  1. Harris is one of the best of all time. Both are top 5 guys. But for me, blink is no2 behind pringle. And its kind of an emitt vs sweetness thing. Pringle had the much longer career, but blink stack up blinks seasons with pringles best and blink was better in every single one. And he did it, with far less than harris or pringle too. Watch those clips of him and look at the names of his OL. Those were some crazy lean years for our OL.
  2. 100% for. They shouldve done it when they honored him a couple years ago. Didnt he have trouble getting across the border to do that? Might be hard to accomplish now idk.
  3. It does go both ways. Lots of times good and great systems make players look much better. Maas has covered up for fajardo a lot this year, and last year they did too. A lot of old 90s early 2k run and shoot ncaa qbs etc. Scheme can diminish talent. A perfect example is our WRs last year. This year lucky, demski, adams, woli, and lawler would be the best wr core in the league if used properly. Last year lucky spent half the year on the PR because all plop would do is use him to run off the saftey. If lucky sticks it out up here, hes gonna be way better than banks or chris williams ever where. Hes not just fast, hes quick. Woli is an example too. The guy doesnt just fail to get open then suddenly bust open when we throw it to him. He lives on an island thats hard to throw to and blocks in alot of our scheme. That was the long held standard. But in the modern day with teams ability to review plays at the bench and adapt, and how much study goes into film its a necessity now. If you look at any high level football OCs day plan the week of a game they spend 10+ hours installing new stuff to fit their weapons and to attack a defenses weakness. Lapo is antiquated in that sense, as well as lacking. Most offensive minded coaches come from a strong lineage in a style, usually today its one of three sytems, spread to pass, spread to run, and zone read style offenses. And the thing is, the depth of plays available and over lap is gigantic. And the roots are soo strong and deep if you lack in an area a phone call can net you 10 years worth of trial and error self learning. So if you dont have a flex guy that can block and run deep, or a guy who can rack up YAC and run sweeps or a back who cant run between the tackles or off tackle etc you can fill the gap in your play book with stuff thats just as good but fits the pieces you have. Plop is very much a self taught coach. He doesnt have those roots. Thats why he always just hammers away with the same stuff till he finds a player that fits what he does. Remember how many terrible jet sweeps we ran with dressler on his last leg and after dressler left till we found demski really good at them? 2 years of futility. Opposition defenses are gonna know what youre gonna run in the game for the most part. And they will know with decent certainty when you are running the ball. If you run sweep or fake sweep and dont have a guy who can execute sweep youre just hanging your players out to dry. In modern football you just have to be better than that. I hope buck improves. So far this year ive been underwhelmed by his play call. But Ocing/playcalling is the hardest coaching job in sports. And its his first year, so I hope he will grow and improve.
  4. I dont know how you can refer to that play and claim a double standard? VAJ was NOT a star and really still isnt, and that play was far worse. The swing of the helmet is what got him suspended. Its clearly written that swinging at some one will get you ejected. We see helmets pulled off by face masks a couple times a year. Fact is, helmets are seldom strapped on tightly these days. We see helmets go flying or hit the ground every 2 or 3 plays. Face masking is NOT an ejection, face masking and some ones helmet coming off is also not an ejection. Its pretty clear tbh. The riders were piling on harris, who never touched the ball, took him to the ground and were on him trying to injure him long after the play was whistled. He had to struggle to get up and the rider went after him as soon as he was up. If it happened on the street itd be pure self defense. The attack on demski shouldve been ejected. That was an attempt to injure. The riders also tried to go after WJ right after the sack that knocked fajardo out of the game. If willy had been a lone, or had not run to celebrate that OL wouldve clocked him from behind. Thomas stopped the cheap shot. They were still going at it when brady was in and ran all over them. This was 100% a riders instigated fight. 3 riders should be suspended, and maybe dicker too. He has failed to assert control over his teams actions the entire year.
  5. This is the best, and most dynamic QBing the bombers have seen in a very long time. Weve had some brief runs of great QBing in the semi modern era, but they always had a catch. Usually in the form of a lot of picks. But collaros doesnt have a catch. He protects the ball, he can make any throw, makes great choices and lets his wrs go up and make plays. And I think as the year goes it will only improve with play call and familiarity.
  6. Dont know if he does or not. But he is the RBs coach in toronto which is awesome. Thats a great guy for young RBs to learn from. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/episode-7-charles-roberts/id1533831658?i=1000501412601
  7. They'd have arbuckle rather than nichols, no flanders and probably wouldnt have the former bomber PR LT and turnstyle mcgloster starting. They wouldnt be averaged 5 yards per completion either. Would they be good? Hell no. Would they be better? no question. Idk how many coaches would think they could run the system plop is and does, with that OL and running back talent. OCs and HCs have to adjust their game plan to the pieces they have, and to the team they are facing. Buck has shown moderate signs of doing this. Plop hasnt showed any.
  8. Football offense has changed a LOT in the past 6 and 10 years. A lot of older COs cant cut it right now. John jenkins was one of the best spread offense minds in history and crapped out hard. Do you have any idea the pedigree gary crowton had? Do you know how much experience sean mcvay had when he became the youngest HC in modern history at 30? But hey lets fire buck and bring back Mike Kelly. Hes got rings and decades of experience! 😆 Lapo got fired in 2002 too. And no one complained in bomber land. The nichols offense also had the best average starting position in the league in 19 (we have the worst now) the most turn overs on defense, and the most rushing yards (we have the lowest rushing avg and 5th yards) the 19 nichols pre injury team also lead the league in 2 and outs and we are in the top half now for fewest. The nichols 19 pre injury offense was tied for 7th in passing yards. This year we are 2nd in passing yards. You put that offensive play call and that nichols in the position this teams offense is and we are F%^$ed.
