  1. Yeah I expect him back. I think it was entirely preventative keeping him out. Course he does.
  2. Makes all the sense in the world. I only wonder why they waited soo long to pull the trigger.
  3. Rbs cut armstead for morrow. Wonder if this is more of a move about his off field issues. Bet some one grabs him though https://3downnation.com/2024/09/03/ottawa-redblacks-release-starting-rb-ryquell-armstead-sign-former-riders-jamal-morrow/
  4. It’s hard to say if Randolph needs reps in general in the pros/cfl or if he needs time and polishing with Marty. I’d love to pick his brain about some of these guys. I would think best case scenario for his development would be to be on the field this year and maybe slide him to te over the t in the heavy set. I don’t think neuf will be back. Size and injuries certainly played a huge part in yoshis down turn. Especially when you compound that with age. Imo, super tall linemen drop off more from age. Right up there with super heavy weights weighing 340+. Which again yosh was probably 350 plus last year. loftons struggles have been speed off the edge epically on deep paths. Which isn’t mobility based imo, we saw him kick step like he was trying to win a 2 stepping race this year. (Right into Zachs lap lol) I think his primary limiting factor is his ability to improve mechanics. He makes the same mistakes now as he did in his first trip here. He’s gotten better, but he’s basically a guy that you’re doing a favour when you bull rush him. He doesn’t seem comfortable, fluid or natural at kicking or sliding. And he doesn’t seem to know what technique to use any time other than locked up in position. Which worries me when it comes to his upside. That said, I don’t think neuf was made worse by Lofton. Certainly by kola though. Lofton wasn’t struggling with inside rushes, or pick ups. Kola always does, but nuef has played a lot of games next to kola. He knows what to expect, and played better beside him early in kolas time here. I actually don’t think Wallace would’ve been much different from either project imp “tackle”. But he has upside that makes sense to develop imo. Randolph has upside but the pass port is huge. I agree we should be pilfering and searching for big bodies. Until Lawson is back and close to 100%, which I doubt happens this year now, we could use a big pile pushing Canadian dt. Not a guy who looks like he’s running the 100m relay going from a yard off into the ol. I wish we recruited imp ol like we do ni ol and imp dl. Try and polish athletes who can knock guys on their ass. Not character experienced guys at playing inside.
  5. This. He looked great in the limited reps on heavy set. In pre season he showed much more motor than we saw from him last year, but it hasn’t translated to the field at all on D. I’d continue to carry him as the 7th ol and a general two way big body, but also have him work as an ol in practice. Especially at C. He’s not a huge guy by any means, but he’s a fairly average size Ni C. That motor and mobility could be huge at C, if he can get down snapping. the wheels fell off yosh pretty fast. It’s really a testament to how much worse our ok was last year than neufs play as well. He looks 100% toast to me. Larnel Coleman? He was cut a ways back. Randolph has been good at guard, and does have the mobility to play T, but he needs a lot of time and polish there.
  6. Same here. I’m really hoping he goes to Edmonton to be their hc but at this rate idk if any one will make him an offer.
  7. Normally I might agree based on +/-, but in this case I think it’s due to games with qb injuries, and being a young good team they’ve won once by a healthy margin and been routed twice. Other wise they are winning close games. They are a ball possession offence not a downfield team aggressive team
  8. Same reason buck doesn’t call plays to counter pressure, why he gets away from running the ball for upwards of a half at a time, why he doesn’t call iso fades or high percentage one on one plays for lawler in the red zone, or even the 20 yard out that he and zach torched the league with previously, or why he has gotten away from the jet package this year, why he’s never made good use of our kr in the offence, why we continually run the same izr scheme even when teams play aggressive gap schemes, and I can keep going on all day with these. The worst being getting away from looks that work with great efficiency for no reason, having no progression play to work off what we do when teams adjust or wrinkles that can work from the same look but create another opportunity. He’s a limited oc, lapo is basically the entire extent of his coaching tree and scheme work. He hasn’t grown as a play caller since he took over at all. The best OCs even those locked into singular styles constantly evolve and bring in new wrinkles. All of bucks wrinkles are lapos old ones. His fall back is the same to. We thought we would get a guy with lapos floor and high ceiling, and in stead we got lapo with no ceiling. I’d be surprised if they didn’t look at a qb, but it’ll probably just be for tc next year. No rookie mid season will help any way. I like the ceiling with Wilson and grangers raw tools. But Wilson didn’t look close to ready. I’d trust him to run short yardage and no more.
