  1. Yeah. Qbs are a lot more pro ready now then in the past but its still a surprise. More qbs are more athletic, more college systems are using offenses similar to the cfl etc.
  2. The year the streak ends for us. The qb injuries have been nightmarish for the league. Its a miracle that soo many young guys have played soo well.
  3. Got em for peanuts. Good guy as a 6th man. Great team guy. Average guard, awful tackle. Seen him whiff and get monstered way too many times.
  4. He was supposed to be ready for the first pre season game, then the start of the regular season. Then nadda.
  5. Presser is gonna say he is a great competitor, the team isnt going to rush him back and its day to day with an upper body injury.
  6. Thats true, the average wonderlic score in the NFL is inline with surgeons. That said, in the modern game you have to be strong and most importantly tough. Both physically and mentally tough.
  7. Streveler and Reilly have freakish outlier strength that is well beyond diminishing returns for a qb. Both are still short of the god of all work out qbs, michael bishop. But then Tee martin had monstrous strength as well. (youd think he was a DL watching him hit weights) Nichols is physically tougher then most qbs. Nichols has never been a well polished athlete, if he wasnt a qb he wouldnt be a pro athlete. But with his mobility and being on the wrong side of 30 I dont see him gaining much use from refining much more.
  8. Those werent on the money though, 2 were deep balls thrown behind wrs making them have to one stop and the other slow and try to catch against their momentum. It is as you said though, a tiny sample size. On a sample size 2 to 3 times larger darvin adams is the best passer on our team. You can go back to the post season games and previous seasons and see more of the same from nichols. Guys stopping coming back to make catches on what would be easy TDs if hit in stride.
  9. That is indeed a good sign for his arm then.
  10. Could have a brace instead of a sling.
  11. He did. He moved positions a LOT with the vols. Pretty much a new spot each year. His pass rush inside and on the edge are much more polished then I ever expected. His motor is great too. Hes constantly in on the back end of plays and I havent seen him pull up in a trot once, when some one leaves the tackle box.
  12. He said Thursday, but didn't say which month or year. Secretive as always. Nuef will be ready for the start of the regular season too... in 2022.
  13. Thatd probably be the healthiest he has ever been in a bomber jersey.
  14. What has really impressed me is his ability to pass rush against interior linemen aswell. Both lining up in side and twisting to the inside. That opens up tons of options. Rogers fills the foketi 3.0 role. Though I think gray is going to be a tackle at some point.
  15. Both willy and bridge are below other available options imo
  16. As far as our back up QBs go in recent years he has a strong amount of experience. And it's a large amount for his age and time in the league. But yeah we haven't seen the tip of the iceberg with him yet.
  17. Second year but yeah. Teams Dont need to respect him the same way. He offers a lot more running and better deep throws. I'd rather scheme for a Nichols then a steveler. Thats the truth it won't be the same.
  18. Yeah we are. We haven't needed much passing to win games this year. So I like our chances. Streveler may or may not be the long term answer but we will see that too.
  19. The pro Nichols people want to give him all the credit in wins and no blame in loses. The long and short of it is he has been sub elite to border line elite, but that was one year. A year and a half ago. Since then he has been more average plus or minus. With some flashes but more minus then plus games. We've seen QBs below him elevate above him (masoli, Harris, arguably the young ones this year) and he has dropped off more then ever. All while our team poised more then ever to win a GC. Immobile? No one in the league is immobile compared to Nichols. Have to take the out come with a grain of salt. The Toronto team around him is among the worst teams of the decade if not the worst.
  20. Also went a year in college with out a turn over. He's gonna be fine.
  21. Hallett has even looked good in limited reps. Monster draft by the Canadian mafia this year.
  22. Every jumbo pack play. I saw him pancake two guys one he ran the length of the line and got away with a hold. He looks strong af he can move and hes nasty. Fits right in. Gonna be another gem. The amount of reps Kongbo has taken the last two weeks he may well have started with how much we normally rotate. He's been better and better with more reps. I had hoped he would become a good player for us. He's soo much better right now then I thought he could be in year one. Coming off an injury and missing camp it's amazing. Best player in this year's draft and end of the year he will probably be the best in a bunch of years. This guy should've been in an NFL camp this year.
  23. He clearly has a real love for football. Landed a huge diamond in the rough with him.
  24. Yep. Young qb mistake. Gotta know when to take the sack and when to toss it away.
  25. He looked lost against the rush in the second half. He was better then the last few weeks in the first stretch of the game.
