agree 100%. Legs should just need time to settle in. Kicking is crazy hard mentally. Instead of 40-60 snaps on offense / defense you get maybe 10 kicks a game including kick offs and XPTs. The wind in the BJB really seemed to mess with both kickers. At the game it didnt feel like it was a 1 direction thing either, it was frequently gusting and swirling. I worry a bit that all 3 jobs might be too much for him to pick up at once, but maybe the frequent reps at many jobs help to calm him down and recover from misses. I cant say. I think he needs some coaching up in terms of kick offs and directional punting. But that might be some thing he gets in the off season. A lot of kickers and punters work with other guys in their areas in the off season and thats a really big time when kickers sharpen their tools. We are also extremely lucky that unlike previous years we dont need our kicking game to be lights out in order to compete. Right now our offense is productive and our defense is soo dominant the STs are really complimentary. I do hope we see some improvement this year though. It wouldnt be bad if they could pick up a Kicker/punter coach to come in and train legs up. Boudreau is more of a kick cover, and kicking game plan coach. Its like having an OC that isnt a QB coach and wasnt a QB, with a young qb, and no QB coach.

First week of fall GDT: non-Bomber bye week games

Agree. The riders have trouble cashing in TDs, and the lions D has been 2nd best at giving up points. The lions by contrast are a strong scoring offense and the riders D is not stout especially in the secondary. I think this game is where we see the second divide form in the west. With the lions firmly in 2nd place. -

Of course. Adaptability is plops greatest weakness. If I was desjardin or above Id go to plop and if he didnt want to pivot to a developmental game plan Id can him. Have dyce or wylie take over as HC, and steve walsh (No relation to bill walsh) take over as OC. -

The two teams with the best QB depth became teams with the worst QBing, out side of ott. I wonder if Kevin Glenn is gonna make an appearance this year. -
I havent seen 1 snap that wouldve caused medlock to miss. Ali cant hit from the hashmarks. Legs, I think he just struggled with the wind. Id love to see a clip example of a snap that some one thought cost our kicker a clean attempt. Or a hold. As of yet I havent seen the holder or snapper equivalent of what our kickers have been doing. Dropping the ball and snapping it way high or out side.

100%. -
We wouldve had a chance to win the Tor game. 7 point game we missed 2 fgs. But 1 of the issed fgs set up a TD for Tor. Thats a 13 point swing. We also had a brutal 36 net yard punt average, and our kick off distance was the worst for any team this year. 56 yard average kick off on 5 kick offs. Toronto averaged 70 yards per kick off. That game was the classic medlock is the difference between winning and losing example. Our offense had its worst performance of the year, and our defense gave up the most points it has in forever. But we were still close enough that average kicking might have won it. Medlock wouldve easily won it.

Long time ago I heard a variation of a business joke told about football. A new coach is hired to try and right the ship of an under performing team. Before the old coach leaves he gives the new coach 3 envelopes and tells him; "when things get bad, open one read it and follow the instructions." The new coach mostly forgets about the envelopes. The season starts out ok but a losing streak ensues and the team is maligned by the media. Remembering the letters he goes and opens the first, it says; "Blame the media." The next day the coach holds a press conference and blames the medias harsh criticism for his teams under performing. The media backs off a bit and the players are able to relax a bit more. At first they do better but before long they are back to their losing ways. After a couple months the media is back on him and the team harder than ever. So he goes and opens the 2nd envelope. It says; "blame the fans." The next day at a press conference he blames the lack of fan support. "It feels like every game is an away game, we have no home field advantage!" After that the fans come out in droves, but are quick to turn on the team and its coach with every slight miss step. Now feeling more pressure than ever and hearing rumors of the team replacing him with his assistant mid season, he goes and opens the last envelope. It says; "Prepare 3 envelopes." Desjardin should prepare 3 envelopes. Plop Isnt far behind Desjardin. He should go to the president with an envelope that says, I blame Desjardin. -
One more bad game from our kickers and fans are gonna start bringing horses to try and sell to the team.

Those poor kids got more going for them then that cmon lol. Their qbing this year looks like the guy who started the season in FNL but after the injury. Id bring in jamel lyles to the RBs too. Dedmon, rj harris and coombs as primaries. DJ foster rotate with lyles and use some 2 back set, move coombs around like we do with demski. Even try petey in that role. With jana they'd have great depth at NI wr and ability to rotate guys or start extra NIs. It'd be a versatile and dynamic balanced offense. Christion could run some streveler type option stuff. Roll extra bodies to protect him and hodges. Slowly develop plays for each of them. Run it like pre season give em 10-15 plays that they've practiced and are tailored to their strengths. If things start to get ugly toss davis to the wolves. -

There isn't an air lift big enough to fix them. Either you try to trade for a guy like mbt Arbuckle or Masoli or you dedicate to developing the two rooks on the pr. If I was them I'd try to trade for either of Toronto rbs ****** terrell Jana off the riders pr and try to get a back up guard from another team that's really good in the run game. -

A murder. They'd do a murder. That's why we don't play them. That whole franchise would collapse and fold under the weight of one game vs our d. -

