fantastic news. Suhk is the next big guy to lock up. If we get him and biggie then thats huge.
-
He didnt play any where near as good as bond played... He was solid in run pro but constantly exposed in pass pro. When he slid over to tackle it was even worse. There is a good reason why no other team has kicked the tires on him, and why he has sat on the bench for soo many games in his career with out getting scooped.

I think we have to look long and hard at a few vets. Wild, ogopogo, nuefeld, and dressler. Id take dressler back in a reduced role at reduced pay in a heartbeat, but we can't rely on him. Randle has also seemed more and more mortal. I expect gray to nab nuefelds starting job next camp. I could see nevis being a cap casualty too, just due to money and the ratio. I like nelson as well. Quick and shifty. Id still like to see us recruit a few high up side return men though. In the cfl you never have enough weapons. id love for us to add a no1 wr. But im hoping we make better use of guys we have, in particular the nucks. I hope we keep bennett at qb3 as well.
-
All depends on where he is at with his progress in next years camp. I certainly wouldn't hand over the keys to him. If you are looking to move in his direction I think you bring in a vet like glenn to push him and make him fight to win a spot. Its a terrible idea to hand a green qb the starting reigns with out a camp battle.

Them and no one else. The rest of the league, leagues fans and pundits have long held that the als are the biggest ? at qb in the league. Thats a strange defense to choose. Since streveler put up more passing tds per start then nichols, more tds in total, and then considering the game we just saw out of nichols passing. One dimensional weapon vs no dimensional weapon? Averaged more yards per pass (be it marginally) and a much higher passer efficiency.
-
Imo if we were going to go that direction we would need 1 more legit cfl qb. Streveler is the future but needs insulating and someone to help groom. Id be in for giving reilly a huge short-term deal. Id also be in favor of bringing in trestman. the difference is the als have not had the replacement guy at any point in that time.

I wish I knew. Some ridiculous ticky tack calls in coverage. I could just see them thinking, in no other world of football is that a penalty. I continue to be disgusted by what is consider PI these days. Gross. The big difference was when under pressure BLM stood tall, stepped up into the pocket and threw. Nichols has been tucking the ball at the first sight of pressure and has seemed confused by the option to run himself. I suspect the ladder is from his lingering knee injury.

1 Jeffcoat. 2 more sacks great pressure tonight. 2 medlock. Huge punt, 57 yarder, made every field goal. 3 Harris. Some huge runs, we fell out of it and got away from him but he worked hard for every yard. Hh the forced fumble recovered by Loffler. I think it was Sayles? On the strip.

What is your favorite - - EVER - -Bomber VICTORY over the Riders?

IIRC that was 57 yards. On some epic, last-minute drive too. great pick. since sellers, josh ranek, messam, and Harris. About the best power backs, we've seen in 20 years in the league. And for my money, the most well-rounded backs were sellers and Harris. Also important to remember though that back then teams didnt use the SAM and 5+wr sets as much. Still alot of 2 back sets and bigger LBers in that day. I always loved watching sellers block. Either using blink as a battering ram at times or making premiere edge rushers disappear for entire games. -

02 or 03. Blink is banged up so mike sellers take most of the carries. last drive of the game running down the clock and he just trucks through the entire RR D for 6 or 7 carries. Pushes the pile, loses his helmet and keeps on trucking. -
this is true, but you seldom get your shot in the best or even a good spot. You make the best of a bad situation like streveler did. Bridge shows rare flashes of brilliance passing, following by long stretches of meh. Nealon greene with a bit more potential to him. Nichols in a down year, still better then Collaros. TBH, Id take Streveler and Bennett over Collaros and Bridge. Id be surprised if either collaros or bridge are back in regina next year though.

wish corney was health. He's pretty near the same size as jake the snake. Watching the replay man if wolitarski can access that extra gear he used to run down that TD catch on a regular basis next year he could be the new elite NI WR in the league. See a lot of brad sinopoli in him. With more upside.

That backwards pass call was bs I was hoping mos would challenge it. Alls well that ends well though I guess.
-
I love the Nelson munz award. Good old fashioned football. Defense and running game.
-
The moes must be really mad after seeing the lions efforts. Cats look tough. Good over all team. The division finals should be excellent Games.
-
Holding is like that in general modern big athletes are too quick and explosive if they didn't let it slide they'd have a flag on every play
-
Love the evolving option stuff. Can't wait to see what kind of packages are in play for him next year. Really wanna see some shovel pass
-
Jeffcoat should be fined max. If they decided to suspend him I'd be ok with it if that was the new standard upheld across the board. Right now in the cfl that's a fine and often a missed call. Gonna be an interesting off season for the riders. Great, great game. Classic west division cold weather defensive show down.
-
The only real knock to hold against him tnite was he tucked the ball away too quick and looked to run rather then stepping up into the pocket. But he did protect it well and made good decisions. And it's hard to light it up in that cold and wind. The ball to woli sailed a bit but again weather will do that. And woli turned on the jets to pull it out. Game management win for him and Streveler.

1 Harris. Could be all three stars. 2 o line. Paved the way for Harris controlled the riders rush ends well 3 Jeffcoat. Much Will be said of the hit on bridge. I suspect he will be fined. Still beastly game. Hh Bennett with the teams tackle that stopped the bleeding on that final return. Honorable mention to wolitarski for a fantastic job of running down that td catch

we have those guys, Nichols and our offense doesn't time or lay in deep balls well at all. Overthrows, coming back past dbs and having to lay out is what you see on the majority of our deep shots. We dont hit guys in stride well. weve seen a bunch of 500k range guys, and 400-450k is the going standard for a reasonable starter these days. Considering bonuses on top of that, it really isnt that huge of a jump. The difference could also come from having less for when the PR expands, from guys like wild etc. Ogopogo would cover most of the distance etc. Yes he needs the guys and yes itll be tough to swing. But I would bet 6 or 7 teams offer him 500k+. And probably 3 over 550k.

No doubt in my mind of this. He was soo sharp with when to run, when to throw and when to toss it away. Ive never seen a QB who was soo dangerous running the ball, and also protected it first and foremost. I cant wait to see how far along he is in camp next year. If we have a disappointing playoff finish I could see wade n walters selling the farm to get Reilly in free agency. If he was the starter for 18 games with us, we'd a won 14 games.
-
He hits the hole deceptively quick and hard. It makes him seem like he is fast till you see him tackles 10-20 yards downfield. Not saying its a bad thing at all. Blink made a HOF career out of being lightning quick. Augustine obviously isnt blink quick but he is quick enough to stick around and be worth keeping around. If he takes the wade miller approach to teams he could make himself a very valuable guy with a long career. I fully expect us to bring him back for camp next year. That said we will have a tough choice for next year. I could see speller taking coutures 6th man spot and I expect gray to win a starting job next year.

Nelson looked very shifty indeed, guy oozes danger when he handles the ball. Reminds me of keith stokes. I was close on him getting HH as well.
