  1. And thats why its the canadian mafia. walters turned nothing into some thing. I kinda feel like TO should give us a pick any way. We gave up our top pick in last years draft for resigning collaros for a season that didnt happen.
  2. I also dont see any way evans improves on his performance last year. Its impossible to out perform his rookie year, the weight he will have to do that though and what happened in the GC game will make it a tough season for him imo.
  3. Cant blame a guy for moving closer to his family. It is sad/funny that we've lost two good starting young NI Cs in the past few years to go back home, though the one to retirement. Some thing had to give eventually with such an embarrassment of riches at NI ol. Eli is a ridiculous stud at C ni or not. The trade moving up 4 slots in the 6th round is beyond strange but what ever value is value i guess.
  4. I cant think of a coach who has been worse for the league, or is more the opposite of a winner.
  5. its the default that if a CO is offered a HC job or a promotion that you let them take the interview/job. but it is getting late for that.
  6. Big hole for EE to fill. Wonder if they will go after a CO from another team, dig up a skeleton from CFL days gone by, or if they will try to start with a fresh hc. Could be a good fit for June Jones, for in league guys I think bobby dyce deserves a shot at HCing again. Maybe tommy condell?
  7. i saw a large portion of his college career.
  8. Thats a tough choice. I always liked fajardo before he was a rider and thought he could be good. I liked vaj too. I dont think Fajardo is adapting quick enough for the pro game. And im not sure he's had the right Co to develop further, rather then just cover up for his weaknesses. I think Vaj has a better chance to be developed with khari as hc. But I think as we saw from him in his game against us his head/temper will be his un doing kinda like jason maas as a coach. I actually think MBT in toronto will have more success then any of those 3.
  9. Grays advantage is he could play either tackle spot though, which is harder to find especially in a canadian. Eli is a real stud though too. Those two and speller would start on more teams in the league then not this year. Burnham is a beast and well worth a good pay day.
  10. Im pretty confident that gray will be ready and end up being an anchor on our line.
  11. The pro bowl position is going to be renamed fair catch guy, then itll be replaced with side line ball boys.
  12. I think you should probably draft an NI ol every single year. Doesnt mean he has to be a guy whose a high pick though. Due to the glutt of ol talent we've let go some pretty good developmental OL guys in the previous few years. I think that continues, but I dont think a high pick OL is likely at all.
  13. Yeah but he may hope for the next TC. Im not sure on when that starts vs when our season starts right now. Hes really dangerous but im not sure hes what nfl teams want in a return man. And maybe its the likely situation that when harris retires we go to a RB who can run but isnt the total package that harris is. But in a fringe NI rb, I expect to see good blocking. All that said, I would be thrilled if we got chuba hubbard in the draft and down the road he was the next feature back for us. But I really think hes gonna be in the nfl for a good while if not his career. He really did, too bad he got hurt when he did.
  14. I can see grant getting a decent nfl look, idk about whitehead. I think he's a year away from getting a serious nfl offer. I dont think any one is getting big money right now. I feel like the ability to turn up DL talent is extremely high for our front office. Id be happy to have any of the tackles weve had over the past 2 ish years.
  15. maybe on a team with poor ni teamers even then his goal line blocking is pitiful.
  16. I dont see us carrying both on the roster with their limited special teams skill sets respectively. I think demski gets a bunch of carries as well as our returner di type of choice, while one of the 2 is rostered and gets some. If oliveira is healthy I dont see augustine stealing many reps. I also wouldnt be surprised if we brought in another ni back for camp. Maybe more of a fb/te guy. I feel like every year we see more and more american style NI TEs available. This team certainly seems to value versatility, I could see a multi threat TE doing really well here. (sellers 2.0)
  17. I think Exume is gonna be a starter eventually. Hope hes back too. Man eric rogers would be wicked in blue n gold.
  18. Double barrel good news this morning. I wonder if we will see a new distribution of touches under pierce.
  19. bond didnt have trouble getting his spot back from neuf he started all of his games played here... While here bond was the best guard in the league hands down. Isnt charles nelson still under contract? He was looking really good until he got hurt, Id love to see him back. Id also love to see lucky and grant back cant have too much speed on the team. I think like most here if used well lucky could easily turn into a highly productive wr. He was mostly used as a decoy with lapo, running off the secondary.
  20. No it isnt, he was a 1k yard rusher and big receiving threat out of the back field before he came to winnipeg. Yeah, with wr cores like we havent had in ages. Average? the last 3 years weve been in the top 3 in scoring and been the no1 team in scoring twice. Its been our running game that has carried an average at best passing game. Running the ball when the whole world knows you arent going to throw deep is the hardest thing to do in football. It really isnt hard to say that, just look at his awards shelf. Unless of course youre creating some strawman football player that would suddenly appear and turn the passing offense of the past couple years into the AC era als.
  21. Until he signs else where, I assume its some thing along those lines. I cant see harris leaving winnipeg for another cfl team at this point. Ol, is the ultimate team position. Every good or better OL is more then the sum of its pieces, and maintaining that consistency once you find success is vital. Its always easy to see the dramatic change when an OL gets good, but the previous year is when the chemistry is built. Thats why saskatchewans OL is constantly a year away, from being a year away. The question is, are we trying to win a GC in 2021, or are we trying to just be good. In order to replicate the same level of success in pro sports requires improvement each year. At some point you have to go young other wise you go the way of the dinosaur. Its easier at some positions (db) to go young then others (ol), but I think even if we go young this year we are still a play off team.
  22. bryant wouldnt turn that turd heap into a solid line. not to mention we have a good chunk tied up on the young NI ol, and filing the inside spots with one would be pretty easy. Step back for a year maybe at worst. At some point, some thing has to give. I hope it doesnt end up being one of the good young NIs.
  23. He isnt a luxury item. With out harris our offense would be bottom of the league the last several years. Finding a stud imp rb that can fill the hole harris leaves, and just coming up with another starting canadian else where is very easy to say not soo easy to do.
  24. The past couple of years we've made pretty good scores in FA at the DB position. Im not sure thatll continue as we seem to have a pretty good mix of vets and some good young experienced guys ready to step up. I think thats going to be one of the positions to watch this off season and into TC. Will Brandon alexander stay at S? (i hope so) Will Exume take the next step and start getting some serious reps on D?
  25. The next big re up to be done but probably the most certain. Extremely happy to have WJ back. And glad these guys who could score big in FA are re working deals to stay here.
