  1. Looks very much like a young, new Jake too. Hard not to like this deal. We move down a bit and lose 1 pick but get a guy who would be on the active roster if the season started right now. Slots in very well with the loss of kongbo. Not likely to be a full time nose tackle as a pro, but a good DT who can play nose in a pinch. https://tdnprod.wpengine.com/2020/04/26/cfl-draft-profile-defensive-tackle-cam-lawson-queens/
  2. I can see the logic in that, but the CFL seldom works that way. From eli being drafted in the first place, to ruby being re instated, and soo many more moves. The level of awareness in cfl front offices on peripheral players is extremely bad. To some extent its always going to be a fact of life. CFL teams have a fraction of the scouting funds that every other league in north america has, and they have 10x more ground to cover than every thing short of baseball and soccer. If it wasn't for danny macs fringe relation to eli the entire league would've slept on him. Still behind whopper, but in a normal year he'd be the run away favorite for TC Most Valuable Name. Craphonso Thorpe is still my all time favorite.
  3. Same. I also wonder if it effects Eli. I could see them having been waiting him out to get him on as cheap a deal as possible. If they can get him on a min or close to it, and Dobson comes up this year, plus the possibility that Desjarlais gets cut that's all gotta play in heavily. I also think we will be inclined towards gambling on a lotto ticket pick who has NFL options, not just for the upside but for financial savings just like with dobson last year.
  4. Should have a poll. The various combinations of the First 2 picks ol vs every other position. (Ol/ol, ol/other, other/Ol, other/other) Tre Ford is going to be the most interesting guy to watch imo. With an NFL invite I think he could go any where. I think the team that drafts the most defenders in the first 3 or 4 rounds or the most lotto tickets wins the draft.
  5. I was wondering what was going on. They had him listed on the roster but not the active roster ir pr etc I bet he's here this year now.
  6. Great arm talent and size. Mentally tough and aggressive decision making but not great at reading a d and not mobile. Very mbt skill set but much better experience. Interesting pick up not our usual type of qb
  7. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/shane-simpson/32005349-4d60-8065-c99b-5776a30350aa Looks like has good acceleration, is a good north south runner, and has great top end speed. A 100m track guy. Looks exactly like the type of KR we like.
  8. Id like to see them with out any of the white. Just Blue n Gold.
  9. Agreed. Should be some good improvements. Wish they'd adjust the play clock and increase roster sizes.
  10. https://www.cfl.ca/2022/04/26/touchdown-atlantic-game-sells-out-in-one-hour/ It was increased to 10k for this game. Soo pretty good guess! I would've probably guessed further under.
  11. TD atlantic sells out in short order. Soo fast it makes me suspect re sellers and some companies agreed to do so before hand. My expectations for this are low. Bills game in toronto during a leafs game low.
  12. In general I feel like I'm pretty far off the beat for how we draft. We like athletic, high upside guys and kind of mid level lotto ticket picks. But out side of that, and attributes we like I don't think I've been right about a single selection the team has made in the mafia era. With that said, I just can't see the logic behind all these prognosticators. This is a mediocre if not bad batch of OL prospects. I just can't imagine us reaching for a mid level OL prospect with a low ceiling, early on in this weak of a draft (for ol). Especially not with soo many highly athletic defensive players who can contribute on teams early on. I'm willing to bet that Eli will be back this year. I dont think dobson has been starting in the USFL, and if thats so I dont think he will be NFL bound this year.
