  1. He should and likely will. We will likely go with a vet as our candidate. I’d bet on wj or Nichols.
  2. Yep. I really really want to see him make the switch to centre. Imagine him helping guards and getting down field smashing lbers.
  3. Yuuup. Looked damn good. His motor, hands, and aggression are excellent and his lack of athleticism is covered for by not facing 300lbers. You jinxed it! Haha Rcmp escort to get him from his priority first class flight to the stadium.
  4. Yeah. Our rotation hasn’t been great but it’s been significantly worse when we run 6 on the ar. Just can’t have two Canadian dts on at the same time. Need to have better balance with Jake’s reps. Agree about karamoko. We really need better talent at global.
  5. Yep. And not really needed with clercius, mci, and schmekel. agree. This lineup is going to be really good. Especially if we get a 7th dl on. Now we just have to rotate guys well.
  6. https://3downnation.com/2024/09/25/could-bo-levi-mitchell-win-cfl-m-o-p-even-if-hamilton-tiger-cats-miss-playoffs/ another classic from 3dn. I think Brady and Mcinnis will duel it out for moc, and if either leaders receiving/rushing at the end of the year they likely battle for mop. Stanback could jump in if he wins, I don’t think any other wr would though. Milligan will split votes with the rider bias, but I don’t think he would win modp votes over over beverette or our candidate. The top performers on D are all too close for one to win mop imo. Even though I would go D. I would put up nichols.
  7. Unfortunately, that is a big assumption in the cfl lol. Speaking of, sure would be nice to hear about how all the new qbs are doing. It's been a long time since we had this many QBs on the roster. I'd be kind of surprised if we keep 2 on the pr for the rest of the year, though I really want to keep Grainger around and see him in camp next year. That guy has incredible talent.
  8. 100%. That is my favorite play to see from a DL. That means not only does the guy have the athleticism to do that, but the relentless motor to succeed in general. Tom canada was a high motor guy too. Our better finds among imp DTs have been those types. Bryant, stove, sayles etc. Especially the good 3 tech types. And slants. Oh man did he used to carve us up baaad throwing 10-15 yard slants at the seams.
  9. I wouldn’t rotate, but ole pat and Eli off the bench would be excellent. I agree Randolph at g makes us better.
  10. That’s true. I think bc and Hamilton at times this year have had the flexibility as well. I do agree, and at this point I’d prioritize ol pass pro ratio wise. We won the ships based around line play. For some reason we’ve gotten away from that.
  11. 100%. Delayed rb wheel routes are a huge opportunity. In general, pass catching rbs are extremely valuable in all levels and leagues. And yeah, the whole point of match cover is to keep every thing in front of you, cover the seams, and let athletes come up and make plays. Force the offence to make consecutive great plays to keep the ball moving and make significant field position gains.
  12. Teams aren’t looking for imp guards though. If he was actually a tackle maybe, but Richardson was much better and didn’t get poached. Also, I don’t think vanterpool would be notably worse at guard. You should be able to find imp guards at will in general. Teams just don’t have the ratio flexibility and invest a lot into ni ol on the interior.
  13. I wonder how this roster will shake down… has to be one more imp coming off. Randolph for Adam’s makes sense. I wonder if one of haba/garbutt come off for Cole? I also wonder if Cole will start at wil over ayers. Can’t be griffin coming off that’s for sure. I feel like lucky should sit and get healthy we aren’t using him much on off any way. If one of the ends come off I would expect us to put a Canadian dl back on. Probably hubert.
  14. Also, go give lapo some likes and subs on YT! He needs support for all this work he’s putting in!
  15. The part about switching off spies is good, even though it didn’t work in our favour on that play. A couple of the big keys to making it work include the deep guys keeping every thing in front of them, the wall and flat guys making good decisions and every one rallying to the ball. Also the one guy who gets left playing man up on the corner is often bond who has been exceptional at it. The deep guys have done a much better job keeping it all in front of them, especially ba. He catches a lot of flak, deservedly so, for his awful tackling last year and this, but he’s got it back in terms of coverage. Nichols is great at any thing we ask him to do. Holm struggled early but has improved a lot at decision making. Last year he used his athleticism to get back into plays and cover up mistakes. If he can start using it to make plays with in the system he could become elite. Jones and Ayer’s have much to learn, but are using their tools to make plays in the middle that we haven’t seen in a good while. If they can be more sound in the run game vs blocking we are gonna be scary.
