2022 CFL Draft (CIS/NCAA and International)
All three are pretty close and in the same quality tier imo. The question is will they all get a decent chance to develop. Both good points. I dont think TO has the best NI depth in the league, but they have done a great job of rebuilding it in a hurry.

Emilus is a good get for ssk. A bit surprised they went wr, especially over Zerr.

Gregor goes 6 to tor. I'm pretty surprised. He better hurry up and develop into a starter so the argos can cut him to save a bit of cash. Nasty physical ol, would've fit in well here.

2022 CFL Draft (CIS/NCAA and International)
I was just thinking, its great for the league and all that the draft is on TV but personally I kind of liked the old lightning fast draft (compared to this) at noon on a weekday. I wonder where Makonzo will fit in edmonton. I dont see him as a wil or a sam like 3dn, but knowing chris jones he will probably play every db, and lber spot plus de.

Which pick? The ol with bad mechanics whose solid in a bad crop or the dl who isnt in the top 3 or 4 at his position?

2022 CFL Draft (CIS/NCAA and International)
He's gonna draft John metchie and convert him to db, or Tyrell ford and convert him to qb lol

And the reaching continues.

Wouldn't be the cfl draft with out an early reach. With all the trades that've happened I have no doubt they could've traded down and got their guy + extra value. Same. But I never seem to be on the same page as the mafia's draft picks. Betting against my own judgement is the safer pick lol.

This draft has a good handful of guys with the athleticism and upside to become starters in the secondary or at wil.

I doubt it, so probably. Adeboboye would be fun to corner the market on RBs. Id love a guy like Tyrell ford at 13. I'm putting my money on us going DB/lber at 13. Or maybe taking a deep futures pick. As always as soon as the top tier of talent is gone (or sooner,) we will see a run on OL. It would line up for Gregor Mackellar to be there for us though. Maybe Hogan-Saindon will still be on the board at 13. I think atleast the top 3 ol will be gone by then. I keep seeing people linking Keaton bruggeling to us, could be we go that way. Brain says Schakel, gut says Mackellar, heart says one of the fords or philpots falls to us. Probably all wrong.

Idk who I'd have no2, and it would be a huge drop off, but it wouldn't be the stamps. Yeah pretty much every year the cross over looks promising before the season begins.

2022 CFL Draft (CIS/NCAA and International)
Only 2 guys drafted from the mexican league. I wonder how teams could ever manage to lure a legit prospect like kingsley jonathon the no1 pick, who is going to an NFL camp, with the awful low cap on global contracts. If he gets cut and the als try to offer him the value itll take for him to come north and the league vetos it, we could see a PR firestorm. 8 punters and 2 kickers taken. I like the global player thing, but it's not going to do much of any thing if its all punters and guys can't make any decent money.

I would. He's known to us. Because we've seen a decent amount of reps spread out over a large sample size. Other teams do a piss poor job of scouting and developing NI OL in general. They do an even worse job of scouting other teams National ol depth. If he and gray etc weren't peripheral players they would've been hotly sought after previously. Same with most of our developmental OL over the past few years. Go back and look at what Couture makes with respect to the rest of the OL in the league and you'll see. Teams don't scout other teams ol worth a damn. The only time teams really go after OL is when all star NIs come available, they try and plug and play thinking itll fix a bad OL. And it seldom works. Thats why we see soo many good and great OL (like dennis and bond) flop on bad ols, only to rebound well with other teams. Im guessing a mini camp invite?

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/tom-hackett/32004841-4361-4270-32a0-4b7c8fc0ce7d Hackett looks like a real gem. Love that we are going after punters. Legs was horrid at punting and kicking off. Mourtada was at least good at kick offs. Sleep dalton looks like much more of a directional punter. Hackett seems to have a much better leg, but is a bit slow. I like that the DB played in laval and is very familiar with the Canadian game. Should be interesting to see how he does in camp. Laughs in taman, then coughs into a subway napkin.

2021/22 - CFL Offseason - Non-Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champion Thread
I like the elks move here to move down and get depth picks in the first 20. Lots of good prospects. Not bad from montreal either, I like richards.

Looks very much like a young, new Jake too. Hard not to like this deal. We move down a bit and lose 1 pick but get a guy who would be on the active roster if the season started right now. Slots in very well with the loss of kongbo. Not likely to be a full time nose tackle as a pro, but a good DT who can play nose in a pinch. https://tdnprod.wpengine.com/2020/04/26/cfl-draft-profile-defensive-tackle-cam-lawson-queens/

I can see the logic in that, but the CFL seldom works that way. From eli being drafted in the first place, to ruby being re instated, and soo many more moves. The level of awareness in cfl front offices on peripheral players is extremely bad. To some extent its always going to be a fact of life. CFL teams have a fraction of the scouting funds that every other league in north america has, and they have 10x more ground to cover than every thing short of baseball and soccer. If it wasn't for danny macs fringe relation to eli the entire league would've slept on him. Still behind whopper, but in a normal year he'd be the run away favorite for TC Most Valuable Name. Craphonso Thorpe is still my all time favorite.

Same. I also wonder if it effects Eli. I could see them having been waiting him out to get him on as cheap a deal as possible. If they can get him on a min or close to it, and Dobson comes up this year, plus the possibility that Desjarlais gets cut that's all gotta play in heavily. I also think we will be inclined towards gambling on a lotto ticket pick who has NFL options, not just for the upside but for financial savings just like with dobson last year.

2022 CFL Draft (CIS/NCAA and International)
Should have a poll. The various combinations of the First 2 picks ol vs every other position. (Ol/ol, ol/other, other/Ol, other/other) Tre Ford is going to be the most interesting guy to watch imo. With an NFL invite I think he could go any where. I think the team that drafts the most defenders in the first 3 or 4 rounds or the most lotto tickets wins the draft.

I was wondering what was going on. They had him listed on the roster but not the active roster ir pr etc I bet he's here this year now.

Great arm talent and size. Mentally tough and aggressive decision making but not great at reading a d and not mobile. Very mbt skill set but much better experience. Interesting pick up not our usual type of qb
