Legs is 9th in average punting yards, and 9th in average kick off yards. The average NET yards punting are 8th, and .1 yards off last place. His Net yards have been spiraling down. The last 3 games hes struggled to be above 30 yards net per punt. When your punt yards gained is in the 20 range you may as well just go for it on 3rd down. The problem with his punting is he kicks it between the hash marks and makes it easy on returners. He doesnt use the side line well to help his cover team. He's also shanked too many punts and kicks offs to this point. They arent going to give up on him any time soon, but his punting and kick offs are bad. He leads the league in total yards because he leads the league in total punt and kick off attempts. I wouldnt be surprised to see the new american kicker on the roster soon. I think itll take a full failing of that and further implosion by legs to get some one like lirim here sadly. I dont think Mourtada is going to punt.

The 2001 OC was rick worman. 2000 was an OC by committee. From then till late in his career here khari called his own plays. He and AC where about the last to do it. -
That guy is such a damn clown. Addition by subtraction and we got a really good db.
-
It interesting, he doesnt have a lot of experience but made pretty good use of the NFL remote coaching program for kickers. They worked over time to dig this guy up. Should be interesting to see how he does. Getting him and bryant was massive. You dont often have two winning successful guys like that who are willing to commit fully to a young team like that. Mo leggett was a rookie that year, but he was a big part of establishing bomber football too. It sucks those two missed out on getting rings.

I think we will see harker and maybe lynch. But I also think we will see how qb friendly that system is. And how minimal the requirements are to run it.

He was 100% canned here twice, canned in sask, hamilton, toronto and about to be sacked again in ott. He got promoted in sask, because of the austin and doug berry mess above him. Thats it. The CFL loves to recycle. Especially coaches, and OCs. Do you remember the last paopao come back? If youve ever held a coaching job in the CFL and arent over the hill in age (some times even still) you can float between jobs. Going from a HC to a WR coach under 3 guys with HC exp is about as far as you can fall and stay in the league. -
Our old buddy rich stubbler is gonna be running the TO defense this week while jones does his quarantine. Might be time to start putting money on the riders lol.

So darby for pretty much free.

Yeah missing starting qbs hurts every one . Masoli has been on the 1g injured list. But he will have to be revoked, david watford went in for them this week. He's the only other qb they have on the roster. So unless they ****** a vax'd qb from another teams PR or trade for one, they wont have enough.

The teams record when youre on it doesnt much matter, if youre carried. If you think he was any thing less than carried by offensive talent in his first go around, then D, medlock, harris and the OL the 2nd your fooling your self. Or maybe just trolling idk. Who knows why every team in the league keeps firing the guy on average after 2 years. You should maybe call around and tell them the spiel about the GC ring and play off games. Great teams have won at all levels in all leagues with poorly run and in effective offenses. Youd be hard pressed to find a worse passing team in a year to win the grey cup. Probably have to go back to the wing T era. Just because we won, doesnt mean we didnt carry plop. If we had a good or great OC, we have another grey cup and a fist full more play off wins. -

Tim burke 2.0. But sad for every one involved he fell into juuust the right circumstance to squeeze enough wins out to over achieve. And had the right fan base to hype them into the stratosphere. Not to mention just the right tools at qb to make up for not being good.

He did though. He forced them into his role. They couldve done more in a better system that played to their strengths. As much as possible, khari and milt pushed out side the boundaries of his system. You should also go back and see the amount of plays khari called in 2002. And audibles made. You dont seem to understand the difference between changing for the sake of change, and working wrinkles in and setting up progressive plays. You screen/hitch then you double move screen / hitch and go. Plop screen / hitched 90 times, then threw an out. He ran inside zone read from pistol/gun 90 times, then he ran a direct snap inside zone read. The defense takes away the screen pass, you adjust by play action screening one side, and jail break screen or liberty hand off to a jet sweeper. Ocing is about tendencies. You have to have plays that break your tendencies, and you have to have plays that your tendencies set up. So when teams take away your bread and butter you can have steak. Plop has never understood that. He has tendencies, if the D takes them away he keeps on going to them. To shake them up he mixes in random un related tricks and gadgets. And generally I love tricks and gadgets. But he used them worse than any other OC in the last 20 ish years. People hate mediocrity. More then epic failure. Maybe gary crowton or one of a mix of OC by committee was the worst Ocing we ever saw in bomber ville. But the most absolutely mediocre OC with no signs or seeming interest in improving was plop. Its worse in pro sports to be mediocre than bad. You can turn bad around fast, mediocre stays that way for a long time. Mike kelly and sean salisbury had great accolades and grey cup too. Then milt, brown, blink and khari didnt get one. Doesnt mean they are good or where better. Dont forget too, the bombers had the greatest turnover forcing defense in league history, and most field goals ever to carry the mediocre passing game. And an excellent resurgent qb to carry our passing game to the GC. Nichols and plop should split their ring with Mo leggett and some others. Plop is the poster boy for mediocrity. -

