I'll bet he does nothing. He isn't in charge of that locker room and I don't believe any one on that roster looks at him as a leader. Thats part of it ya. It's own governance, decision making, and partners namely TSN combine for about 90% of the problem.

I wanted to test the waters and see if anyone's interested in discussing interesting or creative play calls in football. Also a bit of theory crafting or hand wringing about how stuff would work in the CFL and why we don't see it. One of the big things I see in US football, that hasn't come up here despite massive potential is better-designed QB runs. Teams like the Ravens and Coastal Carolina do exciting stuff with QB runs. The ravens run some rpo, but fake the option a lot and use designed run calls out of the same package. Their O power and QB power are great examples. In a full option offense, this would be 1 place call. The QB would read a defender mostly the end and either keep it up behind the pulling guard or hand it off to the RB to run outside of the guards' block. The advantage they get from mixing in the separate calls is that they change the speed of the play drastically. The fake option can be run much faster and the defense can't re act to the fact the offense isn't reading a player. They have to try and cover all the option players gaps. Traditionally this type of play used to be run from a 2 back power set. But the ravens use it heavily out of 11 and 21 personnel in the shotgun. Alignment wise it's not that different from what we see up here every week with Woli/Demski/Bailey pinching on the end.

Imo 6 games is what that hit deserves. the real problem is he he acted after. 1 celebrating like that. Clear intent to injure and celebrating hurting some one. 2 celebrating while being removed from the game. That on top of being a frequent offender. 1 deserves another 2 games. 2 warrants even more. 2 and the frequency of his cheap shots should yield suspension until completion of an investigation. If they find him remorseless and likely to re offend he should get the rest of this year and half of next year. It sounds strict, but you have to stomp that crap out. If the same hit happened to cf the riders would be marching on ott with pitchforks and torches. Personally, I’d void his contract and bar any team from signing him again. But that won’t happen. Last night Marino took more from this league than he will have ever contributed, did some thing that flies in the face of every thing the cfl stands for and celebrated it. Twice. If the riders has any integrity they would waive his ass immediately. dicker and the team deserve punishment as well. You can only maintain a cesspool quality culture soo long with out taking responsibility for the mess it causes.

He’s still young with lots of tread on the tire. But he hasn’t played in what 4 years? At this point I’d roll with the young guys we saw in camp and pre season.

Throwing in some layered zone pressing under on a few guys like lucky would be really effective too. Bc has mostly feasted on wide open deep balls and lots of intermediate rub stuff. If you jam some but not all of their guys you can really disrupt the timing of combo routes. I’m sure as always hall is prepared with lots of ideas and wrinkles especially for the second half. I think the db blitz package is going to be really effective too. Rutledge times his blitzes really well and is soo quick. Rourke isn’t prepared for rushes from the second level imo.

Stuff like that is the kiss of death when playing the bombers. I just went from 50% sure to 100% sure we whoop their butts. That said if we lose and have another poor offensive out put buck pierce should be on the hot seat. defenders have said the same thing in like 3 weeks this year. You’re right. And mixing in press cover would really mess bc up. Yeah personally I love bump n run cover.

Great point. They really seemed to be feeling out Mccrae vs toronto. They didnt just use him as a super sub to execute one or two specific packages. They threw him into pass pro, running, catching, and in some of demskis package. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go from splitting reps with BOO, back filling demskis spot, and instead see him as the primary back and see grant get some of demski's package. Which could be extremely dynamic. Imo wilson has been our and the leagues modp so far this year. But even at that, I don't see us missing a beat with clements. Both are pretty similar guys, very athletic and great at scrapping to the ball and getting in on the back end of down field plays. Clement was a tremendous pick up this off season.

Bomber fandom aside, this match up of rourke vs the bombers D is the most exciting and interesting match up of the season pre LD. We have a versatility that allows us to do things other teams can't. Willy, biggie, and BA are unique. I wish this wasn't a short week game for us, and I wish BA was healthy. The week 19 version of this game could be the game of the year. I expect both sides to be healthy or well developed in their injury replacements, both teams get 1 week between games, And I expect it to be an impactful game for the standings.

I feel like the bombers have been coasting by doing just enough to win. But a high level of execution would beat this bc team. I just don’t have a lot of faith in our ol run game or buck right now.

Biggie has such incredible range we can park a limited range guy in the middle and make up for it.

Maybe they slide Hansen back to wil in that case? Maybe Mack slides back he’s 235 light for a de unless you’re Gavin walls freak strong. Maybe they roll double db and put Rutledge at wil he’s huge for a db.

Wonder how healthy lucky is. feel like captain Canuck will put up good passing yards but struggle to score and turn the ball over. I see him taking some hard hits too. Other wise they are gonna destroy us.

I bet it’s more of a walk through. I think rourke will get yards late but not tds. And I think this will be his toughest game. If ba and kyrie were healthy I think he’d be in deep water.

Offense is missing demski desjarlais Harris and couture. We still haven’t filled drew’s or andrews spot sufficiently. im not too worried because we have the qb and the tackles. defense is missing lots too. Injuries are a real adversity this year.

We won’t have a chance of beating bc unless our offense is a lot better.
