  1. Nunn looks like a gem. Tough athletic guy with high light reel catching ability. Looks like he got thrown to the wolves with the qbs be had to play with. And another hard nosed wr who loves to block. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/antonio-nunn/32004e55-4e40-8165-5264-83a6a2ad1fb4 https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2940963-antonio-nunn-nfl-draft-2021-scouting-report-for-atlanta-falcons-wr
  2. Cfl vet imp tackle To be a 3rd string back up ie a guy to throw at all the pass rushers to prevent over working the top 3. If he dies he dies. If he doesnt he deserves a pr spot. Bet he's a high character guy
  3. Yep you are correct. You'd think they could get a university film crew From each city to film it. Have some one from tsn show run make it an hour and bounce between say 4 teams. Can't believe they couldn't match the quality of last chance u. Follow the Bombers riders cats and rbs mainly and mix in some from the rest.
  4. They have the one in ott this year but a league wide one would be great. The ones so far have all been in Ontario too.
  5. Yep. The refs are often soo slow offenses have go wait when trying to go hurry up. They kill any attempt to run hurry up out side of the final minutes.
  6. Hash marks 30 second play clock whistled in right away and no more singles on fgs. Maybe on 40 plus yarders.
  7. Maybe bc too 100 percent would open up the offense. The ability to use more balance in target areas would also force the d to use less bend but don't break.
  8. Big Ben back on the ol. He's a gooder nice depth. And a high upside imp db.
  9. Certainly teams like the riders have been forcing none pro quality ni ol into starting jobs. But teams aren't doing good now. But teams aren't developing well either. Ni or imp. Nfl teams used to stick to their mold and we used to get high quality spread qbs. Now the highest caliber qbs available are athletic dual threats that no team uses well here. Mostly we don't even go after the next tier down guys. We get failed transfer guys who were big in hs busted at a big d1 school transfered and was ok for a year at a small school.
  10. It makes me laugh and shake my head. Its a damn good thing that every OL on our roster will have a much longer career than the average ol in the league to recoup all the money they aren't getting paid. But it also speaks volumes to how committed the guys we have are to this team. No marcus sayles, kenny lawlers, etc chasing dollars. I'll bet any thing that every guy on the ol could've got more money with another team since 2019. I could see Desjarlais getting lured away though, if he gets cut in the NFL teams like BC, Edm, Tor etc should be willing to pay twice what we could afford.
  11. The offensive issue is soo multi faceted it will require a multi pronged attack. For the DI, I think rosters are too small already. But you could tweak DI in other ways. Limit DI's on D, give them less offensive/defensive reps, only allow them to sub in if an imp goes down and is out for the game etc. That said I think the meat of the problem is lack of creativity in offense. In the past 5 - 10 years the NFL and ncaa have stormed past the cfl in terms of developing offensive strategy. The roots of the systems we see flourishing today are old, but they were long relegated to desperate junk college programs with low talent and athleticism. Spread to run, RPO, QB option run, and Flex offenses that run tight stacks and spread with motion / post snap run football south of the border now. Mean while up here every one is doing the old 49ers offense as seen through the lense of paul lapolice. Mtl has tried to institute RPO under khari jones but has not been very good with it. The CFL has lost touch with the ncaa as a venue for coaching talent. All we see now is former cfl players, who have cfl coaching lineages. No one breaks the mold. This applies to defense too. CFL coaching has become inbred past the point of The Hills Have Eyes. Each team should be carrying a none CFL coach like the global player we carry. Back when Michael vick entered the NFL the majority of his runs were adlib. The designed run calls were extremely uninspired and not creative. If you watch what the ravens do now it's like a student who failed gr5 science compared to a physics doctoral candidate. You could force defenses to have a certain amount of players on the line of scrimmage at the snap of the ball to make deep cover harder, or limit the men on the line to reduce qb pressure. You could greatly increase the penalty for punting out of bounds between the 20s, and change rules for alignment on blocking for punts so that it's much riskier and more worth while to go for it on 3rd down. More PI calls made the passing game much worse, but you could take out the ability to jam wrs. Lots of options exist to tweak the offensive rule set to enable offenses. At the end of the day, CFL teams are doing a poor job of investing in and developing OL, especially imp ol. Teams aren't following the trends and making good use of the plethora of athletic qbs, and coaching is stagnant. The teams created this situation and now want every one else to suffer in order to fix it for them rather than doing the work and dealing with specific issues on their own.
