news out of riderville are saying chad owens is close to making his season debut for the crieders. -
Adams gone for rest of regular season

6'4 236, does he train in competitive eating with nik lewis in the off season? -
Corney has shown more flashes this year, but isnt he banged up too? Imo mulumba would be more raw then corney playing end too. This isnt a westerman type situation. The 4 imps on the DL with jeffcoat and corney rotating is good, especially while we are banged up at WR and starting 2 ni any way.

also a fantastic teams guy. Plus who knows how wild will look when he comes back he has missed a TON of football. -
Nah not the worst. Still better then montreal, Healthy to healthy better then a few other teams too. Cant say atm with injures how good it is or isnt, we dont know who is in or out for how long. Not long ago this wr core was called down and derided for not having any elite wr or wr who could stretch the field. That all went away pretty quick though didnt it. We also dont know exactly what we have in a bunch of guys that will probably be forced into action. Its not a bad wr core, its a banged up wr core. Do we need upgrades? sure. Our LB core is in more trouble then our wr core. And our rb depth too. We are on the fringe of locking up a home play off game with a couple weeks to spare. Its not panic time.

Man that one really blows. He was such a fantastic actor and person.

He was being de-activated again, allegedly down to the PR. He asked for his out right release. Felt his play had entitled him to a spot. This. Normand isnt fast but he is big and bruising. Shown some pretty good hops now and then too. John rush also converted to FB, mike miller rosters as a fb as well. Those are the guys we would see in a pinch. If flanders is out next week id actually like to see the flanker set with harris and normand. Would be phenomenal for pass pro. Normand seems to struggle catching the ball though. At one point due to turf toe to charlie roberts we had mike sellers start at RB, only other back up we had was wade miller and maybe brad yamoka. Though im not sure on yamoka. Neither of them are more able (even in their generation) then miller, normand or rush. We also went to keith stokes to start at RB for i think 2 games. We had a stint where all our backs went down hurt as well. Yves?, fred, and volny. Come to think of it we where very thin for a good while with guys like paris cotton, will ford, chad simpson, chris garrett etc. Wonder what kendall roberson and lache seastrunk are up to now? Both looked pretty strong in camp. If flanders is out for any period of time I wouldnt hesitate to grab one of them. They should have some idea of our system and coaches as well.

Poop on the PR is criminal. Jeffcoat missed entirely, JSK snubbed with pr is sad too.

The rest of this week then 3 more weeks before round one. Dont know the extent of the injuries so far, wild and dressler are close to coming back. All in all a good situation, far from a pyrrhic victory.
-
Normally there is a good bit of adaptation to the cfl game. WR is a bit more plug and play, and a guy who played in the slot for as much as he did in the nfl should be good to give er a go pretty quick.
-
TO has a lead late. this is looking like itll go right down to the wire. cmon frito ray
-
The glove, the weather, the hits hard couple weeks for him.
-
Depending on injures and guys getting healthy it really is gonna be tough.
-
Yeah it was, and the deep ball. They did both well. That blind side hit was brutal. We really gotta lock up a home spot this week or next so we can let nichols get healthy. Hes gotta be pretty banged up by now.

Im not a doctor but I play one in real life. As for the WR core, its a strange spot. On the surface we have a good group. But stankford is a downgrade from mcduff, and we let him walk. Need to upgrade stanky. Then denny. I think we all love him for his heart and what he did last year. But he is just invisible in way too many games for an imp wr. Then dressler. I know we all love him. But the guy cant stay healthy. I dont wanna see it end badily for him. Id love to see him as a wr coach in the future. But hes a guy we cant invest star imp wr money on going into next year. For now dressler, adams, with a healthy flanders flanking, denny in the redzone and the unspectacular but dependable NIs will have to do. With what coates has shown, and JFG stepping up when we need him and woli a NI worth grooming im not too worried about our NI wr talent now. Sure a 1k ni wr would be great, but any star quality NI would be as well. We have to get younger at WR, and more dangerous. Washington has big up side. So does chris givens. Once we lock up a home play off game we should really try to get both of them in and see if they are guys we want to roster in the play offs. As well as make more use of flanders when hes healthy. A lot of the juggernaut offensive performances we put on where enabled due to misdirection involving him. But as a weapon we didnt get a ton of use out of him directly.

