  1. 1 Darvin adams. He was all over the field, and was missed when open a couple times monster night. 2 Drake nevis. often the dl or both DTs get the nod. because nevis and poop and the entire dl are stellar. But drake the snake deserves the nod to him self. 3 Thompkins. I feel like as a check down guy he is heavily under used. Need a first down? Need to toss a 50/50 ball? This is your man. HH odd one, but this goes to weston dressler. Hope he gets better soon. What we lose just by having stankford on the roster is a huge turn down. The effort and leadership of dressler on top of his skill is sorely missed.
  2. and the off season scrum for plop begins early.
  3. im pretty sure if it was we would have heard a comment about bauer from him already.
  4. I feel like he has had more time and reps with the riders then us. but at the same time i still feel like he is one of ours, i love watching the guy play. i wish him nothing but the best.
  5. of this half dozen of the other. lots of guys get false positives from contaminated supplements. The manufacturing of legit supplements is very often done in the same place were illegal substances are bottled. That said it doesnt excuse guys who pop. its on them to be sure they are clean.
  6. paint me like one of your saskatchewan girls.
  7. missing that big chunk of time hurts. QB is a rhythm position, once knocked out of it it is hard and time consuming to get back. I dont think weve done that in a while, though i do love that package follow up.
  8. calgary is certainly an elite regular season team. But yeah this is not an era dominated (in grey cups) by any elite team or teams. I dont know if its the salary cap bringing parity, or just that the qb talent has spread it self fairly evenly across the league. Also any one short of a deep ball specialist (and even then to an extent) is going to struggle when they throw that many balls deep down field with such regularity. The defense knows its coming after a while, and even if you run it well its such a lower percentage pass the deeper you go that it will take your offense out of any rhythm and stall drives.
  9. I think thats two good teams tackles for him since he came back. Un like most mobile athletic qbs, BB is strong af.
  10. Some interesting things to consider from this game 13 offensive drives (im not counting the snap and kneels at the end of the game) 5 2 and outs + the fumble drive which was 2 plays long. Thats 6/13 drives yielding 12 offensive plays. + 2 5 play drives with the last play being a punt. 8/13 bad offensive drives. the other 5 drives? all scored points. Starting position for those 5 drives? the hamilton 50 (td), the hamilton 26(td), our 45 (fg), our 35(td), and the hamilton 54 yard line. In those 5 drives the first had a 30 yard run by harris, started at the 26, the third was the double PI and roughing that moved the ball 31 yards, the last two drives are classic plop drives. Ball control, moving the ball around, keeping harris involved in multiple ways. And of course, both those drives featured key first down YAC runs by petermann. Special teams really wont this game for us. medlock averaged 44.7 net yards punting. limiting williams to 3 returns for 0 yards. Medlock averaged 67.4 yards per kick off, and erlington averaged 22.4 yards per kick off return. Mean while demski averaged 33.3 yards per kick off return (on 70.2 for lirim) and we averaged about 5 yards per punt return while lirim had a net of 35.2 I dont know why we didnt adjust away from those deep passes. I get it that hamilton plays the most man coverage, and that you can create a lot when the saftey slides or shows blitz. But when our offense is at its best they are setting up deep balls slowly. We need for this to be our worst offensive game play call and execution wise for the year. Gotta get back to doing better then this.
  11. montreal is used to being a gong show. toronto is coming off a grey cup win and still a young front office in that city, not to mention serious attendance problems. Wally, is not used to losing. nothing would surprise me at this point. You know he doesnt want to waste his last year on a dud of a team. Lions are most dangerous at old age. They can sense the end is coming and know its time to go down swinging. i actually have a sympathy thing for the browns. Id hate to see him with them. this is a great and interesting point. I think the desire to right that ship will win out, you cant afford to hold a grudge too long in the cfl its too small a world. Every thing comes back around. (see chris williams)
  12. The biggest issue with that is loffler is often in position to make a tackle but sells out for a hit instead. Guys the league over have it figured out and have adapted. If he would adjust as well doing more sound wrap up and take down it would open up his ability to hit some times as well. He has got to be among the league leaders in missed tackles. Mo at S, fenner at sam, then we need a back up rotational db, not a hard spot to fill.
  13. ehh depends on how you define it. Right now id say calgary is the only elite team. And even they have an asterisk. I would put us, ottawa and edmonton in the second tier as contenders. Id personally have us at the top of that pile. We play like an elite team every other game, then we surge and coast in the follow up. We dont have the consistent dominance to be elite yet. Would duron carter make us soo much better that itd be note worth? no. Im a big believe in the guys talents. No can can deny he is an excellent player. But we are stacked at wr this year. We have more guys then we have ability to use. Kenbrell thompkins in edmonton would be top 5 in every category imo. Duron is a better player then adams and dressler. But his negative in terms of head case and chemistry is far too large. We dont have a need at wr right now. I wouldnt take any of our wrs off the roster right now. I could see BC, and montreal being interested. Maybe hamilton. But I think the most likely one in TO.
  14. I loved what Petermann showed. Turned the corner with speed twice and made important gains out of short passes. He is like a young ni dresser.
  15. Now that first part is pure truth. Totally agree. Motivation? Some guys especially the ever prepared types have a harder time now playing then living life. If it isn't that then yeah I can't see why he'd come to the cfl. It might just be a shot at the NFL to go with not going to his hof ceremony.
  16. First star. Big hill. All over the field making plays. Second star the whole dl. They struggled with the adjustment to read option but made Masolis night a nightmare. Third star goes to Harris. Carried the mail again moved the yard sticks and ran down the clock. A tough night not the flashiest but we'd a been hosed with out him tnite. Hh to medlock for dropping the ball then switch kicking it 40 freaking yards. Great night punting in general.
  17. Our group on the DL is among the most talent at rushing the passer that ive ever seen. To think corney has been hurt alot, and westerman left in the offseason and it hasnt had any affect on pressure.
  18. As long as it doesnt involve cheering for the riders (short of it helping our play off picture) It is ok imo. Just try not to cheer too much or you will wake up feeling dirty and cheap in the morning.
  19. I hear the more LBers you dress the better your chances are of winning. Maybe its apart of a new deception tactic. They wont know who is playing what until we line up! list every one as a lber!!!!!!
  20. this is a good point. He is new to us, but not new to the pros. lol. I have no idea if he takes any thing, but contaminated supplements are a HUUUUUGE thing. I like spooner, I hope this was an accident, and if it was an incident I hope he smartens up. To be honest, I dont know that spooner makes "steroid money" 😛
  21. Boxers are among the best conditioned athletes when it comes to violent sports. And boxing is more reliant on fast twitch type actions then half the positions in football. He claimed he still ran a 4.4 ish recently. Sure I dont expect him to be crazy fast by any means. How fast is JFG though? We have seen some pretty slow wrs. The point is, his skill level is soo high that if sharp he could easily over come being slow. Nik lewis wasnt fast since he got stuck at the all you can eat buffet for an entire year, but he sure was effective. Im not saying he would be instantly good, or great. Merely that giving him a look is not a bad idea by any means.
  22. He might. Though he only missed a significant portion of time once in his entire career. George foreman re captured the heavy weight title at 45 years old. And he took greater damage then TO imo.