  12. I really hope that the new CBA has profit sharing with the players, longer guaranteed contracts, and some changes to the global issues Hansen is suffering from right now.
  13. CFL calling it self a pedestrian product? Wow. The people in charge of the cfl are only limitless in their ability to get dumber, and do their job worse. I like the hash mark move idea. That would well be worth trying. Changing the length of holding is a terrible idea. The pass rush makes the passing game as exciting as it is. We already muddle through horrid struggles with holding calls that would just make it much worse.
  14. Cant blame him for harping on it tbh. We've all had points that stuck in our craw over the years, but very few of them had such a likely hood of killing canadian football. I think the best case scenario at this point is, significant enough fan back lash that the puppet masters have to about face and sacrifice Ambrosie to appease the masses. Mean while looking for another hapless stooge to fill the void. I don't think a comish has run this league since cohon. And I think that's what it needs. A real leader in a real position of power.
  15. Except he's played 18 games just twice in seven years. 100k base, + his 30k signing bonus, +15k for making the active roster, +5k for playing atleast 9 games. = 150k. That which is most likely leaves him tied for 2nd lowest max on that list. The remaining 6k would tie into playing all games, and likely divisional / league all star, or MOL. Just twice has yoshi been a west all star, and only once has he been a league all star. He's always going to be out shined by bryant for MOL.
  16. https://3downnation.com/2022/03/18/the-cfls-offensive-line-salaries-for-the-2022-season/ top 20 OL salaries in the cfl for this year. Bryant is no3, but 3 guys below him have a higher maximum contract value. So he could end up 6th. Couture is 12th, and the article points out that he has never missed a game in his 5 year career. Yoshi is 17th. Its been the best OL in the league since bond and hardrick drew in early in the 2016 season. And it's going to be the best OL in the league again in 2022. The elk have 3 in the top 20, the riders have 3, ott 2, bc has 2, ham 2, mtl 2, argos 2, and cal has 1. It feels like most cfl teams (other than cal and winnipeg) are fighting over each others guys thinking that dropping their 2 best ol for other teams with crappy ols 2 best ol will some how fix their ol.
  17. Man tre Ford ran a 4.45 40 and is getting nfl interest. I'd love to see him in the cfl with a good spread to run rpo
  18. Time for social media backlash from cfl fans. If they aren't stopped now we won't have a cfl in 5 years.
  19. Not like they once did. But they do. Really it's not a position you draft For nearly as much. Which means vets recirculate more. Check how many krs have tds in the nfl then come up here. An easy way is looking at cfl return men with nfl xp and check for tds. It's a tiny group I don't think any currently in the league. Once you break one you have camp invites for as long as you want. He's made over 2mil in the nfl. What kind of offer do you think it'll take 250k or more? He also becomes a prime candidate for the usfl too. It'd give him a chance to play right after in the nfl. At 30 a cfl contract is a career move. Meanwhile he qualifies for an NFL pension. Iirc the difference between 3 years of service and 5 years is 70k to 120k a year with the Max of 210 ish after 7. I don't see an incentive for him to come up north this year.
  20. I'm betting he gets more work as a kr down south this year
  21. Qft. Jackson Simmons and whop is a whole lot to be excited about. Looks like the best crop of young Imp wrs we've had in a while. Sure would like to see Meredith come back for camp and maybe draft another ni wr but the qbs are gonna have a great time in camp with all these guys.
  22. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/whop-philyor/32005048-4978-5891-7060-c4e4995ca099 https://ras.football/ras-information/?PlayerID=19053 This guy is incredibly quick and explosive. Combine that with the incredibly toughness and strength and he looks like a special get. Reminds me a lot of arland bruce.
  23. I dont think so. 1 do expect that eli will be back. 2, gray is better. 3, he'd have no chance of displacing one of our imp tackles. Finally he will probably draw too much money. No reason for a desperate team not to give him 100k range. What a gong show of a franchise though. Even with pinball around it feels like he's a puppet.
  24. Right? And how could they not at least trade him for a draft pick? He's 28 and would start for a couple cfl teams, (cough cough riders) He'd be a real good get for ott or bc too actually.
  25. https://3downnation.com/2022/03/14/argos-release-ratio-breaking-offensive-tackle-jamal-campbell-ahead-of-off-season-bonus/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook Argos cut their NI tackle to save 7500$ of roster bonus. Which im betting is because they spent their entire seasons worth of bonus money.
