  1. 1 the interior dl. Nevis and poop played great. Two stuffs on less then a yard. 2 mo great break up some big tackles. 3 wolitarsky catching every thing near him. Hh Sayles for a couple big hits Three thumbs down to lofflers awful pursuit angle on the deep ball that broke our back. The ol play with out hardrick. And Nichols play as a whole.
  2. 2 against the argos, 1 against hamilton and lost to bc before that. All our wins are against montreal, toronto, bc and 1 against hamilton. Our best win is against the second best team in the east. Combined record of the teams weve beaten this year 14-23. 4 teams that beat us 23-22 (ham twice). We dont need to get back to how we were playing then, we need to get to playing good consistent football in general.
  3. Offense is under performing. defense is under performing. play call is lack luster. qb play too. many facets causing the poorer play. just like how it takes many facets of a team to win a game. they all better be atleast some what better against calgary tomorrow.
  4. is work ethic really the problem with him? I wouldnt suspect so. I would think its selfishness. Which also wouldnt fly. If he had his head on right he could be in the nfl easily. instead he is a mid season free agent in the cfl.
  5. Yep, he is often the guy who breaks off short when pressure comes while adams stretches the defense deep frequently. That said harris is also usually a main pressure release valve, but teams are game planning for him to catch the ball out of the back field more these days.
  6. wasnt crandell 8-10 as the starter for calgary in 2001? Whats Tim tebows record in the nfl? We should re sign dieter brock. He has waaay more wins then any qb we have on the roster.
  7. didnt they just get rice in the tigernaughts deal for johnny foozeball?
  8. Us? against calgary? heck throw them bryan bennett and prepare for the riders. Yeah cant do that i know.
  9. Id love to see a return to the hurry up with streveler for a play or two after a short yardage sneak. Or as a package if the offense is stagnant.
  10. its hard to tell which guys can get more from practicing then others. but without a doubt, you quickly reach a diminishing point where you need to play to improve. I can see simonise being a guy who benefits from a slower route to regular action. But I think petermann is pretty ready. I mean he would have been an instant starter for us for at least the previous 10 years.
  11. weve seen worse vet qbs win greycups then rookie streveler. I strongly believe it has a diminishing returns effect on the locker room. A change of pace would really go a long ways, but I dont see that happening any time soon. And I do like that we stick to our guns on quality people as well as players. I was pretty iffy on it for a long time. But im glad we are free of the likes of dbag carter.
  12. it would open his money up after 6 games on the IR. But we have 9 games left in the year. So we could save 6 games salary (last week plus 5 more) then be on the hook for the last 4 weeks. I believe thats how it works any way. Would not cut him my self.
  13. They do. The problem is when you execute the defensive scheme to perfection, but that still gives up the first down a lot of times. Or you execute on offense but the defense has a better play call, or a personnel miss match etc. Its not a one dimensional problem we have, but it starts with the coaching and trickles down. every one has a slice of the blame pie. Thats true. the trouble with them is flipping the switch between running and throwing. You can have a perfect play call for a deep ball, guy gets open but due to early pressure the qb runs rather then stepping up. The best running qbs in history have this problem early on. And often when they slow down with age, develop that ability to switch between smoothly and idealy.
  14. If a guy is airlifted it can be interesting to see who they target. Often what you see if a no2 or no3 qb take over is that the best wr who gets regular reps with him on team 2 becomes a go to guy. Chemistry is a tough thing in football. Sometimes its easy to look at a play and say, oh no cohesion in that unit on that one. But that can happen with veteran groups. Its a bigger thing for the lines imo. With qbs chemistry will shine brightest when the play breaks down and they scramble. They know who will come back to the ball and when. That said, no one ever had trouble building chemistry with milt on the field. Its a bit overrated with qbs and wrs imo. Its the difference between who you toss up 50/50 balls to when desperate, and when the play breaks down. but in those cases, you generally just want to go to the best target anyway.
  15. ya, we saw a lot longer in the tooth vets age out and still start with Ritchie. Love him as a coach. But we all knew it.
  16. Imo, ritchie was the ultimate players coach. us against the world. I have no doubt towards the love he had for his guys. Not every one was his guy, but a lot of the long term vets were. No doubt he cut guys he liked eventually after they passed their prime. But cutting guys isnt the easiest thing for any coach. Even if you dont like a guy as a person or as a player it tends to stick with you after.
  17. They both have been, and its cyclical. You go 2 and out none stop, more then half your drives consist of 5 plays or less including a punt and you lose field position your defense stays on the field longer your offense plays from worse field position gets discouraged by the score etc. 2 and outs, and the offense going MIA for extended periods has been a problem for a long while. The defense playing soft af in coverage and constantly letting the other team drive the field through the air has been a problem for a long while.
  18. lies and slander. i can hear the tears on social media right now.
  19. Durant not showing was pure serendipity. Streveler wasnt likely to fall through the cracks, he had NFL camp invites but came here because we offered him a contract. The guys raw tools are off the charts. Led an offense with zero turn overs for a year and change. A guy like him would have bounced around TCs and PRs for a couple years before falling back down to the cfl then possibly through the cracks. If we had durant, and nichols, streveler wouldnt have fallen out. Our franchise wastes no time in spitting out QBs who dont have what we look for. So a guy WITH the tools we want is gonna stick.
  20. Some guys have instant chemistry. Other times, you have a guy like darvin who is hands down our best deep threat. Which naturally creates chemistry. Wolitarsky and streveler had it for sure. Wolitarsky has shown he can play. Our offense has to do a better job of getting him involved. Especially with dressler out. You can have previous experience and no chemistry after. Weve seen that with nichols and the ex mo wr we brought in last year.
  21. It wasnt 5 years of rebuilding. THIS is his 5th year. We won 23 games the previous two years. Weve improved our divisional seeding every single year. Yup we havent won a play off game. Things need to improve. Thats not optimism for me, that is just how i think it will play out based on our management style. I agree. Id take All three young NI wrs over stankford any day. Returning or playing WR. I dont like how wolitarsky sees soo little useage with out streveler, and same goes for the other two.
  22. lol. Yeah good ole stankford. Also, plop didnt do a good job of re balancing the offense to take pressure off when nichols has struggled. The whole staff should have been smarter as well and kept nichols out when he got banged up. Like come on that is high school level coaching.
  23. It hasnt been 6 years of futility. We saw consistent increases in performance. From cellar dweller to home play off game and expected grey cup contender. We went from an offense that relied on medlock kicking a record number of FGs to win games to an offense that can roll average 30 points and roll 50+ at any time. We went from no pressure on the QB to one of the better teams at getting to the qb. so on and so forth.
  24. The knee is more worrisome to me. Legs are where you generate all your power. You dont need to be able to run like streveler in the cfl, but you do need to be able to buy time and throw on the roll. Any thing in the throwing chain foot to hand is bad for a throwing sport. Multiple in the chain is really really bad.
  25. Nichols, no doubt. Nicked up and rusty from the shut down right after TC. BLM, I think the luster is just finally coming off the long time reigning regular season champs.
