  1. Ol, especially tackle has become a position of much more athletic demand. Weve come a long way from the era when matt sheridan was a stalwart at guard to a time when geoff gray is the new standard. That or larry allen esq freak athletes. The NI pipeline is almost always behind the us. And that means the difference between what you find at ni T and imp T is lofty. Mean while we have also seen a great increase in ratio breakers. Its still hard to attract the most athletic big kids to playing line, but only more so up here. So we've gone from good teams striving to start 4 or 5 ni ol, 1 wr and 1 dl as pretty standard to teams starting 3 or even 2 NI ol with a mix of other positions. Idk if we will see the number of NI Ts every rise back up to what it used to be.
  2. Honestly aside from judge their FA pick ups could be the over-the-hill-gang. A bunch of guys who played in the nfl which means high talent level but not necessarily skill sets that will transition well to the cfl game. Judge and speller are the two young good pick ups of their off season. And both the ol and dl will see an insane amount of roll over. GL to them having any continuity with that.
  3. I feel like he mentioned playing in the nfl for 12 years, 12 times in that article alone. Worst case scenario its a constant humble brag thing, which is super annoying. But even then they were doing some really shifty stuff beyond what was publicly known. And a lot of shifty stuff came out of the jones era. One of 1000 reasons he should never be back in the cfl.
  4. I think we will see half their FA pick ups gone or on the IR by the vet cut day.
  5. Prince robinson looks like he was playing vs competition way below his skill level. Breon borders would be a pretty sick get.
  6. I think hes in as good a position to stay healthy as you can ask for. Balanced offense, great blocking, doesnt need to drop back and throw 50 times a game, hes had a full year to rest and recover. He seemed extremely mentally fragile with the riders before the season, but he played like a guy with nothing to lose here. He bottomed out with the riders then argos and bounced back with us. I wouldnt worry more about his health than any starting qb in the cfl. I would bet on him playing more games than nichols or half the qbs in the league this year.
  7. The herdman reeds were fringe players for the worst team in the west, judge was a keystone to the riders D that finished first in the west division. Of course he started many more games.
  8. Its almost a meme how every year the bombers talk about the OL we bring in being nasty, tough high motor/character guys. This guy looks like the exactly what we look for in OL on the DL side. Nice pedigree, 30 starts (51 games) for VT with 30.5 TFL 113 tackles (53 solo), 8 sacks, and 6 swats thats pretty good. Getting a TFL per start and more solo tackles then games played from the inside is pretty good.
  9. Hes exactly what our scout team turns up year in and year out. A guy whose biggest weakness is he doesnt fit in the nfl or didnt get a real shot to play. Athletic, high motor, good technical skills. Hes a 4i tweener in the nfl but here he fits perfectly with what we do at DT. Hes got the versatility and pass rush skill to excel in several roles, stunts/twists etc.
  10. People forget his best 40 time was 4.61. I dont think any football player has ever had the quickness blink had and a top gear. Conditioning wasnt a serious issue for blink despite his build. He got better and better later into the game I never once saw him pulled late in the game with 25-30 carries because he was gassed. He was how ever an unrefined athlete. An un cut gem. No doubt he wouldve developed more top end speed if he treated his body like milt did. But with the level of success he had as a 165lbs feature back with a heavy work load and how healthy he managed to stay is miraculous. If you change any thing maybe he burns out much earlier.
  11. No comparison between either one and judge. im kinda on the fire ambrosie wagon now.
  12. He wasnt a track guy, just a fast football player. His pro day dropped to a low of 4.38 and a high of 4.41. He shows tremendous initial burst, and a really good top gear. He isnt banks or lucky, but hes a well balanced fast guy with good size.
  13. I think they go from a 4 win team to a 5 or 6 win team, but will be in more close games. They still have a long ways to go though.
  14. Next man up same as always. I like the way he runs north south as much as possible. Find a lane/angle and cuts it up. No dancing around to try and make some thing happen. Didnt put up great measurables but clearly has some moves, burst and great top end speed.
  15. They better figure out a way to play this year. threatening other wise at the start of FA is a dbag move (maybe to keep over spending teams in line?)
  16. I love the arrogance first day free agency champions. That roster is still a dumpster fire.
  17. Toronto seems to be spending crazy this year maybe them?
  18. Can bet just about any thing that itll be demski getting the 2nd most touches out of the back field this year. 6.5 ypc... on 2 games worth of carries 😆 pumping him as more then a solid back up is rider fan base stuff. Ankle injuries arent any thing to under rate in a rb.
  19. Its true, big of him to admit it. We are calgary 2.0 right now. Its the meta on how you build a continual contender in the cfl. Deep national talent, next man up mentality.
  20. you mean like we did with flanders? 😆 Augustine was cut by half the league and brady didnt stay healthy as a back up. We arent set by any means, but rb is an easy position to recruit talent at. It doesnt make sense to dumpster dive FA for rbs unless your scouting sucks.
  21. That sucks for us, but It makes sense. Hes a great young talent and im sure he will do really well in montreal. His talent is legit. I would still love to see a vet qb in camp to push him though. Positional competition brings the best out of every one. But its not a surprise. I mean the fa market doesnt really have a guy you want as a vet back up to teach your prospect. ick
  22. deon lacey, mbt and judge are the ones left im really interested to see where they land. I think lacey would be great here though I doubt we spend money at wil. Exume and Kongbo I really hope we manage to bring back.
  23. mitchell is probably the best bang for the buck at WR in free agency and one of the best when healthy. Awesome pick up, hope he can stay healthy.
  24. hate this move. Hope the staff find decent landing spots. Would love to see walby etc have a podcast to balance out the inane stuff from pederson.
  25. vs losing one for nothing again right. never mind actually reading the post. 😆 I like the lorenzo jerome get for the riders too. Wonder where cam judge ends up. Feels like they are all in on moving on with out him.
