That in it self no. that said 5 lbs of lean mass is a **** ton on a refined athletes body. For a trim athlete who already has a matured build and limited frame (the type of guy whose a tweener up here db-lb, db, wr and most rbs) with out juice to add 5 pounds of muscle with out hindering performance would be time consuming. But thats assuming a close to athletically maxed out build, etc. Some guys could gain that in no time. some guys itd take a year and a half to do so. Does 5 lbs of muscle make that big a difference? Against OL you are already out soo much weight not really. Against other rbs it can. If you are 5lbs of lean mass under the weight of the rbs you face youll notice it. Same if you are 5 lbs over. If you have the work ethic and or football IQ like Mos, unless that other guy can match you those 5lbs mean a whole lot less. Its kind of a whole lot of nothing right now, just speculation. He looks like a wil though. But he could have the flexibility to play a few positions. Its like the loffler to wil talks etc. Personally I think corney is more then fast/quick enough to cut it at mlb. Especially if he went back down to his drafted weight. Though I could just as easily see him coming in even bigger this year and moving to DT. Consider the jumps in power ranges in combat sports. the jump from 155-171 is gigantic. thats 16 lbs obviously, but you get the point. Milt wasnt the tallest or heaviest (or even the fastest) wr of his era. He was the most refined athlete though. Far more athletes have that physical level of refinement today then back then. Match him up against a similar quality db and knock 5lbs off him to bring him down to a more human level of athlete and it becomes much harder for him.

yeah that sounds about right. The larger mlber is kinda of old school now. It really depends on the athlete. Its probably possible to get it done down in the 210 range, and up in the 250+ range. Though both would be harder. But if you are strong/fast enough it could work. The nfl has and has had some exceptional freak athletes who are small and ridiculously strong and big + crazy fast. In a best case scenario, when you notice them. Its when you dont notice them because theyve been swallowed up by a lineman or blocking back, or been run over by a large back like messam. An end, wil and mac in the cfl has to be strong and tough enough to survive the lumps they will take when they end up 1 on 1 with a OL. I dont think the league they play in in college is as big a deal as some. Big sec type schools do have better over all talent / athletes. But that goes both ways. You play with better and have more covered up. Because while the level is higher, its still a lot of raw guys who are either talented or athletic. Not a ton of guys who are both. I also dont think the big schools style of play synchronizes as well with up here. If he has what it takes to cut it up here, we will see soon enough. If he doesnt, it wont matter what position he plays. And if he does, he will work his way into a niche. Hes gonna be interesting to watch and see how he pans out.

Its true heart can over come size in football, with in reason. Mlber is a heart and systems position. Sherrit is certainly an exception but you dont have to be 250 or even 240 to play mlber.

Yeah pretty much. Hes still young and I hope he figures it out. I look at kozachuk (his hair) and think yeah he fits the bomber mold. I mean who else do we have to rock some awesome locks???
-
Hes a pure upside pick, since the fall out with the drug test he hasnt seemed to put any of the effort into football required. If you could get the most out of all the wrs potential, he'd be the best one. But he might have the poorest chance of ever coming close to that.

Might just be me, or a fondness of those guys/position but it seems like the CIS really churns out those big body Hback type guys.

Id like to see the amount benched scale with position/weight. Just doesnt make sense to me having a 200 lbs wr who will face 200 lbs or less dbs, and 220 ish sams/Ss bench the same as a linemen. Kinda of a peeve of mine. havent watched any drills or tests yet, looks like a few guys put up really good jump numbers though. Its great to see the over all athleticism at skill positions moving up. Any one at the event? how is the atmosphere / presentation?
-
Yeah that isnt gonna happen. Short of us finding a great MLBer, JSK is pretty much penned in at that spot now. From the video he's clearly a hard hitter, he certainly doesnt look to have elite or high end speed. His jumping is pretty impressive though. Weak 40 and strong jumping hints at a guy who is quick off the line but not straight line down field break away fast. Speed translates a bit different up here as well. I dont mean speedsters, but with the wide field and with out the normal tackle box some guys flourish while other guys flounder with similar speed level.

Size isnt what id worry about. If you have the work ethic and heart 210 can get it done. At wil. Our DTs eat up soo much of the OL, and our pass rushers are soo dangerous it would help a ton. Its tough to say what he will be in camp. You never know when a guy trent corneys' and comes in with 12 lean pounds added. body constitution is a big deal as well. Two guys can be the same weight and height while having totally different builds. We cant say what his build is like the coaches and scouts know and or will come camp. He could be strong enough for wil, he might need to add a lil muscle. If he does I dont think he'd be far off. Iirc Brain clark was 6'2 220 in an era that featured much more heavy set action and running game.

verily. Its funny i was never a thor fan growing up. I thought he was pretty lame. And I think the SJW movement of marvel has been lame. They have had a lot of back lash for it, and horrible sub numbers. BUT thor the unworthy was a fantastic story line and thats what really got me into thor in the marvel universe. If any one wants a little bit to read, check out gor the god butcher through thor the un worthy. A lot of movie story line tie ins as well. Until they prove other wise, I expect more reys parents were nobodies who sold her for beer money. I hope they turn over a new leaf and prove me wrong. The books, and animated content has been fantastic.

this is a great point. hasnt he been cut short of a major contract bonus twice? Sat a bunch before he signed with mtl etc.

