  1. I wouldn’t go too crazy about this pick up. Good depth guy but significantly less impressive than legs. 5 year player who made 95, 68, 68, 75, and 89% of his kicks for a career 80% make rate. Only made 1 kick 48 yards or longer in all 5 years.
  2. Mostly agree. Idk if he’s the 3rd best in the league on a decent team as the 3rd option. You can argue he’s a better pass catcher but that 5th wr here isn’t a pass catcher in half the plays. I’m not sure he is better either. Woli just gets soo few touches. If ksb got that amount of touches here he wouldn’t be too 15 ni wrs in the league for production. Imop he’d probably quit playing if he had to fills wolis shoes. Not many guys are willing to set aside stats and play selfless style like that. If woli was in ksbs position I think he’d be a 1k wr easily as well.
  3. He’d probably start on every other team in the league pretty easily. But not here. He couldn’t fill demskis role or wolis. And he wouldn’t bump any of the imps.
  4. 100% he wouldn’t. Ksb can’t block. Woli blocks more than he runs routes. Seriously it’s a completely different role. demski didn’t have injury Issues for his first 5 seasons. Can’t really compare the last two season health wise to a guy 22-24. He’s a talented young guy with lots of success for an ni wr. Nothing would change if he was here. Would it be sick to have that depth? Sure. But he wouldn’t sit on the bench as depth any way. And wouldn’t bump a starter. you really don’t seem to get what we have in bolo and woli. Or the role that our ni wrs play. just because it’s a contrarian point you don’t have to own it. 3dn, cfl pa, tsn, really any outlet you choose to look at demski is recognized for what he does.
  5. We have more numbers than yards receiving ya know. demski put up a combined 923 yards in 13 games for 71 yards per game with 10 tds and 75% catch rate. Averaging a td every .77 games. Vs bakers 1034 in 18 games for 57.44 per game with 5 tds and 69% catch rate. That’s .27 tds per game. 0 multi td games for baker to 3 for demski. that with baker being the no1 target in ssk and demski being no3 for about half his games and no2 target for the other half. Then you have to factor in that demski is one of the best blocking wrs in the league and the single biggest difference making wr with out the ball in his hands in the league. Last year demski had more tds than baker has in his career. 30 games vs 13. Then you know wins are also a stat too. People love to attribute them to qbs but win shares are not just a qb stat and demski has far more. Demski also made west division all star over baker. but yes despite all the stats that demski crushed baker in, baker put up more rec yards. demski>baker and it’s not even remotely close. Baker has a lot of football ahead of him but he’s got a long way to go to catch demski. Baker wouldn’t make the bombers roster. Woli plays a role blocking and providing very secure hands. Demski does way too much more and is better at just about everything. Baker wouldn’t get half the pass attempts in our offense.
  6. I think it’ll be much smaller in the future. Maybe 3 rounds worth of picks. So teams can get those all important height in shoes, hand width of top pick qbs and wonderlick scores.
  7. Reminds me of an early / poor man’s demski. A lot of guys with the elusive tool fail to take steps forward. It’s easy to lean on it and expect it to save you every time. But it only becomes less effective the longer you play. I love watching shifty guys play at any level. But in this age of football high risk high reward players are a tough sell. But it’s a nice spot to be in if he’s your no3 option. Wouldn’t crack our roster though.
  8. Nick Taylor was a basketball player too. for the most part I think tcf is a thing of the past. The closest thing now is recycled qbs coming in as the 5th arm to keep guys fresh, junior kids, extra legs for kicking to return guys and maybe some un drafted fa ni guys. The game is too competitive now with talent and athletic levels too high to risk a spot. You never know when a guy could break through like Alford or schoen. At this point I think only bad teams deal in tcf imps. Like maybe edm. Chris jones does crazy things.
  9. An undersized kr db who also blocked 5 kicks in 3 years. That tells me he’s extremely hard working and tough plus explosive as an athlete. I’ll take that combo in any size any day of the week. Throw in 26.1 per kick off return for his career and 17 pass knock downs and I can see plenty of reason to think he has the potential to be an impact player. The mafia don’t bring in imp dbs as tcf. And nfl teams don’t bring in micro dbs to be tcf.