Soo much this, streveler was a dual threat qb, but a great throwing prospect. Not just some athletic guy who could slot in at qb. For an oc to make a guy worse is the worst thing to do. And with out question he did that to streveler. This just in, getting the best RB in the league is good for ocing. More news at 10. Idk how any credit can go to plop involving harris. He was a beast before we signed him. Demski was finally the fit he wanted. But dressler in the jet sweep was poor. The guy was also ran into the dirt on those plays. He was dynamic but he wasnt really good on those. He easily couldve played a couple more years if not for that. And been more healthy when we needed him. Plop is the only OC ive ever known to have every teams fan base love his being fired. Theres a reason why the guy averages a new team every other year and fell out of the league for 5 years. -

That deep atack wasnt plop. The screen passes to rbs and heavy run up the middle no matter what, that was plop. Khari, like collaros in the play off run threw guys deep at times, and threw away from the look. You can see it a lot actually if you watch the wrs when collaros is throwing long you can see the patters nichols frequently threw. Having 1 guy deep, isnt a down field passing game. Its running off the saftey and corner / db. A deep threat passing game has multiple deep routes like the famous 4/5 verts run n gun. He had an offense with the most productive backfield in history, the best wr and an elite qb. And got fired lol. He didnt turn durant into a prolific passer. Plop was the oc in 08 and 09. in 08 durant had 1100 yards 7 picks 6 tds. 4k 25 and 21 in 09. Plop gets fired. Durant instantly throws for 1200 more yards and a full yard more per attempt. His best play came after plop, inspite of him. You look at all those early picks, thats a guy trying to force the ball down field with very limited targets down field to throw to. He made piss poor use of streveler. He tried implementing RPO/zone option late in the 19 season. Before that we faked the option. And the attempted implementation was bad. When streveler was in for us he mostly ran for his life. Nichols could run fine when he got here. He had the monster 50 yard run in 17 when he put up 200 yards rushing. Harris is a fast tough runner. He has solid power, but his running strength is hands down off tackle. He's much better stiff arming line backers and dbs than running through the gaps. He is still good at that, and not limited by any means. But we hardly ever use or used him off tackle. He cuts back or bounces out side on closed gaps and tears defenses apart. Being such a strong receiver as well, you could do serious damage down field throwing to him. What wil lber is gonna be able to cover him 10 yards + down field? As for examples of guys we used poorly or not at all the list is gigantic. From lucky, to dressing Flanders as a DI for 12 ish games and almost never using him. We never used 2 backs, we never moved harris to slot and brought flanders in didnt spell harris with flanders nothing. We wasted a DI for a ton of games. Can you imagine what harris at slot motioning the jet sweep would open? -
100%. Some guys may grow into being a head coach, but dickenson is too fatally flawed. He isnt a leader and you cant make him one. He's like the anti maas, but they are soo opposite they have the same effect in the end. Maas is un disciplined wild and angry. Dickenson is undisciplined and kind of a slimy little guy with out a solid fiber in his being. Coaches should always be held to some extent responsible for melee's. Much more so when that coach is negligent in team discipline continually.

They can run in small amounts exceptionally well. Because the backs can carry that. The OL however cant carry the load of doing it when teams know its coming. Foster has 16 carries in 3 games, and white has 54 in 5 games. Youre talking 10-12 running plays a game. When youre pushing 20 consistently defenses occupy gaps, run blitz etc to counter the run. Nearly all of torontos runs we didnt have guys covering each gap. Every time TO runs its basically the effect of a draw on defenses. Almost a trick. If they increased the work load 50% defenses would change how they play them and take it away. They would have to double their run game in order for it to carry them.

https://3downnation.com/2021/09/13/ottawa-redblacks-sign-former-dallas-cowboys-receiver-terrance-williams/ Ott brings in a good nfl vet wr. Too bad the poor guy doesnt stand a chance.

