I would think so, the on the field product turn around has been really good considering the hot mess they were. They are on track to be a really good team next year if they can get consistent QBing. Idk its not like the argos were gonna move to another field what option did they have? I hate the situation with fan support in TO.

Its really strange though that we went to him and perez after pulling mauro. He hasnt been cut, but some thing has to be up there. Maybe the dbs getting nicked a little bit as them spooked into wanting an extra DB. Too bad though mauro looked good on cover. The first game against the elk we had the offense rolling towards a blow out with quick screen passes and timing routes. I wouldnt be surprised to see a little bit of that setting up a pump n go or similar deep threat.

I wonder if they kept a lot of BS with him bottled up last year, or if he just gets like this during skids. Either way he's way ahead on the poor mans casey printers progression map. "Hey coach I know weve been to 3 straight bowl games, but I want more throws so I can get to the NFL!" "uh, nah casey. This Ladainian tomlinson kid is pretty good, so we're gonna keep pounding the rock..."

Yeah its really strange, I dont know why they bought the argos in the first place. We've heard extensively from the new owners in mtl and bc about how they are working to rebuild the fan base. MLSE hasnt said jack. They also have 6 million people in the GTA. And not many of those sports over lap. Toronto has no issues with drawing fans to other entertainment events either. BC doesnt have the NBA, or MLB drawing against the lions. If the jays moved a minor league affiliate to toronto, they would do great. Youd be amazed at how many jays fans went from TO to buffalo to watch the AAA team play pre covid. Thats a crazy good combination indeed. Good luck running up the middle on those guys now. I expect to see a surge in oakmans sack production too. Assuming drake is fairly close to 100% in health and has the rust shaken off. I didnt get the watch the game last night, was shane ray invisible again or did he get any pressures?

Look at the wrs who have had great short careers and gone to the NFL though. Thats the missing factor. The 6'3 and bigger guys that excel here go to the NFL. how do you think a full career of chris mathews up here wouldve looked? Guys who are 6'4+ and are fast enough to be a threat at WR are rare. Go back 10 years and they are frightfully rare. You get the odd randy moss or megatron but those are extreme outliers. Most guys who are that big and not twig thin end up bulking up and playing TE or DE down south. Length, and jumping is more impactful than height. But you seldom have a guy who is 6'0 with a giant 6'6"+ wing span, who can also jump to make up for the difference and has the speed and the skills. Fact is its more efficient for CFL teams to find wrs between 5'10 to the low 6'0 range. When I see a 6'0 190lbs wr get signed I immediately expect them to be either very balanced and polished, or extremely athletic, or extremely skilled. When you sign a guy, like agudosi, who is 6'6, has adequate speed, great length and good jumping, you know he's going to be at an advanced age with less experience (28 before the next season begins, 2 pro catches, only 35 total catches in college) and need a lot of polish. And even then, 1 solid year and he would get an NFL camp invite. Staying out of the NFL lane for prototypical WRs means you get guys who are more pro ready, and keep them longer.

This is the curious point. They have very much the same skill set and limitations. But Mcknight is young and has a lot of football ahead of him. If roosevelt is still behind after a month +, its a bad sign. Maybe they feel like they cant get another vet wr, or good nfl cut up in time and want the extra body for a worst case scenario? I trust out scouting 100%. But we make some funny decisions with over the hill vets every year. This is the best year for that by far though.

Our offensive play call since then is night and day. I was pretty worried about buck early on. The last month ish has been very good. Yeah It could favor his skill set more. He isn't breaking a bubble screen for a big gain.
-
they only get pay during half the year too, its basically like a regular person losing almost a month of salary. Quality player, great person. No matter how his career goes, he has done the team and city proud.

That ass hole has got to go. holy crap how was this not bigger news. QFT. the job of the media is not to pander to the team or step softly. its been rare, but a couple of times we've seen bob question the leadership of the organization in dark days. no media should ever sell out their integrity. have you seen some of the roasting local NFL affiliates dump on their teams and players? What he said isnt edgy at all.

Id be happy if he did, but even more surprised if he did. He isnt a burner by any means. He's got jamie stoddard speed. He's a polished possession wr. You have to put his college tape into perspective. Samford is a legacy team being over 100 years old. Before the 80s they had football for like 2 years at d3 in the 70s and thats it. They went from d3 to iaa in the 80s. Theyve won 2 play off games all time, and both where in the same year. They are a kick around team for other small schools like delaware and kennesaw state. If any thing, think robert gordon for his upside. Not fast or flashy, but a tough, smart, polished guy with hands. His fast 40 time is mid 4.65 which is wolitarsky zone, and his slow 40 was 4.83 which is great if you are a 300 lbs lineman. Illness, oh snap crapple and pop I hope its not covid. Love seeing woli full time. Wonder if sergio will draw out in favor of maruo.

I thought McKnight might get the look. Though I hoped other wise. Yeah don't see many diminutive possession wrs. I'd a rather seen agudosi. Namaan is low risk low reward. He'd a been my 2nd choice. Honestly idk why we would keep namaan around if he'd behind McKnight. He doesn't have a high upside and if he's still figuring things out after a month plus he probably isn't a good fit. We move guys around a lot. We did it even more vs bc but ya.

