  1. nah worse to cheat, then win a ship, get caught, but have no one care in your market about cheating winning or even existing. did you guys ever end up having a gc parade btw? go to Hamilton!
  2. I feel like the pundits never know what we will do at the draft. I predict that I will really like a couple of the picks, but that we will really reach for a couple guys, and that we will draft a guy with the label of the best special teams guy available. I think especially lately we have gone after high upside guys and that probably continues. If we can grab some of the high motor/character special teams guys after that it’ll be great. This is an interesting draft. You have this split of high upside athletic guys and high polish/character sub par athletes. Mix that with a bunch of big time prospects will are sure fire to be nfl bound. that’s kind of normal, but it seems like you have more guys in each split this year.
  3. The wr one perfectly sums up barkers career. He can’t scout, trade, develop, strategize coach or play call. But he’s here and he’s a big body. Natural blocker at the buffet.
  4. Honestly it only makes sense to go over up to 100k if it can make a difference. But yeah wtf ott lol.
  5. And I think that’s a good thing for every one too. It gives them all the incentive to grow the viewership, and gives us a chance for that revenue to increase.
  6. I’m betting before the xfl plays it’s next season. I think there could be some fantastic opportunity to have it be like the old Al vs nl in mlb. that is fantastic news, though I worry a bit about the broadcast quality. I don’t think the football viewing public in the us is ready for some of the awful pbp and color. I feel like the peak of the us simulcast deals in the last was less than a large coffee at tims, though I don’t know for sure. I hope the actual numbers come out and I hope we see the cap grow because of it
  7. Go find a tv partner any where that is growing the market and shrinking the off season coverage. It’s ok, I’ll wait. You’re the only person who follows the cfl happy with tsn. But that is your defacto position on all things.
  8. You know who else thinks it’s a definitive advantage? Kyle Walters. man that sucks. Wonder why.
  9. He certainly did not invent it. Most teams don’t do this. Most teams are handing out pretty bonus heavy contracts to vets especially in free agency. That’s why soo many of the top 10 deals aren’t hard money but the bombers contracts are virtually all hard money. With being able to use the 6 game ir retroactively, injuries to vets especially high paid vets create a lot of the cap room for replacements. Most injury replacements aren’t high cost eithe. Handful of guys come back from the nfl in a good year and get a big chunk of pro rated money. I definitely agree that the next man up filling positions internally vs trading for over the hill vets has been a key to success here. Though Walters retaining money for nfl guys returning has as well. It seems to me like Walters and co doesn’t really aim for holes in free agency. They seem to look at just the players and go hard after the guys they want. Even with nfl cuts.
  10. He uses the bonus cap a lot for late season additions, and in the case of last year moving future cap hits to a previous years bonus cap. The cfl cap isn’t by any means the nba in terms of complexity but Walters plays chess while most of the league plays checkers with the cap.
  11. I imagine the rest of the tc spots are mostly waiting on the cis draft results. Couple more bodies at wr, lber, dl, ol to round things out will be nice. Other than that I think we will bring in 1 more qb. That or it will be a short leash on hall. Or maybe waiting on a neg list qb to shake loose. But 4 arms plus the ni would be ideal in camp. It’s hard to replace that experience.
  12. Right? When you consider how much bonus money they deferred from this year to last year they should still have very good flexibility through out the year. Lawler and Willy j are our only really big contracts by position this year.
  13. I think the wheels wobbled the last two years. I think this year could bring change to cow town.
  14. I think a good few will move up here eventually. But most of the top chunk won’t play this year in the cfl. It’s a great year to take flyers on high up side guys but it could be costly for the bottom half of the teams. I’m hoping we take a flyer or two for sure.
  15. I think he’s got game left in him, but I wouldn’t want to have to bank on him as a starter. He’s also aged remarkably well for a twitchy explosive athlete. I Wish him well.
  16. Doesn’t sound like the schooling side will fit with him. I think it’d be great if teams could have junior and even cis kids on a separate roster. Not eligible to play but can practice and sit in on meetings and film study. It’d be a big boost to grass roots development. he certainly seems it. The route running, high pointing and late grabbing really shows a natural competitive intelligence that you can’t teach. 100% good for him. Great guy, but time for us to move on. It’s kind of crazy to see the stamps signing our established guys who we are moving on from especially past their prime guys. Don’t get me wrong I think he can contribute. He’d be great as a sub package guy.
  17. Looks big for his listed size. Smooth, fluid, great hands and cuts. I can certainly see why he’s drawn soo much interest from the major college football programs down south. To me he looks like a guy worth sitting on the pr and developing. Short of some thing awful happening he’s a super high upside guy that’s rare to get cheap little on free. And I mean Jordan reaves is still kicking around the league.
  18. I would assume it’s like a junior player invite. If he doesn’t make the roster he should be able to go to college, junior, through the draft etc.
  19. some kids even very smart just don’t fit with the teaching style or content of hs/college. It can be a huge asset to get 4 years of free college. But at the same time a lot of people have useless degrees. I think pro sports should do a better job of giving kids options other than college.
  20. Yep, as a mlber not a fb or te too. Made his path to the nfl by tremendous special teams plays and goal line versatility that led him to becoming a fb/te.
  21. Ahh yes the Toronto approach to low attendance.
  22. A bit OT but I’d love to see some retro collector jerseys from different eras in the bomber store. Be great if I could pop in and get an era correct Dunigan, west etc.
  23. Orozco sounds like a really good prospect. Was the best kicker in the n arena league by a lot. Supposed to have a big leg and plus accuracy. He finished hot at grambling state and was getting some good nfl hype from his work outs. Seems to have slipped between the cracks. Gonna be a lot of boots in camp thats for sure.
  24. It’s not spending where it’s important. Spending the year end bill but not investing any of the money to actually fix the problems is just giving anesthesia along with the lethal injection. How long do you think the argos can continue as is? The argos are by far in the most trouble of any franchise. And no in season performance can help.
