GDT Pre-season Game 1 - Edmonton at Bombers
wbbfan replied to Floyd's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yeah. More then any thing bennett proved his value as the no3, and mcguire earned a PR spot. -
Seems a lot worse with the limited pads/contact practices these days.

Ryan adapted to a new style in the NFL. Angle punting and hang time. He probably isn't programmed to punt for length. You don't usually lose length on punts like that with age. I didn't watch the riders play though so not sure what's up with him. Will be interesting to see. -
German kid looked great on teams

1 the returners. Especially Nelson. He not only was productive he made the smart plays and didn't risk it by running side ways. Whitehead looked dangerous very stokes esq but Will risk losing yards to make yards. 2 Mcguire. Played surprisingly well on a night the whole offense seemed rusty and out of sync. Bennett made some nice plays but had wrs struggling while he was in. 3 mccallister/Richardson some great pressure, out side discipline and a great sack each. HH Schrot with the TD catch late then getting carried off the field by hardrick. Honorable mention to Olivera on his great run on his first play from scrimmage.

Its just soo darn cute with fans of teams in the east division try to talk smack. 😂

Id have lots of cars if I was wealthy. This thread is awesome! Raptors won game 1 of the nba finals. The first time the finals have been played out side of the US, the game was good and the crowd was insane. The first quarter was like the start of games at Duke. The raptors are a huge long shot and pulling out the first win is massive.

GDT Pre-season Game 1 - Edmonton at Bombers

We are at a point where our Core players don't need a lot of reps to get ready. Rest and maintain or recovering health is the biggest value to most of them. That said, on the OL with the turn over we have getting some reps in with as close to the projected starters as you can get is important to build chemistry. Without Neufeld or Hardrick I would think Bryant too would sit and wed get them in next week. If gray is playing next to him and couture at center though you can still get a lot of value out of having the guy next to you in the trenches for some reps. Even if not the whole OL. Its also very possible that Bryant, Harris, etc want the reps. Mos is the ultimate player's coach and in preseason leaves it up to the players for how many reps they need. So its fully possible that either they wanted some reps. Some guys just need more time to get re-acclimated. Other guys just wanna get out there asap and hit guys playing for another team ASAP after the offseason. (cant blame them) -
Yep, and inevitable rider fans on here expecting to poach Streveler from us in the off season.
-
That'd never happen though. They have talked about going to a wider field though.

I'll probably watch this one, at home online. Baring some amazing reviews from reputable sources. I don't get how it's going to be a faithful successor to t2 without John Connor. Either way I hope this is the last in the franchise. Also hope this is the last in the franchise. Rambo: home alone goes western.

agree 100% with KFC. Tried mary browns and it didnt seem any better. Was going to try popeyes but i hear its constantly a huge line up. My go to for eating out is Simon's at the forks. The Lomito sandwich is to die for.

Similar situation, a guy who could get it done at a high level but injuries derail their career. Pierce was a warrior as you say though. He had no quit in him what so ever. Collaros is the opposite. Hes already looking at the exit with one foot out the door. If I was the riders after hearing that Id be looking at every way possible to move on from collaros. When a guy is mentally broken like that, especially at QB you cant rest your season on his shoulders. As a bomber fan, I look forward to them languishing. If Soli stays healthy he could reset the league record for tackles in a season.

GDT Pre-season Game 1 - Edmonton at Bombers

Yep. And not terribly with Nichols. With the high probability of a very small amount of time for Bryant, and no Hardrick its better to keep him out of this game. I would expect something like a half + 1 series for Streveler, 1 and a half quarters for Bennett and McGuire the mop-up at the end. Those reps are extremely valuable to both Bennett, Streveler, and the depth Wrs. Mcguire doesn't have much of a shot of making the team IMO. With Nichols not playing this game, I would expect him to take more than half of next week. I don't see any way he takes less than that. The reps in live fire action with the new Wrs and OL starters are far too important. It would be interesting though, if they gave Streveler a quarter, the first series of the 2nd half, and mixed him in heavily in the option package throughout the rest of the game with Bennett. -
It would be awesome if they played on the wider field but still at 100 yards long.

I think we will easily dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. cant wait to see him in game action. -

One might say hes a stealth bomber... Foketi IS ironman! -
Yeah, the snap to the pistol is a lot easier then to the full gun but yeah It all depends on who can snap.
-
I dont think any of them can be. Maybe Desjarlais? But I dont think so.
-
Imo, for the vast majority of teams its the next best OL. The drop off after that is steep. Since they get primarily used on the edge in short yardage packages I would think someone with the ability to play T would be a premium. Versatility is always huge in the cfl though. Especially for both NIs, and linemen. Since its generally "easier" to play guard, Ideally your 6th would be someone who can play Tackle, and you have to have someone who can snap in an emergency even if you have to shift guys around to make the replacement work. Shifting someone over and bringing in a back up on the OL is begging for struggle though.
-
Pretty much. Though we could always have some hidden on the IR as well. I think speller, kozcwara, and ODC could sit on the PR safely. Desjarlais would be a good fit as the 6th ol. Maybe gray even slides out to the TE spot on goal line packages and Desjarlais moves inside. Eli could be a dark horse for the 6th man as well since he is our other center. A pancake machine like eli is also extremely valuable in short yardage packages.

OL Manase Foketi not in camp, still on the team
wbbfan replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I wonder when we can expect an update on foketi. -
dont sleep on Eli as well. The depth of young NI OL talent is insane this year.
-
Goff or not, he made a ton of amazing catches in that clip. Constantly high pointing the ball and catching with his hands. Great body control too.
-
I dont think we will either. But thats how it is. If we dont live up, even if we win the sky will be falling. It's Kyrie though, right? Poor guy really can't take anything for granted. I hope he can make the most out of his potential. Hes a great athlete and playing next to bighill will allow him a great amount of margin for error. I feel more and more comfortable with that spot each day. Though I still dream of an NFL returnee.