Idk I struggle with free time especially right now. Profession and family leave me with few big blocks of time right now.

touch down, winnipeg blue boomers!! 😆

He's a high 4.5 guy. It's pretty fringe speed. His field speed is a bit better than that number, similar to demski, but he'd be on the mid to slower end of imps on most any cfl wr core. He has a really well tuned stride. He's clearly put a ton of work into it. He changes gears better than most any one. He uses the speed cut, and pressure step expertly. Like milt, he's maximized his physical tool set to an exceptional degree. He doesnt have the quickness to make guys miss from a stand still (like blink), or the acceleration to gash through cut back lanes (like stokes), but his top gear is pretty good. With his ability to create cushion and his top gear, past the 40 yard mark, he can escape guys who are faster than him. He isnt a speed tool guy. He isnt a guy you could toss a screen to and watch him run away from the entire defense and score, or out run an angle with just speed. He isnt explosive and able to jump cut to make defenders look stupid. He's a smooth, crafty, professional wr. If lucky had his polish and craftiness, (or if darvin had luckys speed tool) he'd be a pro bowl wr. Its kind of funny, we have such freak athletes at DB and on D, but at wr we look for a totally different package. the 5 fastest players on our team are all on defense. Kyrie probably out run all of our wrs in the 40. Grant is explosive with great acceleration and top end speed. But nick taylor is easily our fastest guy. He'd roast any of our wrs in a foot race. even grant. Idk. On one hand I can kind of get why he was fired. But on the other, he doesnt work for the elk. In this situation steele comes off sympathetic for being honest and reporting the truth. The elk come off poorly but the radio station comes off smelling like a turd imo.
-
gotta be honest though. most of our wrs, basically all of them out side of demski are in the duke level of speed. We got a lot of high 4.5 to 4.7 runners who are well balanced big and strong rather than quick or fast. (as of yet grant isnt a wr he's just a kr) But yeah I mean he's a horrible fit for them. I dont think he's gonna be very happy in sask. I read today he's not yet reported and they are hoping he will be in for the game after their bye. He's barely gonna end up playing at this rate. Thats his secret. If wr's dont have a chance to catch your deep ball, dbs sure as hell wont either. crazy like a fox.

Hands of stone cloman too. It worked out for him in the end. He wasn't much of a qb but man he's had a good coaching career afterwards.
-
Doesn't matter if your qb can't get it in your area code.
-
Qft. It was one of the wildest championship runs ever. What a ride.
-
Hes never maintained it but he's been a really good deep threat. He's like Chris brazzell
-
before the injury sure. 😛 Mookie mitchell should be on the list too.
-
https://www.goelks.com/injury-report/ Looks like the elks will be fairly healthy, to start at least.
-
hope we get an injury update today.

I loved him as a player. Always wanted him in blue n gold. Friggin beast of a man. SJ green had some hands on him too.

Stegall. Jake Wieneke has the sickest grabs in the league today. But even his great leaping efforts are stuff you expected Milt to make. The end zone hit in mid air and snags the ball while falling to the ground vs the riders is in the top 2 craziest catches ive ever seen. Against toronto, he tipped a deep ball with his left hand then secured it with the same hand while extended, but maintained stride and scored a td burning 3 argos defenders. Every year for atleast 12 or 13 years you could argue milt had the best catch of the year. And half the years, you couldnt even argue against it. On top of the circus act, he had the fewest drops of any wr ive ever seen. Pass thrown well behind him? No problem he will just reach back and catch it with his off hand with out breaking stride. Shoe laces? no matter he got it. Hung out to dry way up in the air, he will get it take a hellacious hit and keep possession. The joe jurevicious tip catch and randy moss one hand stab with the raiders got nothing on milt. Also, milt played in an era when you could mug receivers. The only era harder to be a WR was before the 5 yard bump rule. He played with the weakest assortment of qbs of any hof wr in any league.

To also put this into perspective, the guy who maimed my mother for life had his drivers taken away for 1 year. Then he had to pay a very high cost to get it back, 2-3 grand. His parents paid it. He didnt miss any days of work or get fired. He wasnt arrested or charged. I lived in a small town and went to school with his younger brother, and at an earlier point he dated my sister. He bitched and moaned endlessly to all who would listen about not having his license and the cost of his insurance. My ex's dad got soo many tickets and DUI's they took his drivers permanently. (he was intoxicated and flipped his truck on a back road in the middle of summer for the "final straw") Only he drove long distances for work. And his boss hired a high end lawyer who was able to get it knocked down so he could drive for work for 3 years then got his full license back. They listed his residence as his cabin, and since he worked all over basically every car ride could be considered work. I can share too many stories like that. I take DUI very seriously, and personally. Our society does not. Drive around the south east of the province and youll see more intoxicated drivers than drivers on their phone on the weekend. Most people arent good or bad. Every one makes a bad decision every now and then. Lawlers actions past this point will forever come under a greater deal of scrutiny. If he has a minor issue, he may get passed over completely by the NFL and miss out on his window. Half way through this year he's on track to get an NFL deal. If this went worse, he couldve been out of football for good. Id say the punishment, and potential further punishment is in line with the crime. Far, far more so than it is for most civilians.