  9. 2 monthes away I should hope grant will be healthy by then. I think he could come off the IR next week at earliest.
  10. Thats true, even when they have to leap like woli's great grab. They are leaping with their momentum. Not a lot of shoe laces or behind the back attempts. Collaros has the full tool set with his arm. All the strength you could want, the touch to drop balls over the shoulder, and the accuracy to thread the needle. Despite being 33, he has only 98 games player as well. Idk how many starts Id imagine 10 or so less than the max. If he stays healthy, and hes fought some minor bumps and bruises this year but not let them slow him down, we could have this level of play for a few years.
  11. RBs sign kenny stafford. If they wouldve also grabbed namaan they'd have some decent pieces in the wr core. But no wr is gonna save that offense. They need to send nichols packing, bring in another qb that can play in the cfl, and get a new rb to start. https://3downnation.com/2021/09/12/redblacks-sign-veteran-receiver-kenny-stafford/ Yet another former first round pick in the NFL is reporting to the argos. Dude is 31 and last played in 2017. I get going for high potential but dang. Coming back from being out of football for that many years is nuts. Its funny dinwiddie said if martavis bryant reported he didnt see him un seating any of their wrs. They bring in Wright, but I would hands down take the talent of bryant over him in a heart beat. I remember there being some issue with him getting his passport done n junk maybe he didnt want to go through quarantine or some thing. Braverman hit the 1g IR, maybe it means he will be out for a bit. But they got a stacked wr core as it is. https://3downnation.com/2021/09/12/former-first-round-nfl-draft-pick-kendall-wright-to-report-to-argos-this-week/
  12. Personally I like the horns, I dont use one but I probably should to save the throat a bit lol. I dont think it causes any particularly high chance of spreading vs yelling, or people cross contaminating by touching their cup or bottle to their lips touching it with there hands then touching every thing around them. I think the general nature of 33k people in tight quarters makes you prone to all kinds of undesirable things. Ive had beer spilled on me (im a teetotaler the smell of any booze is over powering in its strength) ive had guys fall out of their seat on me, spill food all over and had general ear ringing from all kinds of noise makers. I think it just kind of goes with the territory. It might be some thing worth having a section with out any of that kind of stuff though. The guys in front of us at the game got pretty tipsy but they were happy drunks. High fiving every one around with in reach. Some random guy behind me gave me a big hug at one point. Ive had soo many wonderful experiences with random fans at bomber games I wouldnt change any thing. Last year my old lady lost her phone in the stadium and she was freaking out. I called it and a nice old couple had found it, they met us at the st vital park and ride right away.
  13. Not a lot of that is designed plays though. The majority of the time zach throws on the run he's scrambling. If we used more play action boots it would work great though. Zacks ability to throw down field on the run is exceptional.
  14. Trestman has run lots of 5 verts and down field passing scheme with ac who was also a down field guy. He isn't a plop type he just adapts to his qb and Ray was the ultimate check down guy. People forget what he's done out side of that argos ray offense.
  15. Pro sports doesn't work like that. The majority of his runs were ugly cut back scrap through arms and tackles. You're bitter and letting it blind you.
  16. He is a CFL legend. He ran for over 10k yards in 8 seasons. Holy cow. He's one of the best rbs ever. Maybe the most dynamic offensive weapon in history. People need to go look at the all time rushing list and see who is above him and if you'd pick them over blink in his prime. He was 165lbs and played with some awful ols. If he had this offense to run in he'd smash every record in the book.
  17. A lot of that credit goes to Zach. He's doing much the same as he did in the play off run. If we had Marc trestman as our oc the offense would be a lot better.
  18. I can't say what it is. But it looks like he plays scared. His lack of production is crazy. If he fumbles atleast he will get the boot. I worry about us sticking with him for an extended period and constantly starting under the shadow of our own goal posts.
  19. Willy is the mayor of swaggerville but Harris is the mayor of riderville. He owns that $%@£ they can't talk football with out his name in their mouth. Just like we broke Brandon Banks and the ticats Harris broke criederville. And I love it.
  20. Cincinnati And simonise was with u cal dinos. I agree that they see more star players but the overall all level of play is lower. I think that's geographical and due to how many west coast kids play multiple sports for much longer.
  21. He doesn't do that more than grant or any good returner. He's the worst return man in the league. The no yards here n there don't come close to making up for that.
  22. Our run game has struggled alot in 4 of our 6 starts. We are not less 1 dimensional. We are more explosive and far better at cashing in majors.
  23. Edm is going to be an interesting match up. Team that struggles in the red zone vs the tightest red zone D ever. But they rack up a looot of yards on the ground and in the air. Could really use stove back. That said could be a banner night for our offense.
  24. Starting to realize they shouldve lost to BC, and barely beat ott who every one else has smashed. They are past the easy part of their schedule, and one of their byes. The bye week could be huge for us. A big chance to rest, and get healthy. Any one who struggles to say it is an idiot. The bombers arent just the best team in the league right now, they are head, shoulders, knees and toes above the rest right now.
  25. With out question. That guy never shied away from running head long into DL, never stopped fighting for extra yards and constantly turned plays that shouldve been a loss into 5-6 yard gains.