  10. A lot of people forget about that heroic 4th q come back wins. Sadly lots of qbs get ruined that way.
  11. That’s what I would’ve done back then. However the two other guys I liked almost as much ended up being turrible. Way she goes.
  12. Dru is still a great unknown. He grew a lot last year and offers about as much hope as a guy can with so few reps. Dane is trying to show he still has a great deal to show. He’s a good guy and better than the average qb2. But man it’s looking like jonathon Jennings 2.0
  13. Got to be a crazy feeling. It’s amazing how well they can reconstruct knees and hips. I wish back surgery was as good.
  14. 100%. I also don’t see the fan base or demand from locals. Most western cities with out a sports team (and maybe some in none gta ontario, maybe laval) would be ecstatic at the chance to have a cfl franchise. You’d see a ground swell of support from fans, business and govt. out side of the riderfans travelling and doing what they always do the rest of td Atlantic seemed very meh.
  15. Yep. I’d love to see a league wide retention rate for teams draft picks. I bet it’d be almost completely flipped. It does need to be said though that the argos success is largely based on ni quality and depth. On one hand it sucks to lose guys. But on the other it’s great for the team and the league to have guys like kongbo, desjarlais, and Alford down south. When those fringe nfl Canadians, d2 guys and high end candian prospects look at the league they can see examples where they dont have to start to succeed but can earn key play time right away and make the nfl in a hurry. And if it doesn’t work out get paid like mad to come back. the big difference between xfl usfl and the cfl is the cfl gets a ton of fringe nfl players. The xfl and usfl are still getting mostly fringe cfl players.
  16. Lol no pressure. Ideally they can find another stove clone and have a competition in camp between them. The only thing Goodson leaves you wanting for is another of him. Now that I think about it it seems like the stoves poops Bryant’s etc all came out of camps with great competition at dt too.
  17. Love the wrestling background. Pretty much exactly what you would come up with if you could design an ideal cfl nose. Love the tackle production too. Strong 2+ tackle per game guy with a ton of Tfl. Not often you see dts putting up games of 9 tackles 2 tfl and sack 1 ff. Or getting. Tfl in 6 straight games. A lot of big time plays in the crunch and a long history of winning. Playing in 4 bowl games in 4 years in college is pretty crazy when you aren’t a top tier school. They seem to find real good players each year from these.
  18. Tda was mostly rough rider fans though let’s be honest. If it had been bc and ott they wouldn’t have had half the people in town. I just don’t see it. Maybe I’m blind to the potential out there but I just don’t see it. With the cfl schedule maker we will always see stupid ass schedules. Could be 2 or 20 teams.
  19. He’s definitely a dual threat guy. Streveler type speed. He also chucked the ball down field a lot so his % isn’t like most west coast passing teams. Didn’t play the best level of competition but high upside guy. Sayles is a good 5 inches taller and 25lbs lighter. If he was 6’3 and 325+ he’d be on an nfl roster. Perfect niche for us.
  20. Obryan Goodson one of the 5 bombers signings today is a stove clone. Shade under 6’ and 300 but an extremely disruptive nose tackle. I’d love to see another one or two brought in but he’s a great pick up.
  21. If put in the right situation I could see it. But if mtl wasn’t enough idk what would aside from here or maybe to. He might set a record for sacks against with that ol. I don’t get the fascination with having an east coast team. 10 teams border to border doesn’t add any thing. But having an expansive team flop in a couple years because they don’t have the owners market size infrastructure etc would be a big blow. Not to mention the possibility of a team playing in a 10-15kish stadium that’s half empty.
  22. No one is going to beat the money or even match it and provide worse production quality. In the past cbc and sports net have carried cfl and you don’t have to go too far back. Plus the score exists. Today, the Olympic and nhl are far more limited in networks than when the cfl was last spread out in terms of rights. It’s a great time to look around at these different networks for competition.
  23. Maybe the single most important person in franchise history. He may be gone but his legend here will never fade and in that way he will out live us all.
  24. No, because we didn’t bring any one in last year. I don’t know how you missed that point.
