  1. Im hoping the jays get back into the wildcard spot too. Though bluejay play off baseball is bad for the CFL tv ratings. But with the NBA about to begin its pre season and NHL the same, its gonna get rough any way soon. Yep. Trying to make a story. Ward is 29 and might age out of the NFL window. His first year was insane and he was still here in 19 and now. It may not make sense for the RBs to sell off a vet that will be around for a while, especially when they dont have a young/cheap replacement. I dont see them getting an impact guy this year. Yeah. Defending champs seldom get free spots on the bingo card though. Id rather our guys stay angry then have a soft game. The positioning of the byes looks like it will work out to be very advantageous for us this year atleast.
  2. Hmm Id really like to get a look at Agudosi, so he probably gets cut, same with demerio houston. I would say that one of the 2 imp OL on the PR would be a likely candidate to get cut. I dont see greg ducre on the roster, idk if he was cut or what. But we have 4 other imp dbs. Antigha could be on his way out. Vet salary is more than rookie salary and he hasnt been a contributor. Devonte williams the rb with some return experience would be a prime candidate. Maybe Naaman too. Again hes a vet who doesnt seem to have a path to the active roster. Idk if our PR still expands for NFL cuts this year or not. If not, the usual advanced look guys for the next year might prompt more than a couple guys to be cut. Or come down "injured". Can you go from PR to 6 game IR? I assume so.
  3. Yeah the reports have kind of been a nothing burger any way tbh. The league doesnt seem to be taking them or the depth charts seriously. Im guessing if all 3 come back that stove would come in for walker and start instead of sayles. Nelson goes out for grant. And kyrie I would think comes in for brown. Itd be really nice to have kyrie and rocq on the roster at the same time. Id also love to see the briggs/gauthier rotation on defense become a seldom used set. I feel like they have had him practice as sparingly as possible since hes come back. He doesnt need the reps.I hope thats all it is.
  4. Another mid week game and another 930 start time game. Would who ever shot the sheriff please proceed to the schedule maker.
  5. No grant on the report?
  6. Hell yeah. First day back at practice after a buy and the boys are already gettin nasty. Plus getting healthy? I bet Mos is tickled pink right now.
  7. Id take a long hard look at an OL as the MOC. Like desjarlais.
  8. Is it bad that I dont really want to see josh johnson draw back into the line up right now? I mean as a DI back up sure but as a starter? hard pass.
  9. AKA Stove the flex seal. AKA centres worst nightmare.
  10. The only thing Ive seen have that kind of effect and quick is cortisone. Could be, milt used to give guys the stanky leg then when they werent looking book it for the end zone. yesssssss! Man if we got all 3 back, that'd be huuuuuge.
  11. How many mid season threads do we need?
  12. 46 posts in 3 ish years. 1/4 of his posts have been this weekend in this thread. mia 2 weeks then back with a similar flurry over 2 days. Almost all his posts are in our GDTs and its talking about the riders. I certainly wouldnt say thats a consistent presence. If any thing id say you got him and foxcreek swapped. Hes been consistent, respectful to the champs and mostly pleasant for a 4 stripe.
  13. You might be right im not sure now. Looks like it was both, he had an MRI done on his shoulder and elbow.
  14. Reilly used to be a serious running threat. People forget how effective he was as a runner early on. His two biggest rushing games, around 100 yards each came against us. He isnt the guy who is gonna run for 600 or 700 yards in a season any more. But he still has mobility. If he tried to run like that against us Itd be a quick end to his night. He is tough to bring down, and he will look to throw first. But in the last 2.5 seasons hes been sacked a whole lot more then in the majority of his career. 100%. And his shoulder is no way tip top either. From what ive seen this year he is trying to protect it more than normal. He used to have that buck pierce mentality. But now he's 36 and banged up, getting cortisone before every game.
  15. How come we only see you here after rider wins you were real mia after ldc and bjb. And in the discussion about ac Leonard. We had some interesting talk about dirty and hated players league wide that could've used input from other teams. Through half of the season with more games played than any one we handled the whole league and the riders in the home and home. So yeah reason for high optimism for the defending Champs. Give em the respect they've earned have at least a little class.
  16. I think you are confusing the attitude on this board with the attitude on the riders board every single year. Being an unstoppable juggernaut means some thing when you are the defending champion. Nothing guarantees success. But every week we focus on going 1 and 0. And nothing changes that.
  17. He will be back to the ir when they face us again
  18. If you aren't first your last. In 2019 the Bombers were the best team and injuries derailed things. Then we got healthy just in time. The riders at their best are handily behind the current banged up Bombers.
  19. 3 games this week. 1 was on weds and one starts at 930. Schedule maker is making our kickers this year look like medlock. Holy F$#K cfl get it together. I especially loved this area in the documentary "The Hills Have Eyes" had some great local actors too.
  20. Not wrong, but I actually though the riders were gonna bounce back last week. The turn over in Tor, the lack of consistent qbing, and the riders getting smashed in the 2 biggest regular season games back to back. It was a perfect set up for them to bounce back at home. I think the riders will battle the stamps with maier at qb for 3rd place. I montreal will still enjoy a weak back half schedule and ride that to a home play off game. I dont think we see a cross over team, instead we see tor mtl and ham in the play offs.
  21. Not to mention the week 1 reilly / qb debacle. If they had the Reilly playing that whole game they win that game. The rookie threw a bad pick 6 iirc. Even though reilly wasnt playing that great in week 1 he was still that much better. I think the biggest thing thats gonna hurt the lions against us is their trenches. That DL is green as hell. Their front 7 in general is not great. And they have no running game. Theyve given up some big sack games too. I like how they match up vs the riders, but I also like how we match up against them.
  22. Yep. And IIRC he's missed 6 weeks on the 6 game IR so hopefully the bombers/media gets us an update this week at TC if he isnt back. Yeah carrying a DI who doesnt do all the roles at a high level is a tough pill to swallow. Though realistically, the DI would be another DL/LBers for teams and rotation on the DL. Pretty much.
  23. agree 100%. Legs should just need time to settle in. Kicking is crazy hard mentally. Instead of 40-60 snaps on offense / defense you get maybe 10 kicks a game including kick offs and XPTs. The wind in the BJB really seemed to mess with both kickers. At the game it didnt feel like it was a 1 direction thing either, it was frequently gusting and swirling. I worry a bit that all 3 jobs might be too much for him to pick up at once, but maybe the frequent reps at many jobs help to calm him down and recover from misses. I cant say. I think he needs some coaching up in terms of kick offs and directional punting. But that might be some thing he gets in the off season. A lot of kickers and punters work with other guys in their areas in the off season and thats a really big time when kickers sharpen their tools. We are also extremely lucky that unlike previous years we dont need our kicking game to be lights out in order to compete. Right now our offense is productive and our defense is soo dominant the STs are really complimentary. I do hope we see some improvement this year though. It wouldnt be bad if they could pick up a Kicker/punter coach to come in and train legs up. Boudreau is more of a kick cover, and kicking game plan coach. Its like having an OC that isnt a QB coach and wasnt a QB, with a young qb, and no QB coach.
  24. Agree. The riders have trouble cashing in TDs, and the lions D has been 2nd best at giving up points. The lions by contrast are a strong scoring offense and the riders D is not stout especially in the secondary. I think this game is where we see the second divide form in the west. With the lions firmly in 2nd place.
  25. Of course. Adaptability is plops greatest weakness. If I was desjardin or above Id go to plop and if he didnt want to pivot to a developmental game plan Id can him. Have dyce or wylie take over as HC, and steve walsh (No relation to bill walsh) take over as OC.
