Yeah our tackling, in general, is not very good (outside of a small group of guys). A lot of bad pursuit angles, poor tackling form, selling out for hits etc. If a guy like drake nevis gets his arm around a QB that qb should be going down 9 times out of 10. Odd time you deal with a guy like mike reilly who is strong af. But weve seen far too many broken arm tackles by qbs in the back field this year. Yeah he looks like a guy who will be a lock for 1k yards a year for the next several years. This year is his coming out party. A back up to the HH, right after making a big first down catch Thompkins pinched inside and leveled an als defender with a block in run support. That type of effort away from the ball is contagious.

1 Roh, Monster game with 7 tackles 3 sacks fumble recovery and a tackle for a loss 2 Medlock nailing those long field goals. Couple great punts, though two poorer ones late. 3 Thompkins/wolitarsky. Both had a great game. especially big for thompkins coming back from that scary injury in the banjo bowl. hh Sayles coming up for a big hit on the much bigger stanback.

correct on no3. For me, ill take gambles of aggression. especially out of mos. Aggressive football is good football.

the biggest lie in the history of sports.
-
He was asked for the PR iirc but we have a rookie that wasnt in camp on the active roster. But yeah.
-
3 guys that played well enough to make the roster. one dt and two ends. It was boggling that we brought in another guy and have played him over bringing those guys back. especially montgommery.
-
that does happen to some extent. Though its more bad attitude pushing guys off a team and opening a spot for a less talented guy who is a better locker room fit. Imo with mos its more about him prioritizing different things. Like he puts a much much bigger value on a guy who can contribute on teams as well as offense or defense. It seems like a guy who is half as good at their primary job but 100% better on teams will keep a roster spot over a guy who is more of an offense or defense guy. I think examples of this are guys like wild, stankford, and hurl. vs guys like terrence frederick, tj thorpe, walker, rueben randle and white, also why kenbrell thompkins sat for soo long as well.
-
you arent normally the guy to say atodaso, but... What is strange to me is why we didnt bring back one of, awoleke, casher, or montgommery from camp. Those guys killed it. I know only two are ends but cmon those guys were great in camp and pre season. I dont think position is weighted very heavily in terms of the PR.

I feel like we could use petermann more in that type of role. But I can think of a bunch of spots we could use the extra depth at all the same. Especially DB.

So, Apparently Johnny Football Will Start For Als.

its either gonna be we chase manziel and see pipkin in the 4th after 10 sacks and 4 picks with a couple defensive TDs, or a LOT of Bomber fans will be hyperventilating in the 4th. Would be our kind of luck to be the first team to lose to manziel as he makes high lights all down south. but naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. He still has no OL and is still johnny manziel. Im torn on this one. Id be the last one to pull a young qb. And pipkin has shown the most life of what the als have. But dude is tossing up ints like hes danny mac-nichols. (i kid i kid) Id probably use a 2 qb system the rest of the way for the als. Even rotate in adams if one of the other two is in a deep struggle. Dont bounce back n forth with who is the starter this year. Establish that they are in a dog fight going into camp next year to try and lock up a qb1 job. -
At this point, everyone controls their own destiny outside of mtl and to. Win out and you're in.
-
yep ill be in the stands again too. but i sit higher up in the 231 range. Midfield, covered, great price, great angle love it.
-
isnt he coming off a major knee or ankle injury too? boobie and poop. with names like that how could we lose?
-
I find harris to be pretty meh. But i agree on masoli. All of the second tier guys are far behind the top tier. Even in the top tier, I consider BLM a good bit behind mike reilly.
-
Harris wasnt good overall last year, masoli just turned it around with june jones part way through last year, ray is made of glass and cant play enough to qualify for a ranking any more and same with lulay. Going into the season a reasonable argument could be made for a 3rd spot behind BLM and Reilly. Its a different tier in that 3rd spot though. Its sub elite. Right now id probably give masoli the edge despite playing in a niche (max pro) offense and lacking TD production. The real change is 1, nichols has gone from arguably the top of the 2nd tier to probably not in it at all anymore. And we now have some young guys barking at the heels of the 3rd tier of serviceable qbs threatening to put them out of work.

With respect to that, hardrick can not get healthy soon enough. Or foketi even. Neuf at tackle is a crime against the football gods. Jeffcoat sucks to lose too. Derek jones might actually take lofflers starting job with the new saftey role. I really hope two of those guys get healthy fast. Even corney to fill in more for jeffcoat would be fantastic.

New Era will be CFL jersey manufacturer
wbbfan replied to White Out's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
When it comes to uni changes, less is more. Go with the best/fan favorites for each team and stick with it. Having yearly third uniforms variants is fine. But every time we see a new manufacturer it seems like a few teams get really pooched. -
the longer the losing streak, the longer the posts get. if we miss the playoffs this year they will rival novels by Dostoevsky.
-
That without Jeffcoat, mo, poop, corney, and heavy action for rookie dbs. Iirc jeffcoat and poop are 1 and 2 in pressures for us.

petermann and simonise arent possession recievers. Petermann is a YAC guy and simonise is a deep threat. Demski is also a yac guy. Soo thats one possession wr. Adams is easily better then that and would be much better off on a team that has a better then hail mary chance on every pass deeper then 20. Thompkins has shown the same level of quality he did in his nfl starts. Dressler brings it and performs whenever he is healthy which is a legitimate concern. Doesnt matter who you have at WR when you cant get the ball to them.
-
Petermann on the nfl combine field would have lit it up and been drafted late or priority signed. Simonise was on an NFL team that wanted him back. And wolo is essentially just an IMP with a ben cahoon level canada connection. This is far from the jamie stoddard days of NI WR talent. I mean Demski is one of if not our best YAC receivers.

So can we start talking about firing MOS yet?
wbbfan replied to White Out's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Everyone is replaceable. One day we die/retire/move on and the world keeps turning. That said you dont pull the pin on a coach or player without something better in the wings unless they become a mike kelly level disaster. We can always talk about it, but as a franchise, nothing will be done this season. Mos wont become a disaster like that, and we cant get anything better right now anyway. In the offseason we could look at someone like claybrooks, but that is a big step back with a first time HC. What we could look at but is still a low percentage chance is changing a CO. Both plop and hall have performed poor enough at times to warrant consideration. Imo while plop tends to out-think himself too often, he is a fantastic teacher and excellent at coaching players. Not just the system. Hall used to adjust well in game but hasnt been doing that this year. And the overall team tackling is poor. See too many bad angles, arm tackles and whiffed hits. When one guy does it, its a player problem. When tons of players over extended time do it, especially ones who normally wouldnt, its a coaching problem. -
the secondary in general was good for much of the game. they are hamstrung by a dung system but even considering that did very well. If we didnt gift the riders the tds on our offense...
-
1 Alexander 2 woli/Petermann 3 Sayles with a bunch of good tackles and two big pass break ups. Hh Bryant for tracking down collars from behind down to the other side hash marks for a big tackle.
