  1. Great? no, solid-good for the most part? sure. yeah they had a hard match up, you dont become or perform "great" by beating up on bad opponents. You are great when you play great opponents and beat them. Yes nichols was doing a poor job of getting the ball out, but they had too many ole! blocks on the edge too. They gave up too many pressures, and didnt do a good enough job keeping DL engaged allowing them to attack passing lanes with their hands. Couple of times they made plays because they are great ends. But the OL was dropping the ball plenty too.
  2. Its not soo many lousy balls to catch, its his placement. The vast majority of the time you see a pass deeper then 10 yards (and of late any pass) you see our WRs having to stretch out to their furthest extent just to touch the ball. If a wr jumps up or lays out as far as they can, and extends their arms fully and the ball grazes their fingers It is NOT a drop. A pass is supposed to hit a wr in the hands with their arms bent right in front of them. It should leave them able to catch and run without breaking stride. That is an accurate pass. When you have to reach behind you, layout or jump up in a prone position it was not a good/accurate pass. Especially in an offense like ours, which expects wrs to catch a pass before first down yardage is gained then pick it up with their feet, you HAVE to hit wrs on time in stride. When you dont you freeze their feet and momentum and force them to shuck and jive to try and pick up yardage rather than run it out.
  3. Even with out dressler it just isnt the case. Adams, and thompkins are insanely talented. Washington is still too soon to quantify, but if he is any thing its a deep threat. Thompkins was a legit nfl starter, and has shown great in his use here thus far. We dont have much design around him yet, but he catches every thing he should. Darvin adams is playing at an elite level. Put him in any well run offense and he would be top couple in the league in every catagory. Dressler has similar health issues as allways, but has shown he is still the guy who can stretch the D, as well as catch a 4 yard pass on second and 10 and make a first down. The problem hasnt been wrs getting open deep. If any thing we've seen tons of chances to hook up deep, but missed with passes and protection. If we cut thompkins, dressler, or adams they would immediately be picked up and start for another team. Thompkins and adams would start on any team in the league. Dressler would start on most of them, save one or two. How many teams would nichols start on right now? The Ol hasnt been great the last few weeks. (pass pro) weve seen a ton of pressure on nichols compared to the past when we saw him touched once a game or less and seldom sacked. Nichols has not dealt with or picked up the pressure well at all either. The offense has not adapted well to how teams have been able to pressure us. Ol missing hardrick and bond, then the play of nichols, then the lack of adjustments by plop. Wr talent is soo far down the list for why our offense is struggling its not even funny.
  4. 1 Harris. Monster runs, carried our offense. 2 Alexander. Pick big hit fighting possession well. 3 Bighill, monster fighting short yardage plays Hh Gauthier with a big kick coverage hit after shedding a block
  5. he isnt going to be hardrick 2.0 instantly no. this. with a healthy hardrick he would also supplant neufeld instantly.
  6. Streveler and bennett are un real athletes for qbs. Both would be good to very good athletes at WR. Streveler as a mobile passer is a pretty rare thing. Focused on limiting turn overs, smooth going run to pass and back. Doesnt get too caught up in one success. Takes what the defense gives him. The kid is special and has a very bright future in football.
  7. Yes. This is the kind of guy you break the bank for. Drop a imp DE, drop wild, lots of places to save money. Flip loffler to another team, slide mo to S, play fenner at sam start gray. Does he start right away? I mean with hardrick out and the OL struggling last week its a good time to slip him in. Idk if we do though. I could see our management easing him in over a few weeks.
  8. Isnt it also for the weeks of TC/mini camp? But yeah not a full year. You also have bonuses for play offs superbowls etc.
  9. Just went up for this year or last year iirc. I could see him coming in and getting 100k ish as a guy who can start right now (faith was getting 88k ish) But yeah US dollar, im not sure how they tax earnings but it could end up lower, and also a chance at getting the active roster money or the pension after a while. The nfl pension is nothing to sneeze at.
  10. 7600$ Us a week minimum
  11. Most every one will say stick it out a year. Wylie is a great OL coach to learn under. No doubt he can improve a lot from a year of scout team / pr and working with wylie in the nfl.
  12. I dont think we will can hall. But the incumbent would be james stanley.
  13. We dipped our toes into it a little bit more this week, and it worked well. Streveler is a strong change of pace to nichols. It can work. But its hard to manage and very risky. Should we do it more? yeah. Will we? probably not.
  14. An old coaching joke with some application here. One day an old head coach of a football team is fired. His assistant is hired as the new head coach. Before the old head coach leaves he give the new coach three envelopes And says, "When youre in trouble open a letter and follow the instructions". Early the next year the team hasnt improved and the new coach opens a letter. It says, "Blame the fans". So he holds a press conference and talks about how they have no home field advantage. How his teams is demoralized by poor support from the fans. Things improve for a while but eventually taper back down. Late that year the blame is coming back around to him again. So he opens another letter. It says, "Blame the talent." So he holds another press conference and says they need more talent. The calling for his job once again subsides a little. Midway through the next year he is under the greatest pressure of his career. Everyone is turning on him and his team just doesnt perform. So he opens the final letter it says "Prepare 3 letters". In as little as a week nichols has gone from steady leader to having been booed by the fans, complained about the fans, and now this. I feel like play off nichols, the nichols of the win streaks would have shouldered more of the burden then is fairly his. I didnt listen to the post game so i didnt hear the interview. I doubt he threw his guys under the bus. But every thing is trending in the wrong direction for nichols and this offense right now.
  15. 7 total carries for the game for harris
  16. 7 carries 13 yards. Wish we'd see more creative run plays for Harris. Some pitch some shovel etc for when we struggle like this.
  17. I saw Bryant in on a play but didn't know poop was scratched. Had to watch away from home, I'll have to re watch the game later. Was Bryant playing most of the game or Thomas? On that note though I'd say hardrick needs some retroactive stars. Foketi didn't have a good game nor did the line with out him. Also a tip of the hat to bennett for another team's tackle.
  18. We hardly ran a lot of the second and long s were after missed passes. Both guys had awful games. The call to fake the short yardage keeper and pass was the only great call for plop.
  19. Nope. Still nope. Another offensive out put like this may signal the end of Nichols time here though. Plops seat should be hot and halls should be empty but they won't be.
  20. The first one was a horrible throw he made a great effort to make it close. Not a drop at all. The third was also way behind and to the wrong shoulder into the defense.
  21. Truth to that. Once you pull Nichols while he is healthy don't expect to see the best of Nichols here again.
  22. The ol played alot worse today then normal. The value bond and hardrick brought previously is being quantified. get well soon hardrick.
  23. Agree with that. Again the offense adjusted to our defense mid game and we never re adjusted or progressed.
  24. Tyson wasn't a head case problem when he was with cus though. That was an evolution of success losing cus and Don King. But I agree with the point. The right coach might be able to fix Carter.
  25. Except we have wins only against bottom feeder teams. That's not more wins that's all of them.
