  1. At trueblue. Those are the same low points I have but with a slight adjustment. For me the dark ages of the reinbold era was the baddest. Thing is though i actually really liked Jeff. He was a guy you wanted to win and win with. Knowledgeable hard working passionate. He is a great dude. I'm very happy he's doing well in Hamilton. That era seemed hopeless. Like we were a d4 team playing top tier d1. And it nearly killed the franchise. Mike Kelly wasn't as bad an era team but he was the worst guy to be a bomber hc. I truly hated him. I watched the games and that was it. Mack offered at first a slight hope for being better. In the end he was just a different flavor of egomaniac. He'd rather be right than win. American expansion also generated a lot of low points for me. From Dunnigan leaving to Baltimore winning. We had some good teams in the us era but man I hated it. Atleast in the Ritchie era it felt like we had the right people running the team.
  2. What's worse is we had finally found some speed last year and never made good use of it. Whats strange is our core isn't fast but also it isnt a big core either. Woli is huge agudosi is tall and Lawler has very good size. But for the most part we don't find quick fast or big wrs.
  3. As with Nichols stats don't tell the whole story. The system he's in and his proficiency in that system with the weapons he had conflate his numbers. His accuracy and decision making wasn't not good. The down fall didn't just start.
  4. 1 post. Best post since the GC win. Gj you win the internet today.
  5. On track for doesnt mean much after the games are played. for 1/3rd plus of the season nichols was on track for like 40+ tds. BLM would be on track for 30 some picks this year. And half as many tds. Out side of ravaging a couple soft secondary's in 19, (including ours) he was pretty meh. If you pro rated those games over a season, youd have about as bad a year as hes on track for this year. 2019 stamps WR core was pretty freakin good, their ol was good and their running game was under rated. They didnt pound it but they had a really nice rb by committee.
  6. For me, a lot of the gloss was off khari after 2002. 03 khari was pretty damaged. 04 was toast. 05 and 06 blink was still one of the best offensive threats ever. Khari was maybe the most likeable qb and bomber qb in 50 years. He felt much more like our guy than a guy like Dunnigan to me. Khari pretty quickly in 04 seemed like a guy who was destined to shine brilliantly but not for a long time.
  7. yeeep. Maybe delmonaco and maier go to ottawa in the offseason. Idk where Id put BLM on the all time list, but either way I dont think hes been that guy since 2018. And I dont think he will be that guy again.
  8. 100%. on 3dn it sounded like they had been strung along by ruby since TC about being vaxx'd and getting proof. Ruby is a turd, but they are kind of trying to scapegoat him. A lot of fault to be had in edmonton.
  9. I suspect we will see massive turn over in edmonton in the off season. It might be the busiest off season for hirings of coaches and front office people in recent memory. I could see ott, bc, and edmonton all clearing house.
  10. Fred reid was a monster, it made the whole thing palatable but man that was a hard day. It was easier for me when we traded khari. I think adding roosevelt will mean we are out of the running for the former cfl vet wrs. But I think and hope we will be air lifting in some speed tool guys at wr from the nfl cuts. Realistically our 2 fastest guys this year are Grant and Demski who have much better field speed than track speed. And combined have missed 5.5 games. Plus grant has all of 2 catches. Its a pretty steep drop off from having lucky, grant, and even streveler to stretch the field in 19. Im still a big believer that a healthy Lawler, woli, adams and demski is a great core. But even with those 4 I think we need the 5th guy to be a fast dynamic guy who can rack up serious YAC and stretch the D vertically.
  11. Was such a heart breaking day.
  12. That would be ideal. Looking at some clips Grants big returns last year didnt see much better blocking than weve had this year. His speed to get the edge forced defenses to come down wide and stay in their lanes in the middle. With nelson returning teams just go right for him cus he hasnt shown the ability to get the edge or do damage up the middle.
  13. https://3downnation.com/2021/09/01/cfl-issues-directive-banning-teams-from-signing-former-elks-ol-jacob-ruby/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=cfl-issues-directive-banning-teams-from-signing-former-elks-ol-jacob-ruby All cfl teams offically banned from signing ruby for the remainder of the season. Its a good start.
  14. True. Plus bryant mitchell retiring. Agudosi is the last man standing on the PR. Wouldnt be surprised to see us take in some nfl cuts at WR.
  15. Our secondary really only got shredded last game. The first two games they were exceptional. Even in the 2nd argos game, the argos racked up passing yards late when the defense had been on the field for twice as long as they shouldve. Or more. Up to the end of week 3 we were playing pretty tight coverage. Week 3 was also a ton of short drop timing routes where our front couldnt get consistent pressure. Both our offense and defense have lacked meaningful progression. vs calgary our defense actually reverted to prime hall too deep zone for a while. Thats not the secondary getting shredded, thats our defensive play call being shredded. Our secondary was continually in position. That sucks. Two of our best prospects at wr busted due to injuries. Hope he too can get healthy and try to come back.
  16. That last drive was 90% rainbow piss and unicorn farts. The other 10% was BS. They werent close, and we didnt steal it. I hate how the cfl media panders to the rider fans.
  17. in 2019 strevvy had 40+ passing attempts in back to back games. Outside of those he averaged 25ish. Pretty close to 2018 and 2019 nichols. Nichols had a bit more 30 attempt games but thats to be expected with the number of runs strevvy took. Agree that streveler got lots of throwing reps. And he was throwing the ball to more than harris. If any thing nichols release valve targeting was more training wheels passing offense than strevvy. When strevvy wasnt excelling we had the option to run option. That didnt exist with nichols, so of course when we struggled we went to that. Who wouldnt? I 100% believe streveler loves winnipeg. But he also loves football and wants to be in the NFL more than in winnipeg. And coming here to sit on the bench is not gonna get him back to the NFL. The only real chance I could see for him getting back to the NFL any time soon would be ottawa. He probably doesnt need the money, but if ott cut nichols they could afford to pay him maybe 3 times what we could. Thats hard to pass. Made the cards any way, hope he does great this year.
  18. Yep he can gtfoh for good
  19. That secondary would be insane. I think rose and strevvy stick this year on prs though. I wonder if streveler was available if ott would go all in on him. I could see them offering him the starters job and money. Thatd be fantastic. Best case scenario especially if one of our wils gets healthy
  20. I dont think he'd fit what we do
  21. Yes but he could easily be a wil/mac here. Especially the way we use mac. Weve been using bighill as a sam. He could be the wil.
  22. nah. I wouldnt take him over gray or eli. probably rider bound or maybe hammy
  23. https://3downnation.com/2021/08/31/chicago-bears-waive-former-cfl-linebacker-james-vaughters/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=chicago-bears-waive-former-cfl-linebacker-james-vaughters Vaughters would look good here if both our wils are down for an extended period of time.
  24. yes please
  25. Depends when and if roc and kyrie are due to be healthy
