  1. Hallet at s for ba is a big drop off. A 2nd injury or the dime package with 1 injury would mean Nelson is in coverage. We saw two dbs go down in 2019. It's also if some one needs a breather. Ba returns a pick 80 yards for a td the d goes right back out. I get why we can't have even depth I think it's more a league thing.
  2. I know. Nearly all will see rotational reps in the front 7 though to keep the main guys fresh. The dbs and wrs don't get that though. And we are an injury away from a pretty big down grade. 2 from being dicked
  3. we got 10 guys backing up 7 dl/lber spots. And we got 3 guys backing up 11 wr/db spots. Yep that seems about the usual.
  4. They start out as gotch, but if you dont change em they make you itch and turn into gitch.
  5. Depth chart is out. Rocquemore is back in, and dheilly draws in with him. Nelson surprisingly stays in at KR. Better luck next time. Briggs is still listed as the starter with 8 NIs. Couture is also still listed as starting C, I guess thatll be a game day decision and decide which OL is our scratch.
  6. I love the irony. Especially after the jones era when the riders had a rype group of convicts and ped users. I remember the UFC trying to test wanderlei silva and him jumping out a 2nd story window and running away bare foot in his gitch. I choose to imagine AC had a melon hat and rider pride gitch and did the same thing. Speedy b has been missing since the bombers deleted him in the GC.
  7. For me Id call an RPO (run pass option). Inside or outside zone run with an audible to switch from one to the other. One wr in isolation (lawler) on one side and trips to the other side. He can run an option route where he either finds the soft spot in the zone, or runs a deep double move in single coverage. Thing about zone cover is if you run deep enough it becomes man or youre wide open. The isolation also helps to expose the Ds cover scheme to an extent (Instead of just with motion), or play a hybrid man and zone. On the trips side if the defense stacks the box you can flex the TE (eli) out to wr and throw a screen pass with darvin, woli, and eli blocking. If they show Double or even S shade to lawler or play cover 3 you run the ball. You can even motion woli in for extra blocking or have him run to block a Lber. You can run portions or all of the snag concept in the RPO to create a quick high percentage throw on the 3 wide side. If the dbs stack up front you go over the top of them. If the HB/hbs stay deep you have a big screen play advantage. If the D cheats to any thing with its alignment you audible to attack the opening. With a heavy line, and an un balanced split spread formation they have to give up some thing. Man to man on the iso, limited over the top on the trips, not enough bodies at the line for the screen, or bodies in the middle to fill gaps. Normally Ds might have a complex scheme like rotating coverage, but in a hurry up that isnt likely, and if it happens it isnt as likely to be effective. Its hard to call that in at the line. Usually you see base defenses vs hurry up. Either blitzing or dropping. The goal is to get an extra OL on the field that creates a miss match. But even running the hurry up with coverage line up dictating play call / audible can leave a D reeling. And with a guy like Eli who is a 2nd level monster with great mobility you have a considerable miss match vs the 5th DL in virtually any team. You can also do that with out the OL and use woli as a regular flex TE. Sam is the hardest position on the field to play. Even the better sam lbers in the league arent guys you want in the box getting hit by a level jumping OL. Blms production is a considerable product of his system. Reilly is a system changer. Hes a throw back qb. Id take him hurt over healthy BLM. Reilly doesnt rattle. He doesnt whine or cry or moan or blame his team mates first chance he gets. Hes a better arm talent and a tough SoB to bring down.
  8. It was. Perhaps it was a mistake. I see couture listed under knee now too makes more sense. Any knee injury sucks to play through especially on the line. Luckily we have the deepest bench for OL in the league. I imagine Eli starts and gray is the 6th ol. Which makes you wonder who will be the healthy scratch.
  9. It's interesting. Just saw the official injury post for today. Couture is dnp but with no reason listed. From thorax injuries to gray constantly being full but for none football reasons this injury report thing is strange.
  10. The rash of holding calls had some really marginal Fouls. I dont think the organization would be coming down on him for it. I would imagine if any thing Couture is banged up. It takes a LOT for a favored vet to find his way to be on the outs with mos. Np. Mostly yeah. We didnt adapt and just got away from the run. We dropped a bunch of passes and couldnt over come that. We didnt really get our offense in a good sync in that game. Our offense is not designed to be pass only. Collaros elevates our offense but if we drop the run totally we need a whole other set of pass plays.
  11. Pretty much. Atleast they arent throwing Harris back to return kicks and punts. I feel like most proficient modern cfl return men arent burners and former track stars, but quick 1 cut runners Who get up to max speed quickly. I hope hes our mcknight in shining armor.
