  1. Honestly the biggest failing point of our coaching staff has been in the 2 gc loses. Not just in roster management, but in game plan, execution, adjustment and having the team ready to go at their best. And not many coaching staffs would survive 2 bad back to back GC loses. Adams worse than 6-7 other DL. Hallett is a rotational cover guy over griffin at times, holm over griffin, the entire DE debacle this year, tre thomas/dylan moses, johnny petrishen, joshua gremmel all cut for a bunch of guys who cant play, rivers should've been kept around too. Plus the whole cutting the only T and carrying nothing but imp guards on the pr, mcghee sticking around soo long, sheahan lol, the early failed karamoko experiment, cutting rosery, its an impressive amount of tri level chess mos is playing and mental gymnastics to get to that point. Nice strawman, ad hominem combo! Double points, you win! 😄
  2. False dilemma lol. Or, you know, its multiple factors lead to wins and it can't be boiled down so simply. Some teams win because of coaching, some teams win inspite of it. Some teams would win no matter who was at the helm. I'm not saying mos hasn't had a part in our winning, he certainly has. But he is far from the top cause for our recent success. IF you look at that D closer, you might see that our best 2 DL this year have been rookies in woods and adams. If you look at our secondary, bonds, ford, griffin, and nichols are all in the top elite tier of DBs in the whole league. Despite the fact that griffin plays dime in a sub package instead of starting. If you look at our D last year and this year you see a big change, do you think that is more mos than JY? I see credit for our D quality as front office for filling 2-3 starter gaps with all stars including new to the cfl guys, then JY for the system change and tremendous coaching, then Hall and mos are about equal.
  3. Mos was on the hot seat before the 19 win, and we won because of generational talent disparity between us and the rest of the league. Plus some what fluking into zach collaros. No zach trade, mos wouldn't have lasted or gotten close to the record. Most coaches in the league would've excelled with our team in the back half of 19-22. He's a great force for culture and leadership. But if mos was fired at the mid way ish mark of 19 and paul took over, every thing else being the same, nothing changes. Wins, are not facts. They are biproducts. And they can be produced a great number of ways. Not just coaching and qbing. Enter, Gustavo Chacin. A former Starting pitcher for the toronto blue jays. in 2005 he was 5th in roy voting, and was among the league leaders at the mid way point in Wins. However, his ERA was above 5, 1.5 walks plus hits per inning pitched, he didn't get strike outs and didn't get ground outs. He even gave up a high rate of hard hit balls in play. He was abnormally lucky amongst other things. He went 25-15 as a starter with the jays (in an era when .500 starting pitchers got major paydays.) but pitched just 5 games after his time with the jays. In 2005, he had more wins that Roy Halladay and tied for the team lead in wins. But he wasn't the best starter on that team, or the 2nd/3rd/4th/5th. The depth was filled out with miguel batista (27 wins next 2 years), dustin mcgowan(34 wins after 05), shaun marcum (61 wins), and chad gaudin (26 next 3 years and 45 career after going to the pen.) https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/chacigu01.shtml
  4. Yeah we are pretty much married to zach for better or worse. Probably for next year too.
  5. Appeal to authority fallacy much? Would you like to make a fact based claim to defend the likes of kola, Johnson, Jackson etc? I can give you a large list of names and you can take first pick and I’ll respond in turn with a fact based break down. Sure they know more. But if knowledge was the primary limiting factor money ball would’ve won all the ships. I can give tons of examples of the smartest guys not succeeding, and even not being coaches. Weve seen this for years here. Guys that don’t get a sniff else where start here for extended periods of time. Plus mos is open about it, he values intangibles over much else. Kola is hands down the worst C in the league. It’s far more than a handful, and the same guys who watch him daily started Johnson for weeks then cut him keeping pr guys, ran Damien Jackson out as di for 10 weeks then cut him etc. The decision making process is not based on talent or even efficacy. Very true. The lack of discipline from the O this year is really interesting. With buck moving down and mos over ruling some calls I feel like some thing is going on.
  6. He hasn’t had an opportunity at C. He’s still a large upgrade at C. They double shift him because Dobson is the only other guy who snaps, and he excels on the heavy set in his spot.
  7. Looks quicker than fast but still has escapable speed. Better catcher than I expected for his size. Reminds me a bit of dressler. Big question for me is has he been banged up and lost explosiveness? Looks like a good score.
  8. Hopefully we see a couple other guys cut soon too. We’ve been screwing around with pr development for soo long now hopefully we’re done atleast for the year.
  9. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/penny-hart/32004841-5269-5794-21c2-9776a5a0a3d4 hart is also a kr. Dandy has great run jump athleticism. Alleged 4.38 40 time, pro day numbers weren’t as good but still very strong. Dandy did five events at the pro day at Northwestern: the 40-yard dash (4.48 seconds), the 3-cone drill (6.87 seconds), the 5-10-5 shuttle (4.19 seconds), the vertical jump (39 inches) and the broad jump (10 feet, 7 inches).