  13. I could see us trading up in this draft. I think the no1 pick is on the market, and this is the draft to trade up in imo. Maybe not to first over all, but the difference in value between a top 5 pick and the next 10 ish is really big. If we did go to first over all though, Richards would be plug and play ratio wise for the loss of kongbo. He's a great athlete and this draft has really good depth for developmental athletic lbers. I think Beeksma ( polished teams player) and Appolon (Versatile athlete) would be great fits too. I think we have a great opportunity to get a guy to develop and play reps this year. Federico could be another guy that rosters this year, rotates some and contributes on teams right away. Knight and Pelley are really interesting prospects that could fit well with what we do on the DL as well. For Ol I think gregor mackellar is a great sleeper pick for us. Big tremendous physical talent who is the nastiest Ol in the draft. He's a guy that we could groom for a while and not need to rush. He's got fantastic upside if he jives with the coaching staff. I think we really want to grow NI depth at DB as well, so tyrell ford could be a great fit that might be available in the 2nd round. I also think its a great year for the bombers to take lotto ticket pickets like luketa if they dont trade up.
  14. Randall is a guy who could eventually fill the role left by stove. Similar extreme physical talent in a nose prospect, stove has a much higher football IQ and top tier drive to improve. That said, for a guy to miss 2 years of ncaa football due to academic issues, over come that and come back more dominant than ever says a lot about his work ethic and character. The bombers scout DTs extremely well. Randall might be raw but he could be a real gem. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/kenny-randall/32005241-4e08-2192-6dba-6a4dfb6f5379 Johnson is an extremely talented guy who had some injury issues. He also has tons and tons of heart. He played both ways a bunch as a senior.
  15. The pitching is slowly getting better but has a lot of work to do
  16. You're underestimating it, a lot. Woli settles for a role but has shown and produced at a much higher level. Lawler was the no3 option going into last year. 2nd year woli was as good or better than 1st year lawler, 2nd year bailey, and 95% of nic demski's career. You just don't grasp the nature of the position and role he plays.
  17. Plus Un leashing woli with the hash change then wr core will be the best its been in years
  18. 100 percent. Wr tc battle is gonna be epic
  19. He reports what he wants to hear no matter if it's true or not. The same guy guaranteeing last year that the ratio field size and 3 downs was gone and the merger with the xfl was the only way to survive.
  20. Wish Madani would get canned. Nothing but a professional CFL $%^& poster.
  21. Pro day times are very unreliable indeed. Aside from obvious bias issues, they are virtually all manual timed. The loose rule of thumb when converting manual times to electric is you add .175 to the manual time. So his 4.47 fast manual time turns into a 4.65 electric time. Which is right where he was predicted to fall before his proday, 4.6 to 4.7. The faster manual time came as a pretty good surprise from every thing I can see. His pro day was generally considered to be more athletic than was expected, but he seems like he's never had the track refining. The difference between guys in pro days and combines who have trained for track and field or in a program like chris carter's FAST, and those who haven't is pretty big. Thats hitting the nail on the head with the hammer. He is very much a lawler esq wr. Big, more than enough athleticism, extremely polished with great hands. He kicked around the NFL for a good bit, and it wasn't based on size or athleticism. Though they are both good, especially for the CFL. If he had played for a decent passing offense in college he probably would've been a mid to late NFL pick.
  22. He's an excellent prospect but really? Those people gotta put the koolaid down. The elk do have a crowded QB back field. Tate, corny, JT, and arbuckle is a pretty good bit of depth. I'm not surprised they'd like to move some one, but the smart way to do it would be slowly and in pieces. None of those guys are going to bring a premium before TC cuts. They'd be best of bringing them all to camp, letting the position play it self out, then hiding guys and waiting as long as possible to trade them. If tate, or JT see serious reps this year the elk are going to be in horrible shape. Corny and arbuckle dont assure any level of success, but they give you a chance.
  23. A stamp player talking about becoming complacent in being good? And to the back to back champs? LOL. Dude has played 35 games in 4 years. And 1 good season in those 4 years. Reggie needs to calm down and worry more about playing a whole season and putting together some consistent production.
  24. I think incentive to return missed fgs and try long attempts is good
  25. Same mostly. Never watched live soccer can't watch a whole game. I like game in 15m on YouTube I love pitcher hitter battles but can't stand 4 hour plus games.