Soo twice ish in 40 years. Not odds Id want to bet on. I have a feeling no matter what ott does or doesnt do it's going to be a dumpster fire next year too. We've had some good ones over the years. Hands of stone cloman is one of my favorites too. At this rate our kicking game this year is going to merit such a moniker. -
The whole ott dispersal draft and spreading of talent profited the bombers far more than any other team. We ended up with the korey banks fiasco, but got use out of henri childs, we traded brad banks away, we ended up with jerome haywood, and we stabilized our OL. We ended up with kyries hebert as well. It was crazy good for us. QFT
-
We've always had a knack for finding the meanest OL in the league. Suhk Chunghs scouting report probably just said, "HE MEAN." (Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ offensive guard Drew) Desjarlais is such a s*** disturber. He’s so nasty in the trenches. God, I wish we had him on our team. From 3dn today. I think thats the biggest advantage desjarlais has. He's the nastiest guy on the field every game. We have various linemen down field blocking in the run on most every play. But no matter what, DD is coming up from behind the play to punish any one he can. Every single snap. https://3downnation.com/2021/09/22/insider-talk-hamiltons-qb-injuries-the-cfls-best-canadian-receivers-winnipegs-s-disturber/

I agree. Big heads are gonna roll. Not just plop. Maybe not plop at all, but I do tend to think a new guy will bring in his own people. I believe it still counts for the year if they are fired. Im guessing not if they are suspended like in TOR, but I dont know for sure. I honestly dont know what to expect next from ott. Its such a dumpster fire any thing is possible. Has any one won 2 games or less and not been fired mid season or even in the off season? -
I dont think either was dirty, though agitators tend to get the dirty moniker. Mos drew a lot of penalties especially from OL. Both were loathed by opposition fan bases to a great degree. I remember a bit being made of it when he came here. But it goes away quickly when that type of guy is on your team. Coach or otherwise.
-
He did, but I dont think it was ever announced what happened. I presume they settled out of court. I agree. He had a lot of borderline hits too though. Basically his career was hitting. He walked the line. He was an agitator and pushed the limit as far as he could. Be he was always smart about it. He was ejected a couple times but I think thats it.
-
Yeah, I never liked schultz especially after that. If youre gonna do it, fine, but do it equally. Yeah that was him. He had a bunch of real dirty shots. Im sure Loffler was high on the list for a lot of none bomber fans in recent years too.
-
Schultz but yeah. He had the TSN camera crew run an iso camera on dyson and showed all his dirty plays. Which considering the limited and awful TSN camera work back then is a pretty serious move. On one had I objected to it. He shouldve then done it to guys like jimenez and murphy, or philion. On the other, dyson needed to go.
-
Beat me too it. FK ed philion. It guts me that hes a respected media guy now, and covers the als led by khari no less. Dyson was a dirty guy no doubt. Thing was he was also talented. He couldve made a go of it if he gave up the cheap shots. Dave donaldson probably very disliked by a lot of other teams too. AJ gass was widely hated. Mike O'shea was one of the most hated players of his era too. Bill romanowski in the NFL is probably as close as it gets. John rocker in baseball was hated by soo many people.

100%. If they think plop is their guy still, they should commit to him. If not they should send him packing now and focus on next year. -
Too many violent outbursts to list. But they involving going into the stands, and fighting everything from players to officials. He would sharpen the spikes on his cleats then slide for guys legs and do absolutely anything that would give him an edge or a chance to injure an opponent. 2 of the worst events though include going after hecklers. One was mid-game. The tigers were batting and he jumped into the stands and knocked the heckler down. He then kicked and stomped the man with his spiked cleats. A teammate yelled at him to stop because the man had no hands, lost in an industrial accident though he kept 2 fingers on one hand the other hand and fingers were gone, to which he retorted I wouldnt care if he had no legs too! He was eventually dragged off by fans and team mates. He was suspended indefinitely for this but the tigers refused to play until he was reinstated and the league caved to the demands. Previously he went after a fan right as a game ended. He was on deck as the game ended and a heckler in a wheelchair was assaulted. Cobb went after him with the baseball bat. He claimed the guy called him half black, and said it wasnt a big deal because the guy himself was half black. But not in those exact terms. "Cobb . . . was a scary sociopath. The mere sight of black people so filled him with rage that, on several occasions, he brutally pistol-whipped African American men whose only offense was to share a sidewalk with him" There are several books that go in depth about the horrible nature of ty cobb. He once choked out an ump in a fight that happened in the stands. A black groundskeeper tried to shake his hand, then choked his wife when she tried to defend him. It wasnt just black people and hecklers though. He assaulted his own sun with a bullwhip for flunking out of school. Hes just the worst.

Almost certianly right. If I was ott I would either fire plop now, and take this action or sit him down and say this is the direction we wanna go, if you do it, you 100% will be back next year as HC. Its well known that the difference between a bad team thats turning it around and going to be good, and a bad team is losing close games. But another big difference is a bad team knows when its sunk, and instead of sulking through a season or clinging to an inane hope of a magical turn around, focuses on developing young guys. We saw it in 15 a bit here. Lots of guys got great chances to show what they could do and develop. The worst teams keep running it out there hoping to suddenly become good over night. -

I was thinking if they go to hodges this year they probably win 1 more game. Rookies usually manage to pull out 1. If I was the RBs I would spend the rest of the season focusing on developing a couple young guys. Id dress 3 qbs with Davis as the sacrificial lamb, Hodges and Christion as the projects. I would give those 2 situational drives. First drive of the game, first drive of the half, some garbage time etc. Send em in with max protect schemes and limited options. Like 3 wide and 1 rb. Ease them in and prep them for next year. Try and get them maybe 10 passing reps each or some thing. Then let davis take the brunt of the load out side of that. Treat some games like pre season so you can figure out what you have. Id work on developing dedmon as a rb too. He looked pretty good in those limited reps, and he has the kind of skill set to excel in that role for plop. Put guys like behar and peterman in situations to excel. Auclair too. I thought the same thing. I hate mid week games.