I dont think they will do Ultimate mjolnir. I think it will be similar but not another mjolnir. I think itll be closer to jarnbjorn but newer. Out side chance at some thing riffing off the odinsword. Stormbreaker is yes, but pictured is the ultimates universe mjolnir, not stormbreaker. The ultimate universe has multiple mjolnirs, but this is the go to.

I sure would love to get a walters bomber jersey with the number being the year we win a GC.... get er done boys. In the presser it seemed like they are set on starting newf on the OL as the 7th NI. Which worries me to be honest. I hope one of our young NIs else where steal a job. Especially coates. He showed the flashes weve seen with other NI wrs before (most recently JFG) in that he came in and caught every thing thrown near him. But what I really dig is in general how he plays football. Getting down field and blocking for team mates, never giving up on plays, that blood n guts NI special teams pro. Ive always loved wrs that get after it with throwing blocks. Its contagious, and leads to all kinds of great things for a team.

Thats true. But the only one available is priced out of the market we are in sadly. If we dont have the money for henoc. bighill will probably be out of reach as well.
-
we arent in a bad spot ratio wise though. we dont have an allstar to plug in to the last slot, but we do have quality football players. Bighill would be an insane get. Only way I see that happening is if BC shoot their cap load and gets muamba. 0

he was indeed on the PR disclosure list, and listed as a db on it. https://www.cfl.ca/2018/02/20/cfl-reveals-list-10-negotiation-list-players-team/ I think play style wise he would be best at wil. But who knows. Look forward to seeing what he brings to camp. On walters, I think he has done the right thing. If they though they would get the answer in 48 hours and didnt hear back, he should have said this after a week. I hope montreal does lower their offer now. Any IMP we start at wil (with jsk at mlb) will be a gigantic upgrade over hurl.

wasnt prewitt announced previously? Or was he on the 10 name neg list released? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AF7H6L1LV6k&t=97s I wonder what position prewitt is best at, sam? Safety? Maybe some under sized wil. Him and loffler on the field at the same time would be great fun to watch if he pans out.

It isnt about cap space, its about usage and roster space. Lafrance can do all the package stuff we did with flanders, while freeing up a valuable DI spot. I dont see the connection between flanders and dressler. One is our back up rb the other is maybe our best wr and a big leader on offense the last few years. In the clutch he is the guy you are best off throwing the ball to. No way flanders makes near dressler money. His spot is gonna be a real battle though. imo itll take a lot to over come the pass port of lafrance. Guys who could be cap casualties imo, Fogg (returners pop up every year, he has to find consistency and make it as a db or become an elite returner) Wild (love the guy, when healthy and on hes great. But thats all too rare) Ogogpogo (3 des, similar production hes much more expensive) Newf (the young cheaper Nis are at his heels, coulture could fill his spot with ease imo) Two crazy out side shots at being cap cuts are medlock, faith and bowman. Kicker is the most what have you done for me lately position, in a sport that is quick to turn on you. If medlock starts out poor and FMB has a good camp medlock could be gone in the blink of an eye. its kind of his MO as well. Bowman, obviously coming off his worst year. We have some good looking young prospects his position is in pencil not pen. Faith ekakitie is pretty crazy, but the bombers gave him huge money for a drafted rookie. And the leash for high picks like him isnt terribly long. Sure they get run around half the league, but plenty of first round picks, and high picks that dont work out are gone quick.
-
I think (just my opinion) he would have come here if we matched dollars. If we are tight with the cap including the rookie money etc for when PR expands, it makes sense that we leave a good chunk of it alone. Forget mid season replacements etc, what if some one like gray shakes loss mid season? He is going to demand serious money, and it isnt a one and done thing. he is a guy youd hope to have around and build with. I guess im just resigned to us not getting him. It is upsetting that we didnt get one of the three MLBers available though. I love JSK, but its a huge difference between sustaining that kind of play and showing flashes early. And im leary of depending on wild too.

This is the big thing. Where ever we put the last starting NI, it wont be a dud like previously with hurl. The depth of canadian talent on this team is what will continue to carry us into the play offs for years to come.
-
Wow. But its fair. He is one of the biggest screw ups in the history of the sport. I wouldnt be surprised to see him fighting in rizin, or who knows follow RR to the wwe lol. He will be damn near 35 when the ban is over. Not long ago he was the best and on track to challenge for GOAT, and really young with his best a head of him. Now he is a bum. Volkov is looking like he is next up for a shot at the title.

A lot of jobs could qualify as better paying and more secure, just at macdonalds alone.
-
Thomas was far under the level of poop + nevis, and ekakatie is behind thomas. Corney is closer but still well back of our 3 headed imp monster that is defensive end as well. miles n briggs are an interesting thought at wil with jsk at mac. This, now more then ever we seem poised to start a ni db (other then saftey) Though I suspect we will see it be on offense to start. Coates, lafrance and wolitarski. Thats a bloody strong rotation. I dont think itll be on the OL short of gray coming sooner then expected. I think we will plug foketi in on the OL. We have an opening for the 7th canadian, but the difference between us and teams in trouble with the ratio is we have a few good options to fill out that 7th spot. And a few good bodies at those positions.
-
He seems like the kind of up side pick we'd make too. Assuming his head is on straight.
-
I kinda think he is the norm for our scouting department. Where as the taman types in the past were romanced by great prestigious ncaa careers, I feel like our current regime scouts players no matter the numbers. Tj thorpe, bryan bennett and dom davis etc.
