Funny, but good on him. Hes trying to stay engaged in the city and franchise and doing some good.

I think our system is as qb pressure friendly as it gets. They can be improved, but you wont take a guy whose slow and make quick release and quick read his strength. Not at the pro level. By then these guys have seen an insane amount of reps. Defenses play too tight for 1 step drop stuff, 3 step drop is the common rhythm for timing plays. 5 and 7 are deeper routes which we dont run much. I agree with the sprint out. We could do soo much more with strevelers running. Drag routes from the back side, play action sprint out to the wide side. Run the QB draw on a clear out deep routes play etc. Ive been diying to see good shovel pass play. He doesnt make the best decisions in RPO/ option run which isnt surprising its very nuanced and he has no experience in it. So give him simple shovel options a couple passing options with the grain and clear outs. I dont think buck is the issue, but he may or may not be the right guy as well.

Quick decisiveness, reading, and release are some thing you can work to improve but not some thing you can gain. You gotta prioritize that in scouting. Previously his decision making process and reading were good. Though he seemed to be playing rattled when he struggled this year. Tucking the ball early, choppy footwork, not stepping up in the pocket etc. In the past when he struggled his throwing motion would elongate into a wind up. Both will lead to taking more shots. But I dont think hes ever gotten close to fully recovering from last years injury. Previously he was fully able to roll out as needed, and even broke the occasional decent run. This year his mobility looked worse then late danny mac or kerwin bell. To me he looks this year like collaros looked when he went to ssk.

Yeah if any thing our qbs are put in the safest position in the cfl. Short throws, good OL, great blocking Rb, lots of wrinkles and PA to keep the D honest. If any thing BC and mike reilly have lived in the danger zone the most and he will have played the most games out of any qb that was the starter out of TC.

Not big on harris, though we could do worse. I would love to get an elite wr though.
-
been an unreal year for qbs. its nice to have soo many young guys flourishing but its tough to see soo many brutal injuries to vets.
-
I wouldnt want to either, I hope its not us. But im sure some one will. Imo If ott doesnt clean house I could see them doing some thing like going for masoli and trading for franklin/MBT or signing one of the vets like collaros.
-
I feel like some one is gonna over pay masoli for fear of not getting the "best" fa qb on the market.
-
Its gonna be real interesting to see what the market pays the free agent QBs this off season.

He wasnt chasing he could not be any more side by side...
-
Is that what he got? Daaaaang

The reffing was brutal, at the same time you have to put your self in a position where its egregious for the ref to throw the flag and we didnt do that. That PI by rose was just bad. he seemed to think he was beat far worse then he was. Unless he was gassed it doesnt make sense.

They put him in a mid range match zone at times. Youre right, he should be playing a shallow mid field role not man coverage. He was also in a switch on that play which is tough to recover from with that pass going right out. They did the same with kyrie a few times. He has incredible speed, but doesnt have the coverage skill to do that. Why you do that when you already arent getting pressure with your front or coverage is beyond me. The 30 front didnt get pressure either. But atleast then you arent wasting bodies.
-
Youre right that communication should be happening to let the dbs know the ball is out of the qbs hands. But you can also read the wr. and in the redzone when a route flattens out you gotta look. he wasnt even in a bad position to look. he just didnt do it.

We scored enough team points to win the game, but yeah both are the critical question. Why is our bend but dont break defense suddenly breaking, and why is our offense un able to cash in more point. Calgary nullified our pressure package. And if you send rushers but dont get pressure you are gonna be beat. Our defense is already designed to give up medium chunks of yards. On top of that though tackling has been very poor. Terrible angles, arm attempts and selling out for hits. On offense harris was again running very effectively. But carried 11 times. He got 6 screen passes. but calgary was very well prepared for those. Harris didnt touch the ball nearly enough or get put in a position to succeed, we had some drops, one particularly bad pass picked, But we had 3 guys with 4+ catches and 4 with 3+. 19 passes for 96 yards and a long of 15 yards. Thats a 5 yards per completion average. Blm had 5 guys with 3+ catches but for a combined 222 yards. With longs of 55, 42, 21 and 24. The stamps targeted passes down field and we did not. And we did not make up for those yards on the ground.

Rios shoulda picked that insane td pass too. All he had to do was look.

McGuire is a hell of an arm talent. This is where not working him on sooner really hurts. Just missed that pass.