The bombers were only a 3rd place team due to injuries, we wouldve been the top team other wise. But we were a bit of a miracle. If collaros wasnt insanely good we wouldnt have won. A contender is a team that you expect to win play off games and be in the grey cup. Our team in 2019 was a contender, then injuries derailed us, and one of the greatest player come backs of all time left us better then we started. I expect TO to make the play offs in the 3rd seed, with heavy pursuit from a cross over team, and lose a close game in the east semi or lose by a lot in the east final. Vernon adams doesnt need to have a stellar background. On that team, he doesnt even need to be very consistant. They can run the ball extremely well. To, can run well in limited touches. They dont have a line that can run the ball 25 times a game to win. They have the back, but not the OL or the system for that. Vernon adams has shown that he can take over games by him self. MBT, and arbuckle havent shown that. The als dont need the same thing to win from their QB as TO needs from theirs. And despite needing less, Vaj has shown he can do more. If we didnt have cap space to just add him, the lber coach role could be taken off stanley. If we had to remove some one it'd probably be patterson at dl coach as a first year guy. He could be rolled into the organization in another role. IF its for refusing the vax, I wouldnt take him back. If he is vax'd Id take him back with open arms.

Looks like young is suspended along with their DB coach. Its being made out that they arent vaxxed MLSE is forcing all none CBA members (ie any one but players) to get vaccinated. Is young that type of guy? Idk but I would think and hope not.
-
With kongbo, jake, and hansen rotating. That'd be lights out. We'd get all the sacks. I like sayles and walker too, But damn. Actually we'd probably still carry a healthy 8+ dl any way Ahh I see glenn young is now not with the team as is their DB coach... sad.

They wont. They dont have the qbing to beat mtl or hamilton in the play offs. MTL plays ottawa 4 times this year. To gets ott twice, and edm in the middle of their 3 in 6 days. But for the argos that game only has 3 days rest between it and hamilton. If edm wins one of those 3 games thats gonna be it. Write it down and quote me on it at the end of the year. I love what the argos having going on roster wise and coaching up till this. They arent in a position to contend this year. MLSE doesnt give a damn about the cfl, or argos history. They'd be happy to pull the team out of the cfl and play in the XFL 3.0. Pinball and dinwiddie have some thing great brewing. If they can continue to develop an OL, run more, and get a steady QB they would dominate the east like hamilton did last year, but better.
-
I think its desperation by MLSE to drum up interest in the argos. They are a good team and on the right path, but they arent gonna be a contender this year. I think MLSE plans to axe dinwiddie and maybe pinball and give jones every thing he wants to try and replicate what he did in ssk in To. MLSE has no idea how to market or sell the argos. They've never had to work to sell sports. I suspect the RBs, or even edm, maybe ssk are all his fall back. If it doesnt pan out this year for him I can easily see one of those teams going to him hat in hand and giving him all he wants. Its not a dumb move for him, though it is a real douchy move. First I bet Shane ray bounced back from his 6 game stint on the IR much sooner then expected. After that itll be interesting to see if mccoil suddenly gets the majority of reps. And if his impact is just on D or of its on O too. I havent heard what his official role will be yet. I cant see jones and dinwiddie getting a long well. Id love that guy here. Idk how we'd fit him but hes a monster. Hes kind of an over all athlete than a 1 stand out trait guy. He's the future of DL physically. They wont all be sky scrappers like him though.
-
This smacks of MLSE to me, doesnt at all seem pinball esq.

Grant would be huge to get back soon. Plus his speed could be a serious aid rotating in the offense too. Im hoping he's heathly soon and able to practice for the bye week and be 100% for the game after. Since we signed namaan all the wrs have stepped up. They were all like oh cool, but I dont wanna be the one to go out for him. Darvin looked a lot better in the bjb, I think he just came back too soon and wasnt 100%. Next couple weeks I think he will settle in with zach and start being the deep threat he was a couple years ago. The bad penalties away from the play, some poor blocking, a lot of drops all seem to be heavily improved. Nothing can motivate and focus young pro's like bringing in a seasoned vet to compete for their job.