  16. Yeah. Jackson has done an excellent job of picking up the pieces after jones was finally dumpstered. In that, he benefits a big deal from 1, having no expectations from how bad they were, and 2 the removal of the most toxic coach in the league. I see a couple signs that don't bode well. How he claimed he tore them a new one and said more to the team than he had the whole time since he took over as HC. Which the players didn't seem to see happen. If true, as far as authoritarians go he would make mos look like bear bryant. He has been yanking qbs instead of trying to really get it working with one (It isn't a hard choice either who should be starting) then announcing it when we were in our bye week, and still didn't come prepared with a game plan capable of beating us. If he can't get his offence to work with MBT, he's in trouble. I mean they have Eugene lewis, Gittens jr, Dillion mitchell, and tevin jones plus those RBs. That is a solid group. With MBT, and that running game, knowing you are gonna get time to pass you cant put together a game plan to get those guys the ball? The switch to ford was strange, but even more so he didn't have any thing put in to make use of fords strengths. One poorly timed draw play. He also coached under jones for like 5 years in 2 different stints. For that to happen he either needs to be a significant yesman to a toxic pos or needs to be one of his ilk. I think character wise, he has done a very good job. I think he will continue to coach in the cfl if HCing doesn't work out. And I think he will likely, and should get a chance to be the HC next year. But I see a few red flags already. Imo, he needs a guy like Hall to be an ast HC to mentor him and a guy who can take and run his offence with out his having to do the play call.
  17. Nice change of pace for Edmonton. qft
  18. I wish we would’ve gone for a ratio breaker like hladik at lber. Allowing us to go full imp on the dl and swap in Lawson for an imp dime/wil. We need a major upgrade at pass rusher for sure. Honestly, I’d try to bring in one or even two and move Willy into a back up rotational role. Teams abuse him soo bad in the run game, and he struggles too much playing for PKDs in higher reps. A Canadian RT would be fantastic. I think Wallace should be starting next year ideally too. Ol we really need to get rid of guys, and bring in some real tackles etc.
  19. There was a long time culture of defense not liking the O, and OL being the most clicky of all. I got cut for doing some thing stupid in junior on O and the DC brought me back mostly to piss off the oc. Practice was reeeaally fun that year. Funny enough I ended up playing ol too for the last 3 weeks and the next year. But he was let go after the year. The split was really bad in that locker room. Couple of the big us programs I visited it wasn’t nearly soo bad, especially party schools. Some teams seam to cultivate the D vs O culture though. Especially hs down south.
  20. I wonder if Suitor will say Our ford has the lead now that the other ford has been benched... again lol. It'll be interesting to see what MBT does. I honestly don't think he matches up vs our D well at all. I can see him performing even worse than ford did, and getting pulled for Ford in the 4th lol.
  21. His reps at 0 are a good part of why we don't get pressure. In the 30, with jake on the nose, our ends are double teamed virtually every snap. In the 40, we get man up more and really only get pressure with woods on. If we had cam lawson healthy and starting, with jake taking limited reps (15 or less on D not including short yardage) adams and woods on the roster and haba off we would see considerable improvement.
  22. Don’t know if you watched what was happening by… All of Thomas’ decent to good reps came as the 3 tech when woods was playing 0/1. Woods played sparingly, and the 30 front Jake on the nose sets are where we got gashed. When you align on the nose, getting back field penetration doesn’t mean you’ve succeeded as strange as that sounds. Because then both A gaps are wide open in the run game. That’s why rankin was gashing us with cut backs. 2 free guards roaming the second level at will. Thomas was able to push around korte, and shove him off to make a nice stop at the line once. But he wasn’t staying in the lane or pushing korte back into the pocket, he was twisting and wrapping around him. Jy had 6 dl dressed, 3 ends 2 ni dts, and we continually sub in an imp db with out using the NA player. He doesn’t have a choice. Tackles are not a success indicator. 20 tackles on 200 snaps isn’t good. How many sacks has the team recorded since june and where does it rank in the league? (Hint it’s last) Adam’s has 14 tackles 4 sacks in 4 less games with a fraction the snaps. Adam’s can also play any position and technique. Jake shouldn’t be off the roster, he should be rotating and used sparingly only as a 3 tech. When hes lined up off the line and it’s a passing play he can’t even run to the ol before the ball is thrown. Seriously.
  23. Bombers add db jordan toles to a futures deal. He’s a bigger cfl db, played S down south, I imagine they project him as a sam. Scored some tds in college, one big kr but not a volume return guy, blocked a couple kicks, not a crazy testing athlete but a two sport star (basketball) hs 4 star guy that was highly recruited. https://morganstatebears.com/sports/football/roster/jordan-toles/8480 https://247sports.com/player/jordan-toles-46050292/ https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Jordan-Toles-S-LSU
  24. Agree. I mean, back in they day they used to consider scraps in TC a good thing. Even scraps in practice when a team was struggling was shined up. When Bounty gate happened in the NFL lots of guys were open about it being a common practice up here. Belli talked a bunch about it back then, and brown too. The name of the game when it came to pass rushing was QBing Killing. You had coaches teaching players the best ways to hurt a QB and knock them out of the game. The difference now, aside from allegedly trying to try to protect qbs and prone players, is that we see the sideline all the time and have HD replays on a whim. You didn't see nearly as many close ups of the sidelines back in the day, or have such open access to players on social media. The culture of football has softened and become far friendlier, and no place more so than coaching. Dickenson and Maas are the biggest complainers with the poorest sideline conduct in the league right now. And both have been coaching up here a long time.
