When does the bowman experiment end? (Bowman traded to Montreal)
wbbfan replied to wbbfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Id do that in a heart beat. Id be down to kick in a bit to get williams or BJ. -
1 Harris. This might be the best stretch of his career. 2 mo. His best game since coming back huge difference maker in coverage. 3 the dl. Both lines played amazing. But the dl killed it in pressure and run stopping. Hh goes to Bryan Bennett for his hit on teams. Not every day a qb lays some one out.

Didnt watch, did any one see how herdman did?

well over all but its really been feast or famine.

We have fixed the positional issues on D. We are at a point where chemistry is less and less of an issue (JSK and bighill fed off each other and worked great together from jumpstreet) At this point the only place to point the finger is hall. The D flashes brilliance. But time and time again we see the prevent allow teams to get back into games.

When does the bowman experiment end? (Bowman traded to Montreal)
wbbfan replied to wbbfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I dont think he is one of the early options in many plays at all. I think he is used to run off the defender. I feel like we read short to long. Rather then looking for the deep ball then checking down. Unless a team shows no deep cover or no help on adams or dressler etc. -
eh he has been in trouble with them a few times and in part I feel like citi got him to dig them out of a whole with out the desire to have him or the nature of his shtick. Not personally a fan of his. This. Every week i hear about an athlete who has had some idiotic teen age era social media stuff dug up and is being buried. The opinions he has on the subject isnt some thing that can be discussed openly in media of any sort today. Not saying it should or that i agree with him, but if you hold such a polarizing opinion on such a volatile topic be it a stupid opinion or not you need to be smart enough not to talk about it. As an aside, I hope this one way or another leads to an end of the stale mate that exists in the 90s frequency of radio in manitoba. Its all soo bland and similar its just awful.

hes never been good at catching the ball in general to be fair. You can run him on a crosser over the middle and have some one like woli or adams fade. -

ive never heard that doesnt make sense. Hes the ideal type of guy to toss iso fades to in the red zone. 43% hook up route on attempts to him is pretty dismal though. -
Battle of Underperformers: Blue vs Double Blue in Doubleheader
wbbfan replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
it was clearly the call from the line shift and instantly pulling, especially since we had been running it soo much. His play and actions havent been greedy at all thus far so thats a pretty far leap imo. -
I feel like he is the least consistent CO in the league. He will have a brilliant half or game and follow it up by forgetting about harris for an extended period, or a chain of trick plays in a poor position, and ive never liked his red zone play calls. And he never makes good use of DIs. That said as a coach I think he is very good. And he does improve each year. Personally im not married to any of our ast coaches. If we had the option of hiring some one better id jump at it. I dont think we will just stumble into a guy that can replace plop though. Not like hall.

plop has always had a tendency to out smart him self. We should run a lot more play action. And he has to be smarter with his selection of when he gets tricky. Calling qb off tackle out side of field goal range is a great idea rather then up the gut. Inside the 2 its not. -

No you do it to keep their rights... You can revoke them from the list at no cost before that if they are ready. if they dont end up being ready it saves you a bit of cap space. As far as i know injured players can go to meetings still... -

well if a guy isnt going to play for more then a week you may as well 6 game him. Have a chance to save that money from the cap. Plus we always see every kind of silliness with the IR and info about players injuries. Hes week to week we will re evaluate him next week should be back soon x6 then done for the season etc. -
The bombers had the penalties in the second half that kept drives alive for bc though, far more then normal and far more then bc. But which team had them at the end of the game? On the play by play recap bc had no penalties in the second half. In the second half we had 2 drives longer then 4 plays. Bc had 6 drives longer then 4 plays and one less. 26 offensive plays to 43. Of the last 26 plays, we had 5 plays. 1 punt, 1 pick 1 sack, 2 in completions. How about the td play to tie the game? Jsk and sayles both go in with arms and have the wr push through their arms and score the td. 5.15 of the high lights, play it in slow mo then watch ogopogo hunched over and big hill with his hands on his hips. A lot of things factored into our loss. I have no doubt fatigue was part of it. When your defense is on the field for that much of the second half you dont win many games.

Calgary, edm for the top end wrs bc sask and mtl are in similar boats under that. Its a pick em imo. All three wr cores have suffered at the hands of sub par qbing. Id edge bc to the bottom of that stack. Personally, bj Cunningham ernest jackson and chris williams are guys you win with today. Carter, holley and naaman are guys who probably have their best seasons a head of them. Id take darvin adams and dressler this year over two of the top three guys from mtl and sask. The third man is what puts us out of that tier. But our ni depth is what puts us at the top of the third tier of talent. Hammer is right there too. But I think their system inflates the stats and the talent of that core isnt as great as it seems. I wouldnt argue with any one who puts hamilton above us though. willy has been announced as starter again. I guess that means he is healthy ish. I wouldnt throw adams to the wolves behind that OL. Adams with those Wrs and the talent on D could really turn them around. If they had an OL. And if adams pans out.

I think flanders is legit injured. I also think when lafrance is healthy we are better off using a DI else where. Thompkins is the first wr id give a crack. then washington (corey not the now gone ldamian.) then failing those and if finally healthy then flanders. Can you imagine the offensive threat posed by nubrady, harris and either flanders or lafrance all at once? -
Before he could succeed at wil he would have to focus on wraping up and tackling properly. he has been able to out muscle much smaller wrs with hits, but the bigger guys hed face in the box would demand better form.

The only issue with that is it leaves us thin at back up ni wr. (we need you matt coates) hense grant. -
lil suburb of mtl. sacre bleu i surrender to the poutine.

Laval would be too close to montreal to have a franchise imo. I dont know what infrastructure QC has, but seeing some of the venues run out in the last year or two It cant be that bad can it lol.
-
it is, but if one team is on the field more, and is being run on and thrown deep on weather factors scale multiplicatively. Penalties total, but not penalties on D/o extending the game. Im not and didnt. I said its a possibility. especially late in the game. Blown coverage, wrong routes tons of errors that are mental can come from different sources. We run the most, but with the least consistency. We will stop for quarters and even halves at a time. The point is, a lot of factors come in to play when it comes to fatigue. Not just top.
-
personally i dont want to see expansion until we have each franchise stable and healthy. I also dont think we should ever go that deep in teams. But than I also think QC is a better city for a team then halifax.
