  1. No doubt. This is why you dont give up on a guy like franklin soo fast. If you are gonna develop a rookie qb, give him most of the year if not all of it. If they are tossing 4 picks a game sure pull em. But you gotta stick with a guy to develop them. Now if they go back to franklin the team around him is going to be deflated. Never say never. But it should be. Mega dink. Cant stand that guy. he is what is largely wrong with the next gen big rbs, the tool set to run with power quickly but runs like he is small and just pushes through small guys now and then. He should be able to run through most lbers in the league with ease. The guy has less time at QB since HS then darvin adams has this year... ok not that bad but still pretty bad. This is why its soo important to get young guys with 2, 3 years or more as a starter in college. Even with amazing tool sets with out experience you cant execute.
  2. idk i hate mid week football. thurs at 9pm start time? bleh.
  3. Poor play off performance the last couple years are keeping it down a bit. That and the early season injury to nichols. Other wise Im sure we'd a had another 1-2k which is a very good range to be in. Moose and goldeyes give away a LOT of free tickets. The jets play a lot more home games and hockey up here isnt comparable to any thing else up here. We are in a good spot and it is only improving. It looks worse on tv then it is in reality too, because we have a couple thousand people at the rum hut at all times.
  4. A small part. Loffler is the type of guy who sells out for big hits. And he has had a lot of whiffs this year, with very few game altering hits. I was at last weeks game and paid most of my attention while we were on D to loffler. What i saw was him seemingly to be slow in decisions and first step. Previously He came up and played a very shallow S position. he made most of our Mlber range tackles while hurl was pushed around by linemen. This year, bighill and jsk are covering more of the middle deep range that loffler covered in the past. When his decision is clear on who to take he does ok. When it isnt, when qbs look him off, when he faces double moves he is struggling. He made some un needed blind side turns rather then speed turning in the direction of the play, etc. What we seem to be doing more of especially in that game, is sending mo deep. On the plays where mo was the deepest man, or we had 2 deep / quarters loffler did a lot better. His best play has come when he is coming up and making plays on ball carriers / pass attempts. Running down hill and laying the wood. Last year we saw more and more teams exploit the lack of deep help. Loffler is best in the box, or at the back end of the box, and under neath on a robber level. Still a good player, if some what limited he just doesnt fit too well right now. We will have to wait and see if he can adapt in his new role or if we can make it easier more with the deeper help from some one else. He isnt hurl bad on the back end by any means.
  5. Big-knox-mo is a sick lbing core. I dont know if ive seen a better unit. What bighill has opened up for JSK is incredible.
  6. The need to be air lifting in DBs, and not the old decrepit type.
  7. We hammered away with picks for a while and finally drafted really well at wr. Mhm. Very limited action. But when they give those guys chances, they show some thing. A far cry from the past. What really pops for me is the completion percentage jump for the NIs, especially wolitarsky. We gotta get more touches for that guy.
  8. I could see doing it only if you played vice on duke and left duron over the top to re act to the ball in flight. other wise duke is gonna run away with the league lead.
  9. i wanna say 2 more years but i dont recall. sask is a great destination for high value FAs to get a huge signing bonus before joining a good team.
  10. I was poking around the stats and found some thing interesting. We all know harris is a huge part of our passing attack and offense in general. What really surprised me was the production totals of our NI pass catchers vs the imps. Now its a bit skewed with bowman up to last week but even then, we have hardly used petermann and simonise who have both shown some exceptional flashes. Petermann with some tough as nails blocking and tremendous speed on the reverse and simonise burning the pants off one of the best dbs in the league a few weeks back. For simplicity im ignoring the one catch by each of the none pass catching positions. Adams, dressler, bowman, thompkins 60 catches on 115 passing attempts 52.1% 820 yards 7.13 YPA 4 tds demski, harris, wolitarsky, petermann, lafrance, and simonise. (the last three each have 2 catches) 71 catches on 93 passing attempts 76.3% 764 yards 8.21 YPA 8 tds. When you factor in rushing yards, the canadians are the biggest producers on offense for us. When is the last time that happened? There has been a bit of talk in other threads about our WR core vs other teams. The depth and quality of our canadian play makers is heavily under rated league wide. We have some serious skill and talent in the NI dept on offense. For all of last year our totals were; 165 catches , 212 passing attempts 77.8% 1490 yards 7.02 YPA 4 tds. Our NIs this year would be on track for 2292 yards and 24 tds.
  11. Manziel, MBT getting the start over franklin in TO, and what is likely (imo) going to be a loss for the riders vs edm. It should be a very interesting week in the cfl indeed. I think manziel shows flashes but loses. I see the moes edging out the riders in a close one. And MBT being pulled after the first half.
