting to see futures or ol at this point
-
So far picks looks good. I like Bennetts potential fit. Rotational pass rusher behind a di and hansen play some teams. But old and a bit light. high upside athletic db who could also play teams in Kelly. Murphy seems like mini woli. schmekel drips that nasty hard nosed mafia type. would love to see some futures picks.

Improved health from jj and kyrie, plus an actual nose tackle if he pans out, that secondary plus the horses to rotate jj and Wj again and you have the makings of a very scary D. -

Sure like the secondary. Wish ford was still here though. weren’t we flipping adamson to ol as well? I think 6 imps 7 ni and 1 global is pretty strong depth for camp. It’s a perfect time to take a flyer on a futures nfl guy. And mini camp. Bout frickin time for some football! -
Hard to be a great class with a record number of Canadian nfl draftees. I think teams making the best out of drafts like this is what winning is based on. Boy we are going to have a lot of punters in camp. Been a lot of debate about the roi of using a di on a kicker, but if you can split the three jobs with a Canadian and a global that’s probably the 2nd best option to have one ni that does it all. Legs over all did really well punting and kicking off but struggled late and had some all too frequent flubs. Should be pretty reasonable to have one of these guys with a big leg to push him, maybe take the weight of punting and kicking off or be able to come in mid season to let legs focus on one job. I wonder if last years guys will be in camp too Hackett basically just had real life line up poorly with the brief work stoppage 100% agree. I feel like a few of the lotto ticket type nfl prospects will pay off in the long term. I feel like despite being weaker it lines up pretty good for us.

He’s the anti lapolice. Utterly un likeable, piss poor player coach, talented play caller. Even if the als can him I bet he’s back in the league in no time. -
Certainly not as a starter. Not unless we hit a lotto on an nfl guy. But I think this draft has more teams guys than most, and we could very much use a restock on kick cover.

Wish the league would encourage global players getting an increased role. -
Some pretty interesting dl prospects this year. Be great to get a rotational depth piece to fill out the roster.

League should not allow this clown back. barker to tv is such an awful tone deaf move too. Soo many ex players from the past 10 years would be a drastic improvement. -
It’s not too surprising to me when you look at the guys who’ve been big fa pick ups for other teams and gone to the nfl. I’d like to see the stats for drafted by that team and 1 on a cfl roster and 2 a starter in the cfl. We’d move up on that list fast.
-
Maybe after 5-6 years. If you look at the mafias average in the first 3 ish years it’s easily more like 3+. Our 19 draft yielded 6 cflers. 5 guys from 16 stuck for a couple years with 4 really good cflers. 2020 put 4 guys in our roster that are still here today. 3 in 14, 5 in 15, 4 guys in 17 plus 1 that kicked around prs, etc.

Great day for Canadian football, wish the best to all these kids.

You’re right that’s kinda mean. I don’t think just under the draft pick punishment can be an accident. -

For his reasoning I think Anthony Bennett who he projects with the next picture would make a lot more sense. That’s a guy who can get after it on teams, has the altheticism, could maybe maybe be a back up lber to roll with our usual suspect ni lbers. He’s older and idk if he can bulk up and play between 230-240 but his pick for us doesn’t make much sense.