  10. Grainger has incredible dynamic talent and upside. Needs lots of polishing, but well worth the look. Sucks about woli, thankfully we got Mr automatic in clercius. BRANDON WRIGHT (Defensive End) POSITIVES: Brandon is a 6'1, 250-pound defensive end who runs 4.74 in the 40-yard dash and put up 19 reps with 225 pounds. He was rated as the No.1 RB in Ohio in high school. He played in 42 career games with the Spartans and started six career games at defensive end. He had 44 career tackles, six tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. NEEDS TO IMPROVE: Unfortunately, Wright does not have as much length as an average DE, and he has battled injuries that have limited his ability to get onto the field.
  11. No, the waste was at having started him soo many times then cutting him. I’m fine with him in tc actually. Having him in over lucky, saving us a di or wheatfall who gives us much needed size is just confounding.
  12. I could see Johnson being brought back to camp next year. Such a waste. Doesn’t show on the transactions page yet but glad it’s all finally done. Also glad they didn’t cut some one valuable.
  13. No joke I think edm is gonna slap them. If edm didn’t start the year with jones they’d be first in the west. The riders will continue to find ways to lose and miss the play offs. Oday might finally get canned.
  14. Thanks for sharing that! honestly, last week would’ve been a perfect time to run some guys through, it’d be much harder to give them the dedicated time with coaches otherwise. Usually the big coaches take a day or two on the week, not a a whole week. Yeah I’d bet on that being it, with Wilson being the short yardage guy still. Depends on how much he likes the dole and Wilson. Think we will get an idea in the final week game.
  15. Strange that we still haven’t signed either qb or made any official moves.
  16. I agree, but I don’t think we’d be worse off with lemon/wj than with wj/habba. But what we need is not easily available right now unless we hit on an nfl cut in a big way. teams read him all the time and he never makes the play. Wj needs to be part of a 3 man end rotation with 2 guys who can play. Not replacement level guys. Not only that but our dl, outside of woods are seldom gap sound little on able to make plays in the running game. You gotta be good at atleast one or the other. Jake is sound at getting off blocks atleast, garbutt is solid as well. but solid is far from good. And good is the enemy of great. it’s really a testament to how little the cfl cares about rushing, and slow they are at adapting in general. The secondary is great, and the secondary coaching has been very good. But when teams know they will have time and can’t game plan for the openings that’s sad. our front 6 is really lacking in coaching and game plan.
  17. We seem content to stand pat for the most part, even though we badly need de/dl and lber among other positions.
  18. 3 teams are with in one 40 point swing, which can easily happen in 1 game on off. On D the als are with in 2 scores, and bc has an extra Game played now. That means if Mtl has one major less game, and we have a high scoring back and forth game it change pretty heavily. The league also had a big scoring lull that seems to finally be breaking, plus the end of the season will likely see some teams eliminated with blow outs ensuing. Not to mention some teams could shut it down for rest. I don’t think we have any decent chance of winning the west and staying in the basement of scoring. And just like how defences break in the 4th quarter with out support through the Game the same happens in the final 1/3 of the season.
  19. Guarantee it won’t stay that way between now and when the west is clinched. Either our O will come up, or our D will come down. Hopefully we start scoring tds.
  20. I’d argue Red Sox fans got like that. Yankees fans have always been like riders fans, but for one of the most successful teams in na sports history. Cowboys fans too. “Americas team” the rider fans plagiarized soo much of ctheir modern culture. Philadelphia sports fans in general too. Rider fan culture is on the goat list for toxicity. We’ve had our fair share of dumbass toxic online fans since 19, but a tiny fraction of the invasive bs. It sucks for the actual good fans they have.
  21. It’s an alchemical mix of both that doesn’t apply universally to other QBs. The nuance required has killed teams desire to try and try it other than with top picks. The time and investment is also a front office killer if you miss. QBs are really self developing after the first 10-15 picks these days. we all fish from the same pool. They get first dibs, but that doesn’t change the fact that less kids are playing football and even less pushing for higher levels. Ol is also a problem for them.
  22. Qft. yep. Then it’ll get knocked down and the cycle will repeat. I rotate some services. Extra channels on prime when on sale, crave, etc. I used to rotate tsn and sports net but probably won’t again. I actually have cable that isn’t hooked up with a new box. They bundled it with my internet cell and home phone. (Wife insisted) I’m going to change shortly, dropped cell, gonna drop cable and home phone, unless I get a really good cable bundle with sports. Honestly I’m tired of figuring out how I’m gonna watch all kinds of sporting events, or finding mediocre streams.
  23. For my money that one is more star studded and idk if they could play this scheme. This unit is a much deeper more group oriented D. If we keep these young guys around it’s gonna be insane. Agree