  12. If the RBs should fall flat and if my memory is correct and harris is a FA at seasons end I could see them looking to the future with franklin and the argos trying to hold on and push for another deep run with harris on a rental. The east is soo soft and open Idk if that happens before the trade deadline. Itd basically require mtl to turn it around with manziel in a big way.
  13. Yeah he is. We know he will turn on a big FA pick up in zero time flat if they dont perform. I think collaros gets one more game if he doesnt play out of his mind its over. It could be as few as 2 weeks for them to be past him, but more likely it wont be till they play calgary as their schedule gets real soft right now.
  14. No i cant see us moving nichols this year under any real circumstance, or any way toronto would get him. Im just noting that I think he would be the best fit with trestman in the league. More then reilly even, comparable to BLM. I think the realistic guys are jennings, and collaros mid season and maybe harris off season.
  15. yep time to ship bridge, a pick and DB Duron Carter to the argos. Idk if any coach in the league has more leverage on his team then trestman. DD as much, but I dont think any one else even has that. Its gonna be really interesting to see what our old boy MBT does, but to be honest my expectations are low. I feel like he is the tony ortiz, TC/mini camp / pre season guy who flashes all the brilliance but lacks the experience to be able to do it in real fire situations with any consistency. I dont think bridge is the trestman type of guy, but I think in any trade of franklin trestman and the Gos get a QB back. I want to say harris will be a FA at the end of this year, and collaros could easily be on the trade block. Perhaps the argos go after either of them. I could see them trying for jonathon jennings as well. I think they guy he would want the most and who fits his system the most out side of MR and BLM, is nichols.
  16. We have always seemed to come out a bit flat after bye weeks under this regime. I dont think that will be the case this time with added leadership and the upstanding defensive personnel. Would love to see fenner come back after the bye week. I hope we keep MO at sam. Move fenner to half. So fenner, and alexander start at half. Randle n fogg at corner. Then Id DI one of cooper and sayles. For my money cooper is more steady and sayles makes more big playes. Id roll with the hot hand and let them fight each week for that DI spot. Id probably lean towards sayles in the spot right now. Another option would be to adjust the ratio to start a nuck else where (wr/dl), put mo back at S (he had a whole bunch of plays where he was the deepest man against toronto with loffler under him) keep feener at sam and play both sayles and cooper as starters. Wouldnt be easy, especially if corney is still out and with how thompkins played. Then loffler would rotate in at Lber.
  17. Saw a lot of times they had no deep man to help. At the game, after the late hit he was holding it and stretching it for a good while. That said it didnt seem to affect his throwing.
  18. The bombers shut wilder down the previous week. The argos adjusted to what we did and took advantage. Trestman is a good coach. And its bloody hard to win back to backs because of this. Teams adjust, do you adjust out of some thing successful to some thing low use and risk out thinking your self? No doubt his offense is centered around a specific tool set. Also remember this offense was built around expecting ricky ray to be the starter. It takes time to make adjustments and fine tune it for some one else, especially with a different tool set. Franklin is still a good prospective qb1. He just isnt instant jesus. Streveler has moved the bar higher and franklin just isnt ready for it just yet. Offensive diversity is the name of our game this year. We have soo many guys we can lean on, weave in and feature you cant cheat too much to one guy or one aspect.
  19. he did, and he did a better job getting rid of it the few times they got through. They sure countered our run blocking though. It seemed like harris was contacted in the back field on nearly every carry.
  20. Thompkins looked great. Seems to have instant chemistry with nichols too. I was hoping to see more petermann mixed in but if thompkins keeps it up he is gonna be tough to take off the field.
  21. Thompkins looks like a great find. Hope he keeps it up.
  22. All good questions. He seems to lack all urgency in the pocket. So nonchalant taking the ball and holding it, throwing away in some bad spots. Yeah the location of our trick play calls is baffling some times. Miller indeed had another great game. Ogopogo was getting held on every other play. It was driving me mad. Jeffcoat also with a ton of pressure again tnite.
  23. 1 Big-knox. The combo was on fire tonight, but JSK was beasting like never before. 10 tackles 3 sacks. 2 Brandon alexander, A pic and a forced fumble, plus some great, great coverage tonight. 3 Demski, 5 catches 82 yards 1 td + our leading rusher 3 for 34 and another score. HH The reverse on the opening return by petermann. Guy has some jets.
  24. The Ol has been beasting. The amount of run plays called this year is helping them do it as well. Those guys are loving life on the grid iron this year.
