  1. and 2/3s of our team is Lbers who play teams. I jk i jk.
  2. Is it still possible for us to cross over?
  3. It was talked about in chat a bunch we need to see some shovel pass and pa boots. Option offense stuff too. Id like to see couture get a start. Rest bond/hardrick for the play offs. Cant say if spooner is ready, but would love to see him draw in as well to reward his loyalty declining the BC pick from the PR.
  4. Not musical. Im a big fan of JRE, but this one went full wacko pretty fast. It seems tom delonge is bad %^&$ crazy.
  5. Lapo deep balls tend to come on 2nd and short or first down past our 35. We dont really stretch the field down field, we take shots. We stretch the field side line to side line then hope the D is spread thin when we take the deep shot. The offense has, but the OL has been as well. And Harris. This style of play has brought us back to respectability, but short of a world beating D I dont think we can be perennial contenders with it. When ricky ray ran a similar offense they used crossing routes to bust seems for big plays, and a lot of rub routes which we dont. Dressler cant stay healthy, in the way we use him. But darvin adams cant stay healthy either. And he isnt run over the middle and literally running the ball like dressler either. Denny has been a disappointment this year. Though his nose for the end zone hints he still has some thing left. Again look at our use of depth wrs. We spread the ball and they get a few short passes but nothing like our no1 gets. We could have an allstar group of wrs top the bottom, hands down the best in the league and it wouldnt matter if we didnt give them good looks to make plays on.
  6. Sask has a couple real good young talents, they signed duron carter and we dont want duron carter. Bc has a very good core, but all they do is sling it deep. Edm also has a couple real good young wrs, a qb that gives them a ton of jump balls to go make plays on and the most over rated droppingest wr in the league who we also wouldnt want (back). But dressler and adams on those teams in place of their top 2 wrs and little to nothing changes. The depth of sasks wr core would be impactful for us if we swapped entire cores out right. But i still wouldnt do it. Weve found tons of talented wrs. Weve done a poor job of utilizing them and recognizing what we have had. The difference is not wr core. Its the offensive system. Imagine if those teams had plops play calling, poor use of talents below the no1 wr (look at the production from dressler and adams when both are on the roster, then look at each when only one is on the roster). if they threw the huge majority of their passes on 2nd and X short of first down yardage how many of those teams would do well?
  7. Coates just makes plays when ever he is given a chance. Also a killer teams guy. Givens is clearly an elite level talent/athlete but is still new to the league and in an offense that doesnt make wrs look good very often. And is bad at making use of specific threats. Flanders/harris? One starts at a flanker/wr spot the other was leading the league in catches. Idk if it was you, but earlier this season this board was FILLED with people saying we didnt have 1 good wr. Then it was ok dressler but thats it. Then oh adams but thats it. WR talent isnt the best in the league. But it also is far from an issue here. Weve seen Wr cores of milt and a bunch of luke warm (at best bodies). This isnt that. How many top notch wrs do we need? More is allways better, but if we had to address positions of need right now, itd be mlber, dc, starting NIs, and Rb. Pound for pound i would take our wr core over the stamps.
  8. No. That said we all know hall has gotta go. An argument can be made for plop as well. We NEED a new DC, and some adjustments to the ratio. A bit more depth, same as every team in the league really. We may have to walk away from expensive imp vets in order to make cap room to re tool. But I dont think we will do that.
  9. Bucks primary limiting factor was allways his mentality. No matter who you surrounded him with he would allways end up hurt, and throwing risky passes. He was a great leader. And a hell of a football player. But a pretty mediocre passer. Kevin glenn light. Philip nelson fan club is starting up. As soon as i can figure a way to reprint over the austin apodaca shirts i will begin distributing them. Want in? A new vet back up qb is some thing we need to take a long hard look at in the off season. That said, with our tight cap situation going into the season and still some holes to fill it may be a pipe dream. Either that, or we will need to re tool and move money from some older guys to new players and hope depth can fill the rest.
  10. This. This is the first time we have lost back to back games this year, and mos is with in sight of .500 as a bombers hc. After that horrid start that is very impressive. Mos, miller, and walters are strengths, not weaknesses. Richie, and to a lesser extent plop are issues. Double agree on the ratio issue. Long term we need 1 more starting NI ol. Though westerman being hurt is a big blow to the ratio. Id argue that we do find talented wrs. Givens, thorpe and other guys weve cut that have been picked up else where. Our offense doesnt flatter or make good use of diverse offensive threats though. We under use flanders when healthy as well.
