Im guessing its the wind, rust/adrenaline could be a factor we will see i guess. The FB stream isnt bad

Couple tackles n a big pick great start for fenner. So far the OL has looked very good in pass pro, meh in run pro. Nichols showing good poise in the pocket. Wind is pretty wicked though.

Interesting talk about how far petermann seems to be a head of simonise this year. Big first down catch for him on the first play of the game.

No doubt, what davis did with the AFL, and the NFL merger was gigantic. He must be rolling around in his grave with a relocation still pending for (i think?) 2020 to vegas. However his micro managing and front office antics will live on in the greatest infamy. Like all historic greats, he deserves to be recognized for his fantastic contributions. But its equally important to keep the grain of salt in the forefront. Paul Brown has seen a kind of cleansing at the hands of history due to the effect of rose tinted glasses.

Every championship team has a couple guys that other teams players hate to play against. That physical, nasty guy who goes out of his way to mash defenders. 1 or 2 skill players who do that leads to the whole group of offensive skill players doing it a lot more. A lot of times the difference between a big play and nearly a big play is a skill player making an un expected block. A a lot of positions are dog fights for roster spots. We have a great amount of talent, but the grit behind the talent is whats going to push the team to the next level.

Was wondering this too. Whose been the stars of riders TC? How is judge coming along?
-
I didnt see the play but it sounded like he was carrying the ball. In which case you gotta be more aware. If not and it was a block and on the dirty side, well tbh ill take some nasty edge out side of the OL. You have limited ability to be physical and make an impact. If its a full on cheap shot, thats not cool. If its similar to what weve seen out of our OL getting down field and smashing guys trying to get in on the back of the play im all for it.

Some owners have done stuff like this, al davis back in the day for instance. I feel like this is a case of a small time owner who wants the prestige of pro sports rather then getting some one big enough that they dont have to micro manage the team. Need more bob youngs and less of this junk. QFT

Right? Holy smokes what a mess. Id rather the league continue flipping all the bills for them then let another dumpster fire run a team into the ground. (even further)

Great points, Este especially looked solid and good on some teams action as well. Despite no Mo, no Randle and fogg being gone I feel like this is a strong secondary with out the weak link weve seen in recent years. Atleast so far on paper any way. (pray we dont have another roc)

I am pretty sure this is correct. Every one being healthy I think the starters break down as Gaitor, fenner, sayles, rose, alexander, and jones. With one of humes, cooper, and maybe coleman as a DI extra db. Good crop of dbs considering the turn over this year.

Hope so. Could be a lucrative event for the bombers.
-
Very much so. This would have been a golden opportunity for us a while ago. Right now all I could see him doing is being on our PR/IR at best. Unless we suddenly started 3 NI wrs which I dont see happening.
-
Awesome piece, Rodgers working on making it a home game haha. Im not sure you'll see much of those guys. My greatest interest in all of this will be ticket sales and the nature of the crowd at the game. I'm really not sure either way, Its a largely different crowd then we will see at bomber games IMO. But the drawing power could be huge. It really depends on the person. Some people go down to the shop or mix in shopping etc. I've known people to red-eye out to high-end US golf courses, play a round sleep in the vehicle and drive back. For me, if I can set up a double dip to watch the jays/raptors and an NFL game that's worth it. I'm the type to pay more for better though. This is certainly a different thing, to see an NFL game in Winnipeg. As said very likely the only time it'll happen. And the amount of people who will pay anything for an experience, especially an exclusive one, is astronomical.

100%. Schrot could get a PR shot (he looked solid on teams on top of his td) but the NI wrs are set. I feel like we would be in good shape even if one of those guys started a bunch of games this year. I hope both get more touches this year and a decent chunk of action tomorrow.
-
I assume its this. I don't see us starting 3 NI wrs early this season. He also doesnt mention petermann. But both are on the depthchart for tomorrow.

OT, I know Neufeld won't need a lot of reps to be technically ready if any. But physically? It's a huge jump to go from offseason to regular season with 0 reps in Tc and preseason. It also raises questions of how long has he been hurt, and when will he be 100%? I wish local media would get some better answers about what's going on with foketi and neufeld. Agree to disagree on Roh. ogopogo was a better pass rusher as well. Jefferson is raw and needing further refinement. If he had high-end polish he would be in the NFL. But he gets better all the time and probably will end up in the NFL. Jeffcoat was handily leading the team in pressures until he got hurt, he doesn't sell out for pressure though. But most of our ends right now are disciplined and assignment sound.
-
Agree. Going down for a Vikes game you get to really experience the atmosphere, which you won't get here. And yeah it's great to turn it into a multi-game affair.
-
Healthy Jeffcoat is much better at rushing the QB, and Willie Jefferson is a better pass rusher yet. Roh is a steady solid end who is good across the board and can get hot. But isnt great, and is redundant.
-
Really hope Mcguire sits on the PR for a year and is in camp next year.
-
wonder if speller has less of a chance of being poached. I feel like Eli being able to practice would be huge. I'd rather not see him hidden on the IR. I can't wait to see gray pulling/playing zone read and smashing guys at the second level. Double nope.
-
Idk how much trade value either has. Someones gonna shake loose. I would love to see all three guys stick around somehow. Won't be easy though.
-
Some really tough choices coming up for the coaching staff. DL is really deep. If we parted ways with Roh and Nevis that'd free up a good chunk of money for NFL cast offs. Jefferson, Jeffcoat, Richardson, and Bryant would give us a great line. Di McCallister and roster jake Thomas as the back up interior guy. Griffiths and Lachance are both interesting guys, but I think only Griffiths sticks around. On the OL I think speller and couture are neck and neck. But experience will get couture the nod. Along with gray, Neufeld, Bryant, and Hardrick. I think Desjarlais will be the 6th man. Which leaves a choice to hide Eli or speller. I think Eli's upside has a big edge for being the guy to hide/develop. Even RB. Obviously, no one will supplant Harris. I can't see Augustin beating out Oliveira. Brady just has too much raw talent, size, and skills (hands). Even then Augustine has done everything asked of him and deserves to be on a roster. Santiago looks dynamic and dangerous but I can't see where we would work him in or a reason to keep him on the PR with the above 3. The last preseason game is going to be huge for Mccallister, Bryant, Richardson, Nevis, and Roh. I feel like the contracts will make it hard for Nevis and Roh to outfight the new guys for spots. The young 3 are just soo explosive. I expect to see the starting core of the OL in front of Nichols, which is going to make the last guys even harder.

Yeah that's pretty abnormal for pre season. But not for that prick maas.

GDT Pre-season Game 1 - Edmonton at Bombers

I don't see him making crazy money. The dl could shake loose a few big bucks. Plus I think we still have money for an NFL cut.
