  1. Yep just the one day of light practise so far. With this franchise day to day could be any where from one day to life.
  2. We might end up DIing mo for a while allowing him to ease back into game shape having missed all of tc and pre season. (soo much for him being fully recovered in january)
  3. 4 and 5 is best imo. With bighill coveraging soo much space in the middle and loffler back deep, we could send the wil, or drop JSK and send bighill. Both would be much more affective then what weve seen in the past few years from blitz packages. I dont think we want to send more then that often though.
  4. I feel like ross would be a move not to lose, and streveler is a move to win. Reilly I think nails it. better foot speed and a quicker release.
  5. perhaps like having the old GD thread with and one with out gifs we could have an active open thread and specific ones. In the recent past every thing has just been mashed around and merged with discussions broken or killed.
  6. We saw a bit of that option and qb run stuff late last year. I think we will see a good dose of it till nichols is back. He did it pretty well in college too. A big difference maker is going to be his strength. Like bennett he isnt just a fast guy. He is strong enough to fight off arm tackles, sams and other dbs.
  7. pretty much. Though I would say the newer standard is to mix all out blitzes, show and drops, and zone blitz schemes to rattle and confuse them. With out the vet dbs in place, a lot of complicated zone blitz schemes arent soo likely.
  8. Indeed. We have the right weapons, he has the over all athleticism and quick release to pull it off too. If we chip block well on an end like petermann did against bc, we can give him a side to roll to as well.
  9. If im edm, Im playing a lot of cover0 until he proves he can beat the blitz.
  10. probably right. but its still some thing. Is mcduffie still kicking around? id take him over lankford in a heart beat.
  11. he certainly will to start. but as a db we've basically seen a half year of crazy turn overs from him and so so coverage at best. Maybe he turns the corner this year thatd be great. but its an awful large corner to round.
  12. hucking and chucking deep balls is more likely to get 2 and outs but yeah we need to limit two and outs and turn overs to have success.
  13. if any thing this fan base is supportive and patient with its qbs....🤣
  14. I agree with that, Id worry more about a guy who doesnt wanna play. That said a bit more seasoning with medlock would probably have done him some good. Either way I think he is gonna be a good K/p in this league.
  15. He sure looks like it eh? That chip on his shoulder could push him to being the best player out of this draft. I hope he goes with a good number.
  16. All great news. Wild as a full time teams guy could be a big help, and if Mo can get back to his MOP form our D goes up to maybe the best in the league.
  17. that must be why cjob still has the exact same radio adds from back in 95. ab a l o n aaabbbaalooon. I think we will see some quick changes mid game. streveler with an option package. If we use him as our short yardage option too we could pull out some trick plays. I think we end up with an active 2qb system.
  18. I think he is burned out as a WR. But I think he could still have juice left just as a return man. As important as speed/quickness is (which diminishes with age and he has certainly lost a bit) The ability to read blocks, consistently get under and catch punts and use angles correctly is more important. Maybe he is too far gone even for for just returning kicks. But Id still take a look, if he was healthy and cheap. (I am biased, I was a fan of his since his hawaii days)
  19. I think you got it for now any way. I dont think lankford finishes the year here (think/hope.) And I could see flanders being replaced with all the threats we have on offense. We could use petermann and demski in the exact same role and free up a DI spot. Maybe wild when he is healthy, or fogg when MO is healthy. We might also end up moving an IMP de. I really think corney is ready to take a much bigger role on our D. We could use thomas and corney to rotate our DL and start another nuck AND free up a DI spot.
  20. I remember us passing on parker and being sad about it. I thought coehoorn would have been better as well. Sinopoli converted from qb yeah? The most successful wr drafted in a long while too. Still like JFG too. Blood n guts football player.
  21. damn kids get off my lawn! If he was healthy I wouldnt mind looking at chad owens to fill the gaps in our return game.
  22. That isnt gonna be pretty. I dont like collaros or the riders, but the thought of it is cringe worthy. ZC should be the most nervous man in canada right now.
  23. Cant blame the guy. Thanks for sharing. 7 years already for parker? feel like he was picked just a couple years ago.
  24. Yep, but that still doesnt help the returner spot. Imo morgan is a good player with plenty of up side. But the drop off from one of our imps in coverage and morgan is big. Jones is starter quality imo, but if we play him as a corner in nickle/dime situations we suddenly dont have a back up S any more. If he or loffler got hurt we'd lose that or be in even bigger ratio trouble.
  25. the PR doesnt help you in game. You may have noticed we cut branning and conteh. We will likely have 4 starters + the sam + loffler, +1 DI on the game roster. + morgan/jones. Meaning we will be spread too thin to have both return duties done by DBs. The exposure to injury, and all that extra running through out the game would leave one starter and our dime on weary legs late in games. And not too likely to play a full season. How many of those DBs are returners? I dont recall any returning kicks or punts in the pre season. Sayles doesnt come with a return pedigree. Priester also doesnt, but also doesnt really have the return man athletic tool set. Cooper has the tool set but not the experience. Both are more kick cover guys then return guys. Kenbrell thompkins returned 4 kick offs in the nfl for 15 yard average. Basically as an up man on a short kick.
