That's pretty nuts. Ott has two nice weapons but they could really use more.

You don't have to play the ball. He didn't have an opportunity to play the ball either. You can't stop on a half seconds notice. That's not humanly possible and just a dumb expectation. It can't be a dirty hit and half a second from being clean. The cfl doesn't want to get rid of those hits. No other hit over the middle has been punished. Can you give one example of the cfl taking this action against hits over the middle? They sure didn't with the hit on Fajardo over the middle in week 2.

Lost in all this was Jackson Jeffcoats performance on the edge. Since the play offs in 2019 he's taken a big step forward. His performance against Toronto was one of the most dominant elite pass rush games this year. If Toronto wasn't throwing on 1 and 3 step half the game he would've had 6 sacks. That rook maier better watch his butt next week.
-
Yep. Maybe he thought dd could be streveler and knew the system idk. Maybe plop just isn't capable of making player personnel decisions. I remember using a di on Flanders for like 6 weeks and never weaving him in.

We run it to demski and didn't show it at all. Just poor Playcall. Stamps drafted crappy. We drafted felix Ménard-Brière a few years ago. He was on the pr for a bit but wasn't beating out medlock. He's with bc now. The other one was Sergio Castillo. Who kicked 86 percent in 2018 and 91 percent in 2019. I'd give him a look

Yeah its puzzling really. Looks good on blm and dicky though. Nichols is toast. And with dom Davis they don't even have a prayer in the wings. I'm glad plop is gone too. Buck may or may not be the answer but plop is not the answer at all.

I know it's a long ass video but it's a good one. It's the rugby wrap tackle applied to football. A few teams in the us have adopted it but not many. They practice it with no pads on it's that safe. The legion of boom still had lots of hard hits and could do it with hawk tackles.
-
The biggest risk last night was our own players colliding. The problem is they've never flagged that kind of hit before and won't keep it up. It was purely reactionary. Hawk tackling is the future. Early years should only be allowed to hawk tackle. Those levels are suffering all over because of lack of kids playing.

They've always been a next man up team but they are stuck on blm. It's gonna break them. Their only real player loyalty.

Bailey played especially bad. Not just with the easiest drops. His routes and blocks were bad. The ol under performed for sure. But part of that is running soo little. Just like we tired out our d we did the same to the ol. They aren't used to 40 pass plays a game. Toronto played the run the same as last week. 7 8 men in the box vs 5 ol and 1 wr chipping. They had a body in the hole and a man free off the edge. But we ran the same running play 4 times in a row. With little chance of success. We didn't use the sweep or end around or play action. That's on buck. Only thing I can think is Mos thought the sun was gonna be a major issue in the 2nd half. Crappyy yeah I mean I'd rather take the chances with legs. He's very good with punting.
-
Yes I would. I've seen our guys be on both ends of that hit. Preparation and execution 100 cost the game. The refs didn't lose us the game. We had many chances to win it. The refs added salt to the wound and a separate issue almost.
-
I think it entirely boils down to Nichols and Flanders knowing the system inside and out.

That call was 100 percent reactionary to the injury. That's how it's supposed to work but not how it worked last night. We see hits like that 10 to 20 times a year with no flag. It was clean. He wasn't late he didn't target the head he didn't lead with the head he got penalized for hitting too hard.
-
The injury time out can allow the booth to create a review to see if there is a penalty due. The injury it self is not grounds for a penalty. The only reason the play was penalized is the injury. They created punishment based only on the injury.
-
I don't think he was faking he got ktfo with out question. You can't suspend guys based on result like collaros getting knocked out by Hamilton in ssk in 19. It's not that they reviewed it cus he was hurt. They only penalized because he was hurt. If some one else was hurt and that time out happened and they reviewed it there would be no penalty. I have no doubt about that.
-
Mos will come around no doubt. To be fair challenges has never been his strong suit. And he's always been Ride or die with his guys like Nelson. I'm sure he will be grinding hard and pushing the team to bounce back in a big way vs Calgary. I expect a thorough but whupping next week.
-
If the league made the choice it'd be one thing. But the only reason they stepped in and penalized it is the injury. If he walked off fine no review and penalty. That's the biggest issue.

He can run off tackle if the play is off tackle but he isn't cut back quick or break away fast. We've been dependant on Harris who has both. We didn't use motion or play action or fakes well. No back is gonna do the damage needed with 3 or 4 touches. We saw the same issues with plop previously. Where Harris doesn't get a touch for a half at a time and we struggle. He had almost 5 yards per touch with horrible usage. It's the ocs job to adapt to the d and put guys in a position to succeed. Buck didn't do that. A guy like Brady will always be a lot better if you have a speed guy to rotate and work in like demski normally. But no back on earth would've made the difference tnite. The whole offence executed soo poorly. At times blocking collaros decision making the wrs catching you name it. And when the execution is bad across the board it's coaching.
-
The pass game is unimaginative but the run calling was dismal. We kept taking a boot that we hadn't run this year. We did it once in the 4th. To ran play action nearly every pass play for 3 quarters. Dinwiddie out coached buck by the largest margin possible. It was mediocore pop Warner vs prime bill Walsh. Right now buck doesn't look like oc material. It's bitterly disappointing.
-
The hit that knocked milt out cold and the pukeinator on woodcock were the same. It's the nature of going over the middle. It's the same in every league and era.
-
Idk confused me too. May have picked to stay out of the sun but a bad call. He played teams but hasn't done much.
-
At half time the d played a full games worth of minutes. 6 2 and outs 3 drives or 4 plays and less than 15 yards. 2 drives in the last 3 minutes of the half. Nothing but 2 and outs in the 3rd quarter. 2 and outs in the first quarter and a pick. First 3 drives for Toronto started at mid field. The defense doesn't take much blame.
-
It was a bang bang play. It's not ball is 5 yards away it went past the wr who went over the middle and didn't protect himself. Ba didn't lead with the head. Qbs heads don't get protected down field as runners. You can't lead with the head but you can hit the head. Clean hit.

One could say the same of Calgary with blm and Arbuckle too.
