  1. WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed International wide receiver/returner Solomon Patton. Patton (5-9, 177, Florida, October 17, 1990 in Mobile, AL) was Tampa Bay’s primary kick and punt returner in 2014, averaging 11.2 yards per punt return, and 23.1 on kickoff returns. He spent last season in Denver’s training camp, while also spending a brief period with Arizona. Patton had a standout career at the University of Florida, playing four seasons (2010-2013), and appearing in 43 games, totalling 52 receptions for 635 yards and six touchdowns. He also returned 39 kicks for 1,079 yards and one touchdown. Patton was voted team MVP after his senior season, and set a team record for highest kick return average in a season with 29.2 yards per return. Interesting depth at the KR spot for TC. Kinda sounds like vinny sutherland to me.
  2. EEEEEEEEEEK this would be a huge huge move if we finally got him. As for tall WRs, it does have some strong advantages. I wouldnt place any skill or attribute over the ability to catch, but size is up there right after it. Weve seen a few guys over the years who couldnt catch a cold. Kamau incompleterson hands of stone cloman, etc. Having a guy with a 8-10" height advantage who can iso and run a fade is huge especially in the red zone. That said id take a guy who after catching is more of a technically sound wr. Great route running, knowing when to change gears, find the soft spot in zone etc over the burners and giants who cant do any of that.
  3. Looks good, hope they get it built. More new stadiums is great for the league.
  4. Looks like he could be a gooder look forward to seeing him in camp.
  5. bout the age khari jones broke into the cfl isnt it? that said i dont think tebow would be more then a back up, he wont turn into a cfl qb and a decent passer in short order.
  6. I think we have some great pieces in the front office and coaching staff. Im glad we havent gone and fired them and are letting them develop. That said in pro sports, especially the CFL you dont get long term rebuilding periods. Weve fired people over shorter periods of time then mos and this management regime. If they dont make the play offs this year i dont think there is any chance that group is left intact. Maybe wade stays, maybe. Every one under that is gone for sure. If wade wont do it then im sure theyll can him too. I think very highly of this group, and I believe they will show that the wait has been well worth it. They have the tool sets to develop this team into a long term competitor.
  7. No kidding. He showed plenty of promise and is in no way ready to be judged. Henoc was similar in his first year. Teams, bench and a few un spectacular plays on D. waggoner has a great skill set and seems to have the desire to work to become great. Im really looking forward to seeing what he brings in TC.
  8. Yeah thatd be pretty awesome. Really hope we can land him.
  9. Matt walter was cut by calgary, he'd be good to bring in for rb depth.
  10. xD true enough. Dirty old regina in winter with there no plow BS and no place to do any thing sucks. The hammer just allways seems dirty and grubby. Nothing better then being in dirty old regina after a bomber win though.
  11. A few teams did really well in free agency. The bombers are certainly among them. We will probably have the most improved roster going into TC but you never know alot of moves left to go. Hard to hate the moves weve made from any perspective.
  12. Please can we just have the retro uni's full time. PRETTY PLEASE! the last few years have been brutal enough just give us this one.
  13. Thats cool i guess. Glad he has a good job. Though id rather live any place else in canada then hamilton.
  14. Wonder what less browne is up to. I allways like him as a Position coach. Though iirc he was a lb coach but im not sure.
  15. even if we got 0-18 at least we might have our old school jerseys full time.
  16. Idk if its lack of talent or of wylie is over rated. I do think we've had a lack of talent but im not sure he's had the impact we'd hoped. I imagine hes among the highest paid ol coaches in the cfl so he could be a spot targeted for a new body. Any way you cut it i do see our coaching being a lot better this year. MoS gets better each week and no bellifool is a huge step forward.
  17. When the rider fans and bomber fans agree you know its an end of days level bad idea. I cant help but laugh at the idea of all the cfl teams going to st louis and playing NFL rules against a team will all americans then them playing canadian rules in the canadian league when they come here. So much bad. just no. Id rather have marcel bellefool back as our OC for 10 years then see this shenanigans. Get an AFL team, or that out door played at college sub cfl league.
  18. Dont wanna see the cfl go back to the us. especially if they do that crazy us teams use american players as NI. 10 team league would be ideal imop, but all canadian. Quebec city would be my choice for the next team. Though halifax probably has a better chance.
  19. That doesnt include signing bonus though. Generally cfl guys get a decent signing bonus. Idk if they get the per diem money on the pr but thats not a small amount either.
  20. EH he didnt do a TC and had been tc/practise roster stuck for a while. Takes some time to get back into the groove of every down player, especially coming back to the cfl. If he stays he will be a force once again.
  21. bryant turner at DE. i kid i kid. Its a good point. I wonder if we will go rookie or try and get a proven cfl pass rusher. The DL could be scary good this year.
  22. Im looking forward to use getting some people who will make that spot competitive. Thatll be peachy keen.
  23. agree with this. I dont see us having that kind of money especially for a LBer even if its henoc. Could see him being a guy late to camp, or missing it entirely waiting on the nfl.
  24. Not adjustments that worked but yes. Any way you cut it we will have to wait and see how he run the off come the regular season. I dont think any one will say hes worse then MB, but he sure hasnt shown to be a top tier OC in the past. Hope for the best prepare for the worst. At worst our offense should be a lot better then last year.
