The riders and a few other teams got real pissy with us over the money we gave faith as the top pick and the precedent that set.

Top prospects should command a respectable salary. Half are going to be starters after a year any way, they should earn like it. We face a huge brain drain for the top prospects with the nfl every year, why make it worse? Imagine if the XFL starts going after top NI prospects that the nfl passes on. Thats a real nice pick up for them. The offense will really hinge on how much VAJ can do now that every one has ample film on him but they wont lack for weapons.

2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.

I want to say it was BJ and hal in the era before wheeler went to power 97. Ace burpee did a lot of shenanigans like that too back then. -
2019-20 Grey Cup Champs Off-season discussion.

I feel like its always a good idea to kick the regular season off with the defending champion at home against the previous years challenger. Works great in virtually any sport. Love his writing and radio work. I dont know how TSN hasnt scooped him up yet tbh. But Ill be very happy if he stays here in a similar role for the long term. -
Vince McMahon considers move to bring back the XFL
wbbfan replied to wbbfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I am kind of surprised with the severe disparity in the xfl. With the people running things, and the way the league signs guys I thought itd be at least fairly close. -
😆 Soo damned mean and funny. The whole league is soo tight pursed right now, the only chance walker has of getting the kind of value he wants is playing xfl then cfl in the same year. The old robert gordon deal. henoc muamba should call him and tell him to go on a team to team visit. Atleast then he could get dinner before he gets #&^%ed on a contract.
-
At times we dress enough LBers for the whole league to run a 3-4. Maybe a mild exaggeration But yeah mostly team bodies at lber depth. Itd be more of a 3-2 or 3-3 front. We wont see a true 3-4 any time soon in regular play.

Even with bryant, the OL it self is greater then the sum of its parts. If any thing that proves the point that its about the unit and not a singular player. Bond was far more dominant here then hardrick. Which is hard for a guard to do. Couture and speller had been here a while, gray was hurt thats why desjarlais came in. Its not just the coaches, the front office finds the modular pieces, guys with talent and the right mind set to fit in and the coaching staff molds them into a unit. 100% coaching culture and scouting. We are still seeing fruits of the work of bob wiley as well. If you develop an OL a good team will end up with a good player. A bad team it doesnt matter if you sign a denis or bond etc you will continually field a crap OL. Costello is in his guy and in his style. 3 years of wiley, 1 splashy sign and a bunch of internal development has left us with the deepest OL in the league.

I told my self i wouldnt let my self expect us to sign a guy like walker, or get excited for it happening. But every day i check the ticker on my phone to see if we signed him, and the first thing i check on here is this thread hoping for an update. Failed soo hard here. Walker is 100% worth the money he wants, but he has waited too long and the money is gone. If I was him Id go some place and get a heavily incentive laden deal.

We used this mix a good bit last year, especially late. But also the way we play jefferson, and jake/drake on the nose, its more like a 3-4 over formation any way then a traditional 4-3. I dont see us becoming a firm 3-4 team, but we are allready a hybrid front with heavy nose tackle usage team. I think the versatility of running a 3-4 with a more traditional gap cancellation 30, and 2 full time sams would be great in the cfl. But no one seems to be pursuing that much. More teams are using the 3-4 over set like we do.

awe is certainly faster, but antigha is a gamer. These two veterna, versatile, athletic tweeners makes me think they want to have bighill play more of his normal mid deep rover and have a wil that can do the HCF etc stuff while scraping to the ball. Certainly both are low risk high reward and will provide a good push for competition at WLB, which as been pretty flat in the past.

Not for lack of talent. A lot of things cause struggles on the ol, chemistry and the right group of guys goes a long long ways. Hardrick was a BC cast off before becoming a corner stone of our OL for instance. You cant just pick up a great OL, plug em in and turn around your OL. The riders have been trying to buy their OL for years with no success. A good or better OL is the sign of a good team/coaching staff.
-
Good Imp ol aren't the rareity they used to be. Teams don't want to give big front loaded deals to older imp ol. The xfl seems desperate for proven guys who can pass and pass protect. Plus it's like the old AFL risk for a pay cheque and a half each year. He comes back later to the neediest team.
-
Kills me when they try to talk trash about our streak when it's their average.
-
He doesn't need to be a great blocker. He's such a threat you're better off sending him deep and having him run off 2 defenders rather then trying to have him man block one guy.
-
He's the definition of a replacement level player. You wouldn't do worse with the next best free agent Ni ol on the market at any given time.
-
We have had no problem finding good Imp DL. Bryant, and richardson inside and lots of ends. I am sure we will see another dog fight for spots on the DL in this years camp with new guys threatening the jobs of vets.

Walker adams walker and the 2 NIs sounds like a great wr core to me. Lots of good competition for the last NI and imp spot, and guys who can DI for wr depth. Bailey, Grant, Nelson, and Lucky battle for a spot as a KR/DI and likely 1 pr 1 IR guy. (grant the front runner for KR) Those are all guys Id love to have stick around, but I wouldnt hesitate for a second to cut any of them for walker. Hed instantly be our best wr.

Walters and co have done a fantastic job keeping the core together. If they can pick the bones of free agency and grab a couple good pieces itll be A++ off season for them.

I could see a huge season from adams with buck as oc if collaros stays healthy. If we dont get wj back is go for walker. Be great to have a stacked we core for once. But i don't expect that at all.

He was before his tenure at Tennessee. He didn't live up to the hype in college but showed alot here in limited action. He was a good prospect not elite by any means in the NFL.

Meant jeffcoat not Jefferson. If we get wj back great. If not I wouldn't jump to spend that money on another de. Up here he is crazy valuable as a him down south he is one of a huge group of young athletic de hybrids. He has the talent and athleticism but they could just as well have wj and 10 similar guys in camp.

Vince McMahon considers move to bring back the XFL
wbbfan replied to wbbfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Walker for Houston is easily the best qb so far. This game is much better then the first but still pretty meh football -
Gotta keep money for if Kongbo gets cut. If we ended up with Kongbo Jefferson McAllister and ROH as our ends we'd be in great shape. I don't think we need to jump and over pay another end to replace wj if he leaves. We have the guys internally to replace at a huge savings.
