TSN introduces streaming service for CFL games.
wbbfan replied to Fatty Liver's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Wonder if next year they will have ALL the pre season games... price should be more in line or under netflix imo. -
weve seen a few day to day guys turn out to be out for very extended periods of time. never know.
-
A third pre season game and TC inter team scrimmages would be nice. You dont really know if a back up can play till hes been the starter for two years though.
-
That isnt even our no2 ol. Thats like 3rd string and a couple 2nd stringers. In the past mos has stuck too long with nichols in pre season and in blow outs. It seems that has changed.
-
At this point it doesnt even look like it has to be just harris. Flanders, agustin, lafrance when healthy demski can run the ball some. But lot of running is what the dr ordered.
-
I dont think itll be back to montreal. Edm has KG backing up too. I agree about streveler. I dont think they are in a panic at all.
-
Have to keep in mind barker and reed are the biggest dopes in cfl front office history. Both have been nothing but a comedy of errors. Id do one of our firsts next year for adams. Maybe condition pick if he starts or is on the roster next year they get more etc.
-
Yeah I dont think any one worth bringing in so far as vets will be cut. Maybe we trade for vernon adams though.
-
Better yet we can run some spread option stuff and have him dump off short passes to our play making import wrs. With our D, and a strong ball control offense with a heavy dose of harris and streveler running option stuff we can manufacture wins. Thats why Im not overly worried. We have the pieces to carry to team for now. Time to pound the rock. Inside zone read, out side zone read, shovel option, plops favorite jet sweep.
-
This was my thought at first as well, but looking at the roster for tomorrow I see team 2 and down starting in most every slot. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. The mere thought of us looking at durant again makes me wanna yack.
-
Sure, BUT its pro football. Every one who coaches and loves football that isnt working in football wants a job in football. I dont think he came out to be the highest paid assistant or OC in the league. Doesnt make sense to me. I dont doubt he was iirc he was given an ast hc title.
-
I dont. I also dont particularly worry about a deal with the riders. If I was on either side i would not do such a deal. If I was the riders I wouldnt deal bridge in fact id rather go get vernon adams too. 3 deep at qb, a guy to push bridge and back him up eventually. And block us from getting vernon adams. I would not trade a QB or kicker with in the division to a team with out one. A prospect sure. But not a legit 2 or higher qb or a good kicker. Too much direct impact on the out come of games and division seeding.
-
this wasnt put forth on here it came from rider fans on twitter... In the cfl trades are rare. They happen when they do. Remember when KG was first traded to wpg? When is the last time a league average back up qb was traded for two first round picks and two young starting canadian all stars?
-
Only way Id wanna give up a starter for bridge is if it was some one who is in a spot thats being pushed by another cheaper player any way. Actually a first and newf. 🤣
-
No joke. I would not give up either chung or goosen for every qb on the riders roster + every qbs neg list rights they might have. Whats the point in trading for a qb only to blow a hole in the OL? Young good starting NI OL is the highest commodity in the league. I like bridge. I would give up a second rounder next year, maaaybeee a first rounder with incentives. If I was gonna target a QB and spend a lot on getting them (basically if nichols was out for the year) I would go to toronto and get franklin. Or edm and get glenn. If I was gonna open up the veins Id go after manziel. I would not give up loffler, goosen, chung, or harris. If reily was under 30 with out a bunch of mileage on him, and if blm was the same and not a dbag then id consider giving up one of those guys.
-
you can over come it, just like dan marino. But its harder. You cant say robert horry is better then lebron because of rings. But it does count for some thing that he has soo many. 191 catches 2808 yards 14.7 average 68 long 11 tds over 9 seasons. http://www.justsportsstats.com/footballstatsindex.php?player_id=stoddjam001&recsort=5

They had the money for simon or gordon and went with gordon. Simon seemed like a flight risk to the nfl. Gordon played under milt really well the previous year. But it ended up gordon was a flight risk to the AFL. Cant say arland bruce solo blocked simon, when we had simon and aj3, and milt and gordon previously.
-
No instead you come on here, bash every thing but the green. very different.... No. The riders are not as good as any team in the league this year. your starting qb was replaced by masoli twice, who is pretty average. whats his record in the last 18 starts? The riders are average in the west. Better then bc. Toss up with edm. A bit behind a healthy wpg team, and we are all still looking up at the stamps and down on the east. During the regular season any way. The sooner bridge becomes starter the better chance the riders have to pass edm.
-
people werent exactly lining up at plops door remember. we pulled him out of the booth. I could see plop and mos wanting similar money on the next deals though.
-
Maybe he goes to the PR to start learning to play guard.
-
I dont doubt some team would give up some thing for him. Though not much. More then any one else he needs a monster performance in bc. Id like to see him start and give him a full quarter. Give him every chance to shine and do some thing. Ir and 2 man in active list we dont have to activate 4 ni wrs. But petermann and demski can play teams right away. Simonise has had some return experience. I cant see using a DI on a return man and carrying 4 ni wrs though. I also dont see all 4 staying healthy all year. Simonise hasnt played a lot of football in the last few years. Demski hasnt been able to stay healthy. Just the jump from cis schedule to cfl with tc and pre season is gonna be hard for ptermann, especially playing teams and wr. No doubt we have to keep all 4 protected.

Will Streveler Be Our James Franklin?
wbbfan replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
mmm listed as cut idk if he requested to be released. 🙄 you seem to be the one most interested in peoples arms... He doesnt lack any physical passing tool. Accuracy, touch, strength etc. He had and has a complete lack of experience playing above the HS level. 90% of his action out side of one (partial?) year at college is pre season action in the nfl and cfl. * about one years worth of games spread over 4 seasons and two college teams. looked bad last year in brief action for them. this tc and pre season he has been on fire. too many people think that if a wr can dive fully lay out and touch a ball with the tips of one finger its easily catchable. game of inches. you always lose by small margins at many points through out the game. The big finish after is what people remember, a bad call a missed play but every team that loses had atleast 10 plays earlier in the game where they could have changed the out come. -
I do agree with that, but I dont have any data to put the coaching salaries into perspective. For all I know thats double what every team spends. In all likelihood it is a bit low. 11 coaches, 1 HC, 1 CO for O and D, 1 for STs, that leaves 7 spots for positional coaching. Qb, ol, DL, lbers, dbs, wr, and rb. Some teams will have WR/rb, or qb/wr, lb/de etc. So the number of spots makes sense. The average is a shade under 100k. Im sure Hcs, and high profile oc/dc / assistant HCs will make much larger chunks then that. But it seems like a good starting place. Is it strange? yes no doubt. We cant really compare to other sports. The cfl just doesnt fit the mold of other teams. What I expect this will mean is every team will use more cis types at a cheaper salary to fill out some positional/depth spots. If you want to point fingers, look at the coaching staff/management that has spent like drunken sailors, broken abused and battered countless rules and brought this about.
-
wow not a fan of the end bit of that. More league wide money on scouting means more/better talent in the league which is more money for every one... Might be due in part to a certain teams management indulging soo heavily during the draft combine...