  9. Idk about that. I think he was at one point. But I think he would be in Edmonton next year if they offer him the job. I’ve been seeing mos make more calls on the offence in terms of package than he used to. The move down from the booth after soo long up there I think is a sign too. With the performance of the D this year I think JY is/has/will pass buck.
  10. Good question. if strevy was really hurt and zach 100% ish I think some cast off like that or another rookie would happen. If zach was a concern and I think he has been nursing an injury all year, I could see them going after some one like masoli. They wanted him for ages.
  11. He will pass old Dave for his career here for sure, which is incredible. If he coaches another 10 years, and wins an average of 10 games he will end up a good chunk behind the Don and Wally. Idk if any one will ever catch wally. 15 games a year for 10 years and he still wouldn’t catch Wally. You’d have to coach till great old age to catch him.
  12. Imo, he’s the easiest guy to game plan a counter for because of his usage. He could run like prime Mike vick, and if the other team knows he’s gonna run when he’s in and it’s the same 3 runs they’re gonna stop him. Which is what we see, every one crashes the box especially on qb movement/ hand off action. Strevy may or may not be physically diminished. He doesn’t have a lot of usage, but has seen some hellacious hits. I’m sure he has some injury right now, but idk if it’s some thing that would stop a regular qb. Also you don’t need to be an elite athlete to be a highly effective runner at qb, with one good leg strevy is twice the athlete Fajardo is. But for a running qb to work you have to have the wrs pulling the secondary back creating gaps and angles on the edge. I’m a big believer in running qb offences. The key to their success is running smart with the qb. The qb should be running off tackle out side the box stuff ending with going out at the side line, and misdirection power type stuff that has him being the home run hitter. You can’t pound away with the qb like he’s Brady. Especially when you have a Brady as is. We should be pulling the third level down field with wrs, stretching tackle box guys side line to sideline with jet motion, pulling the gap players inside with Brady, and using strevy in rpo stuff to hit guys in motion with the ball quick and easy or blasting through seams when the D over commits to one area. Ott took a lot out of him. That game plan makes sense in a play off game with wind/weather. Not other wise. I don’t think we will know how hurt he is till the off season, when they announce he’s going for some surgery again.
  13. The secondary has also gelled since then, I don’t put it all on him. Early on the holm, ford, Kramdi group all struggled with executing the switch’s. that said I think kyrie is well past it. Guy was a beast on his game but just could never stay healthy. He’s a shorter term Jackson Jeffcoat. Except we have much better replacements for kyrie with the smaller package. If any thing we should be looking for the new prototype bigger sam at wil as well. I think that’s the future in the league in general.
  14. It hasn’t though. And that was literally his first ever pro game reps lol. He had one poor toss with pressure right on him, in a play where a completion would’ve lost yards. He ran the offence when he came in for zach the first time this year because we didn’t have a full install on the trash pack buck tries to force him to run.
  15. Game of the year to go to. Imagine the next game when they try to give mos a plaque or some thing for taking the spot haha
  16. That’d be nice, but I’m sure it’s about getting the money he deserves quick. Idk would he come back to the team that didn’t believe in him enough to give him the shot. Give ott a first to swap zach and dru lol He can throw, buck can’t put together a game plan to save his or any one else’s life. He can’t game plan to beat pressure, use our weapons, maintain the run etc. buck is the problem, not strevy. He may or may not be limited physically but he isn’t the issue.
  17. Looks good on mos, next win he owns the spot.
  18. Soo much this. Every player needs to be responsible for their helmet and their target.
  19. Will they learn? If rourke gets badly hurt on that kind of play they will. Other wise probably not. Saw the leg twist on strevy in short yardage too.
  20. Plus Adams can play dt in a 40 too. Brings tons of versatility. We could honestly do better than what he and garbutt have been bringing with air lifts / cast offs.
  21. Every snap he had a handful of jersey
  22. 3rd string centre, dt at guard, 0 calls on the riders ol. Criminal reffing.
  23. In that case the answer is coaching change. Cus in that case, and as we’ve seen with zach this year, no one is the answer.
  24. He was close for me, the pick was scary though and wanted to credit the blood n guts guys who won in the clutch.