  12. RJ prince is another super athletic OT who moved inside and was also on the fringe of being a game day regular. The pats gave him a 2 year deal worth a million bucks this year. https://www.nfldraftdiamonds.com/2021/02/r-j-prince-2/
  13. Collins is a super athletic RT. When a 300 pound man runs 4.8 thats pretty good. If he ran a 4.7 we might look at him as a wr . 😆 That was top 3 all time 40 run by an ol at his combine. Kicked around with the vikings for better part of 3 years. Was in camp with 2 NFL teams this year. Clearly teams like what he can do. Thats a pretty good bluechip ol prospect. Apparently he was a front runner to start at Guard for the vikings last year. Must be really versatile. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/aviante-collins/3200434f-4c51-3500-47e4-1a8e6f8e328a
  14. Some one was talking about Mcgough being released recently. Looks like he got into some trouble down south. Pretty athletic, 4.6 40. The seahawks were pretty high on him at one point I believe. His analytics were pretty good in college. https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/seahawks/seahawks-take-a-quarterback-in-the-seventh-round-alex-mcgough-of-florida-international/ Ridder is a dangerous dual threat qb. A little break down on Ridder by JT o'sullivan who had a cup of coffee in the cfl. Hes in the top 10 for the Heisman race this year. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/desmond-ridder-1.html I noticed that too. It might be they arent releasing the names of the wrs they have to keep things under wraps. We all know how much the mafia loves secrecy.
  15. Payne (could be winner of name of the year for a lber) Athletic S imagine they are looking at him as a Wil. 7 NFL stints pretty good amount of time down there. Very productive in college. https://ras.football/2019/12/30/donald-payne-ras/ https://gohatters.com/sports/football/roster/donald-payne/1846
  16. Its strange for sure. Maybe they had him for a while and haven't dropped him? Or maybe they see some hole in his game thatll keep him out of the NFL. Not sure. Hayes was a dominant small school db, who has bounced around the nfl despite being 24. 27 Pass knock downs in his last 2 years pretty intense. https://appstatesports.com/sports/football/roster/tae-hayes/4849 Patterson is a track stud who started all his games. 47 tackles and 22 KDs in 18. Knee injury derailed his senior year.
  17. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/kendall-donnerson/3200444f-4e62-0788-8890-6c98452dbc5b Donnerson, wow Ive seen plenty of freak athletes but that guy takes the cake. 6'3 250. 4.44 / 4.48 40 (faster than any offensive player on our roster) 40" vert, 10'11" broad jump, 7.03 3 cone drill and 20 reps at 225. Finch is another questionable skill set big athlete. Not as polished or athletic as donnerson. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/sharif-finch/32004649-4e17-0565-4975-94c496a585be Wicker is an athletic DT. His senior year HS numbers are bananas. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/jojo-wicker/32005749-4331-1832-cd72-15d2cf41cf6c
  18. https://press.cfl.ca/ten-players-unveiled-from-each-cfl-teams-negotiation-lists-6inb71 An update to our Neg list. Aviante Collins OL Texas Christian Kendall Donnerson DL Southeast Missouri St. Sharif Finch DL Temple Tae Hayes DB Appalachian St. Alex McGough QB Florida International Manny Patterson DB Maine Donald Payne LB Stetson RJ Prince OL North Carolina Desmond Ridder QB Cincinnati JoJo Wicker DL Arizona State
  19. dare to dream. Actually not practicing at all on a thursday with a saturday game unless its a vet day for nelson Id bet hes not playing in the BJB.
  20. He'd be in to keep the DL body count high. It used to be Lbers this year its DL. Though mos said he wanted extra bigs because ssk runs extra linemen. He isnt an experienced cover guy, but when antigha is on cover he looks slow af. I imagine they will go db in for hallett if he isnt good to go. Its too bad Kramdi is hurt. He'd be ideal to come in. We really could use more NI teams guys. The bottom end of the NI depth is pretty thin right now.
  21. 100%. Browns writing comes off better because he polishes that stuff out a bit more. If he got with a voice / writing coach for a year he'd be the best thing going in canadian football media. I always enjoy what he writes and adds to OB, and its some thing we dont see from any one else. The players on the TSN panel all seem soo old and out of the loop. I love milt, and I enjoy what matty can bring. But man they all sound like they played with leather helmets.
  22. Thats what I would think. Which would be fantastic. Id think wilson will have more rust so maybe rocquemore starts and wilson rotates. Itd also be a good help to our special teams to have those two draw in. I would look at bringing in nick dheilly for tobi antigha too personally. Then we could swap a back up NI for a DI at wr, kr, or db. At this point the NI Id move out is Augustine. What ever you think of him he isnt gonna be used on offense unless both harris and brady go down. And he isnt by any means an impact guy on teams.
  23. Pain is relative. Tsn makes him feel down right pleasant. And when it comes to outside news for the bombers its take what you can get.
  24. True. His down fall has always been decision making. His playbook on its own wasnt a problem. It was his his rigidness to his system not making use of the weapons at his disposal, out thinking himself especially in the red zone, and general play call. Some people are just extremely risk averse. Its important to remember that plop came from a small d3 school and didnt have any kind of strong coaching lineage. Its alot easier to coach a dominant system when you've worked under some one who is prolific in one style of offense or another. And that hes only stuck in cfl jobs for a year or 2 at a time. This is like his 9th job in the league over 15 seasons. Its alot easier to be aggressive when you arent looking over your shoulder. And he always seems to be on the hot seat, or in the que to get on it. Poor bastard has gone willy coyote right through the end of the road. Any one wanna bet he becomes a plop disciple coaching qbs then the same kind of offense?
  25. Brown is an under appreciated gem in the CFL. Honestly, he should be on the TSN panel. He'd be the best guy hands down.