  11. The als D would have given up less points :s
  12. Yeah this week and last week it was a lot worse then previous for some reason.
  13. 1 Medlock. Return of the Moplock. 7/7 field goals, 45.8 yard punt average, 63.2 kick off average. 2 Poop. 2 sacks and a TON of pressures again. If he got a sack every other pressure he'd lead the league. 3 Derek jones. Blocked a punt that scored our TD, and a big sack on a very savoy play not giving up the running angle. hh Foggs 65 yard punt return.
  14. There was, but it was reversed. Sounds like walmart to me. Sports tend to get all kinds of passes on both sides of the border for all kinds of laws and enforcement.
  15. I would. No way can a team with the reverse ratio ever work. Idk first year ott beat us both times did they not?
  16. I could see nichols having his best game of the year maybe his career. Ol is banged up though they have under performed this year.
  17. With the state of the Als, I cant see another team in Quebec working any time soon. The als have a great fan base and are really struggling to make it work. As much as I hate to say it, if the league had to expand right now, the best option would not be a canadian based team. Which alone should scream how badly the league is not in a spot to expand right now. But if the gun was to my head, Id go to a market close to the border but state side. A lot of the cities along the border are very canadian esq. hockey fans and cold weather blue collar sorts. My american geo is abysmal. So ignore any awful misses and accept my apologies in advance. Portland ore, would be an apt market. Not as far north as is ideal though. Louisville Kentucky is not one of those north cities with ties to canada. But a strong sports market. Hartford Ct. Interesting city with canadian ties (hockey) and an area with great sports support. Also not northern, but Oakland would be an interesting option. If any thing, this is a better list of cities for AFL, or yet another failure in waiting of another out door semi pro / pro football league in the states. No expansion for now, wait 5-10 years then look at halifax.
  18. Pretty much. In order to find an owner willing to take the bath needed to get that franchise started I bet they would 100% have to wave the expansion fee. Bad enough they would have to come in and build a stadium + the other infrastructure. The state of the arblows probably has the biggest impact on the next TV deal. Idk when thats up, but strong ownership for them has to be priority no1 atm. Continue to build the league, and strengthen its partners. Do that and halifax will have its day. Just like ott did. Ps can we have cohon back now? Please?
  19. QFT. If we dont take care of montreal and TO the league will be in serious trouble. I thought ambrosie would be more of a figure head, he seems pretty active so far. Maybe hes speaking for the board, or maybe hes talkin out his butt.
  20. More likely we would protect him and lose some one like trent corney or jake thomas.
  21. I do not believe halifax can or will support a franchise long term. I love the east coast and would love nothing more then to see a team well supported there. I also do not think that expansion is a great idea for the league at this time. This is far more of valley time then a peak. Weve seen what poorly timed and executed expansion has done in the past. Look at the amount of tries it has taken for a team to stick in ottawa. And are they soo stabile that they are free of danger for the next 5 years? Are the argos? Talent level in the league is in a good spot. While i believe you can develop the american core in a year or two, you cant with the NIs. And the draft while heavily improved over what it was 10 years ago, is not deep enough. Take one starting NI off each team. Then look at the bottom starting NI in terms of talent. And the then thinned out back ups. Qb wise it wouldnt be a terrible time imo. We are at a tipping point in terms of the age of qbs. Glenn and Durant are in their late stages. A few back ups around the league show promise. Teams would have the option of going young, or trying to cling to an old vet that gives them a chance now. A strong base of a great owner and fans, depth QB talent, and depth of NI talent are the keys to making an expansion work. Right now, the chance that a halifax team would be operating and healthy in 5 years are more negative then any thing. And the blow to the league of having to close their doors, as well as limp them through the time before shut down are worse then what we would gain if it worked out.
  22. Also Bridge. He looks like a legit heir appearant. 3rd highest in points for 2nd lowest in points against. They really run and gun teams to death while doing what our defense is supposed to do in theory.
  23. It virtually allways ends like this. Its either this or they retire too young.
  24. Theyve turned it around. hes still a pox on the league.