Jsk is really turning into some thing special. I wonder if he could excel in the middle when wild is healthy... Man they had huge penetration on our run plays all day. Clearly had some pre snap read picked up. Tough running for harris, heroic effort from him today.
-
1 Medlock. 3 fgs monster job punting. 47 yards per punt. 2 Fogg. Return for a TD, and huge pick return that almost went for another. 3 The DL. Pressure all day on jennings, johnson had a big average but they contained the running game to a long run of 15. HH Heath with the pick 6 that was a nail in the coffin. Honorable mention to our kick cover guys for containing rainey.

same here. Man another great pre game interview, this time with terrence edwards.

The event is looking pretty bloody good. especially considering it isnt a PPV. I was looking at the earnings for the last ufc PPV. Made me sad. I could think of 3 times or so jack dempsey earned more in one fight (in the 1920s) then any one on the card. Then trying to think how many fights itd take DJ to equal some of those classic fights. Forget the ALI act the ufc fighters need an Ebeneezer scrooge christmas carol level of divine intervention.

Fire Richie Hall !!!! DISGRACE COACH
wbbfan replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I thought the same thing when i heard that lol! -
we used it situationally, mostly after we had a big play we would use it for a bit to try and catch the D un prepared. Would like to see more nichols calling plays and running hurry up.
-
Imo you are over rating collaros. If durant, lulay, glenn and ray retire, jennings is still young with more success and up side. Franklin will be the most sought after guy. More likely atleast half of durant, lulay, ray, and glenn stick around and trade teams. Collaros will be on a team next year im sure. But he will be the guy some one settles for as a back up to push some one else. 14, 13, 12, 10, and 8 games over the past 5 years. No one is a major upgrade when they are gonna miss half the season every single year. Id bet he gets released to save cap space.

Fire Richie Hall !!!! DISGRACE COACH
wbbfan replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I believe OB said hes the back up punter and jake thomas is the back up kicker. You dont carry a guy in specific to be the back up kicker/punter. You take a guy with inclination or experience (a lot of college and hs athletes will have played both ways or kicked at some point) and give them some reps and go with it. My tendency would be to try out the RBs/fbs, that position requires quickness and leg drive. Its far from often that you see what we did with a back up position guy kicking/punting. I can count on one hand how often ive seen it for us. -
Fire Richie Hall !!!! DISGRACE COACH
wbbfan replied to USABomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Id say so. But i dont see any chance mos does an about face on what seems to be his most core believe. Or that wade/walters would pull the rip cord on him while about to secure a home play off game and a spot in the play offs for the second year. Coaching extremes have limited half lifes. Extreme authoritarians eventually rub their team raw. So when an adversity cycle hits the team breaks. Extreme play coaches who give all the lee way in the world lose the room. Players coast in prep and play. Players develop a quitters attitude. etc. For the short term, we need better controlled aggression on defense. Defending first down yardage on 2nd down, and getting steady pressure and disrupting qbs. Especially out of our blitzes. This is SNAFU for us. We have got to send atleast 1 guy as much as any team in the league. But get easily the least production out of our blitzes. We send hurl a TON, but the guy has 8 sacks in this his 6th year. 8 sacks in 86 games. We run out tons and tons of talented DL all to similar results. In a traditional system I think JSK at mlb mo at sam and wild at will would be a very nice set up. They like wild more at mlb but even if he is back at 100% right away I think JSK has a better tool set to play mlb. Dont think its as simple as more man less zone/match zone. I think our core philosophy is fatally flawed. Especially in this modern cfl passing era when we will see some thing like 7 or more passers throw for 5k yards. In todays cfl, you can keep rolling up first downs at a steady pace.
