didnt he retire to rap? some one was hinting i think at 3dn that he might come out of retirement. May have been just speculation idk. Hes young with low wear and tear on his body. And a tremendous skill set, but I dont trust his drive to play at all. Wouldnt touch him with a 10' clown pole. you know how many pro football players still study while playing and do so from a great distance?
-
Why is he allergic to money? He took time trying to get another roster spot after his 2nd team down south. And his interview when he signed here it seemed pretty clear he wants to get back down south.

Eli gray and desjarlais arent proven commodities. Weve been trying to hide a 7th ol for years and it just only works for soo long. You cant expect one of those guys to hide on the IR forever when theyd have a chance to start else where. Especially with some one like gray who has NFL aspirations and talent. If we did (id like to keep all the young OL but its just a matter of time before we lose one or more if they dont start) we would gain future value, plus cap room now to pick up some one who would make an immediate impact this year. Like I said if I was huff I'd go around the league trying for pieces like that. And we are the capital of NI ol depth in the league.
-
If I was him id try and swing a deal for one of our young ol. Gray, couture, eli, and desjarlais. We are extremely deep at NI ol, and a guy like gray isnt cheap. With the 3 vets, and one back up that leaves 1 odd man out. Bombers wont wanna lose one of these guys for nothing, and a draft pick could be used to store value off the salary cap by drafting an NFL camp/signee.

the league is far better off both not having to still pay for the als, and having the als be competitive. Walters always says we dont have a lot of money available. But he was very close on getting burnham. And im sure it wasnt going to be burnham at the expense of the guys we re signed since him. I expect walters to make a few crafty good moves again this FA period as he always does.

TBH, 2 qbs isnt enough. The minimum should be 3. I dont really wanna see darvin adams or other position players at QB. And with only 2 on active roster its only a matter of time. Or his agent using dunk to try to push up his value around the league.

1 revenue stream takes care of the huge majority of operating costs. Did you know its not the only one? 😆
-
One year of the TSN deal alone split evenly between the teams pays for more then 95% of the salary cap.

He reminds me a lot of elfrid payton (who i loved) but not in a good way. In more of a joe "first half" flemming way. The chris brazzell consistently inconsistent.

If any thing he can use route work, which should be expected given his skill set and athleticism. The guy was released from the nfl and passed over on some real BS. He is still hands down an NFL caliber player. (not a starting wr currently but on the active roster) Itd be a bit of a different style for our front, but a prolific inside rusher with stove/jake on the nose and the heat seeking missles on the end Ols would have nightmares. Exume, whitehead, petermann, miles, rush, and rempel are all guys I really hope are back. Honestly the last thing I want to see in FA is lucky whitehead playing against us. He just might put banks to shame if he started for an aggressive passing team. Also nichols is a good pick up. Hes a tremendous athlete with a lot of versatility. The biggest knock on him coming out of college was size and polish. Hes had a good amount of nfl rep time now and is a perfect candidate for younger to shape into a gem.

I suspect we will see less gimmick plays, a slightly more balanced attack, and progressive passing offense. Instead of constantly just targeting what the defensive gives under coverage and then having wrs try to turn it up field for first downs, I think we will see that used to set up deeper shots, so we push the defenders back and open up the mid section beyond the classic hook/curl/flat zone. More slants/skinny post/ F post multi post plays creating rubs etc. I could see some evolution in the type of running plays, as well as more demski touches too. Less hard nosed between the tackle running and maybe more off tackle stuff. When we've run counter trap stuff its been really effective.

I bet he will be back. Same could be said of brandon banks and a bunch of burners. But also plenty of big wrs like bowman. Bowman never had a good or even average set of hands. Its easier to cover some one like Nik lewis and deny the ball then it is against a burner. And its still pretty easy to create a lot of easy touches in an offense for a wr. Banks came into the league at about the same age as whitehead, and he spent 4 years as a fringe player at wr. 3 out of those 4 years he was much further behind what whitehead did last year. And considering how quickly he was relegated to running deep every time he was on the field in an offense that doesnt chuck it deep often he did well. Whitehead is extremely dangerous with the ball in his hands, one of the most dangerous players in the league. He may or may not take the next step and improve. If he does, he will be an all star and back in the nfl in a year or two. If he doesnt, at worst he's still the most dangerous wr threat weve had in a long long looooong time. That would be a very interesting move. He was a poor fit with the riders but Im not sure hes a better fit here. Walters killing it.

100%. Maybe Wil at times as well. Actually, if we managed to get JSK back at a reasonable rate thatd be great. Id much prefer to have him back then the guys like tobi antigha who've kicked around for a while. Jsk was pretty good on teams too, DIing one and carrying both imp Wils wouldnt be the worst thing.

I think the talent over all in our wr core from last year was extremely high and a bunch of guys could have break out seasons.

The comment was in response to the talk of DEs and how we dont need another. Yeah Mccallister left then came back and stayed on it then resigned and i believe is currently under contract with us. But you never know and thats true of all fringe american players. With richardson and jake I dont think we need another veteran DT. Not to mention our ability to turn up DTs the past several years has been insane. We had 4 really strong DTs vying for the 2 jobs last TC. And I honestly dont think you couldve made a bad choice between that group. I fully believe that will continue as it has along the entire DL. I firmly believe that Mc'c wouldve started for atleast half the league last season. We also dont use our DTs like most teams do. We arent a big pressure package team, or a proficient blitzing team. Most of the sacks that have come from our interior line under the Hall era have been the OL blowing assignments, or our tackles just monstering some one. They play a lot of gap cancellation, they run twists to occupy lanes or eat up blockers to free up our ends. I dont think a guy who is used to getting to pass rush out of the inside position a lot, or play straight up will want to come into play a nose role a good portion of the time. Along with finding tremendous athletes with great work ethic inside, the role position is easier to fill then finding a guy who is consistently a pass rush force from the inside. If we are gonna get an established league vet at a position this year Id think qb, wr or lber would be the spot to do it. Though I dont see us getting a veteran qb.

I feel like the dog was heavily inflated in his height but yeah good chunk.
-
I expect that jake will be pretty locked in at one DT spot. I feel like hes got atleast 5 inches on haywood. But the way he started every snap may have shrunk him in my memory. + alex mccallister is a beast in waiting. Not to mention what if Kongbo comes back? That guy could be a system changer on a long term deal. Dl is the least of the bombers concern. Both lines are stacked deep with young talent and vet starters.
-
I dont see any need or fit for him here.
-
I dont see any WRs running to get into that offensive scheme
-
Could be, I have no freakin clue its hard to keep track of that stuff in this double off season. 😆 I feel like you can start a countdown to lapolice being back at tsn, or being an OC already. They dont have our Ol or a top tier one, nor do they have a top tier RB. Giving up on the young high upside qb for the old injured down side of his career guy is nuts. Maybe plop doesnt feel he will get enough leash to develop a young qb but dang it seems like the RBs are about to waste a season. Can any one expect nichols to drop back to pass 50 times a game at this point?
-
I would love for the bombers to jump on arbuckle. but if the argos get him i wonder if that means they let mbt walk. He might be a good cheap alternative for us at back up.
-
Would love the bombers to pick up arbuckle.
-
They have made some decent moves, but doesnt matter with the OL. not to mention the roaring crowd of 8 people and sky high living expenses. Idk TO still looks like the worst destination in the league to me. thats a freakin huuuge bonus wow.
-
Idk why arbuckle or any one else would want to go to TO. Nichols to ott makes a lot of sense.
-
True but it goes to show especially with a good front office, depth picks are as important as mid and high picks. This trade isnt likely to net us any real value but its this or nothing.
