what a beaut of a pass from ray.

Im happy for his success. As I am for sergio. Kickers are a strange breed though. You never know if they would have worked out if they stayed, or if they would work out if they came back. I half expect medlock not to be back. He came out with the exact wrong attitude for a guy coming off the worst year in his career up here. Especially for a guy whose paid like a star skill position player. 3 teams in 7 years to boot. Its allways a good sign to see ex players saying good things about the franchise though. Personally not the guy Id want. Also dont think hed take the kind of money we will have to offer. I wonder what the challenge is going to be. beer pong?

And if we dont should we consider to pull a billy pavlopalus (pavlop..pavalop...pavlopanomamus?) on it?

The bomber GCs of my life time have been brought up. But ill throw this one in. 1994 grey cup. The BC lions were canadas team taking on Baltimore. Lou passaglia kicks a last second FG to keep the grey cup north of the 49th. Too many men was pretty great too. But for my money the best none blue GC was the 94.

Iirc it was floated back when he left oregon state. If he wanted to be up here, He would be imo. Idk how i feel about mos vs reilly. but the rust and out dating for reilly combined with the hard loss itd be for a team of mos guys to lose mos makes it hard to imagine it being an upgrade. Plus short of some insane meltdown I cant see our management canning mos mid season next year.
-
I swear every one league wide knows how great moe is, out side of the media that is. I know some other teams fans who love the guy. Chris randle gets a bit more love but still a fraction of what he deserves too.

It often seems that after too many years of a players coach, a change to a harder coach is welcomed by players. But then its not like it used to be. When coaches chose pads vs no pad practice, and at rare times some especially tough coaches instituted 2 a days mid season. All HCs now a days seem some variant of a players coach compared to the not soo distant past. Glad for mos and the organization. Been a long time since our HC would be considered for some thing like that.

No matter what in decision is the worst decision. You can win with countless different strategies, tactics, styles and systems. Weve seen bend but dont break, cover 0, 3-4, 4-3, spread and power systems all win GCs. Its about the right pieces to manage a system, high level teaching to execute it, and preparation to keep it working. The FG kick last year, and the fake this year were calls that raised a lot of ire. But at least they werent passive.

Great share. In his book "The score takes care of it self" he puts forth a great anecdote about prepping for a possible player strike by bringing in essentially a whole 2nd team of none NFLPA guys to teach the 9ers way of playing football, the playbook, etc. Preparation, for every possible out come is the difference between a team that makes the play offs, and a contender year in and year out. "Finding the winning edge" is even better. Though the stories in the score takes care of it self really punctuate the simple points extremely well. (bill walsh is to football nerds what bill james is to baseball) Great teams, and coaches dont get beaten by the breaks of the game. They take advantage of soo many previous plays that the little wax and wayne of luck doesnt hurt them. You also have to be prepared to get lucky. Atleast some what. It doesnt matter how poor a throw is or the ball is carried if you arent ready to take advantage.

Thats the truth, and if you can make a go of it at a good d1 school thats about as good as a HC job gets in all of sports. College kids are easier to coach in some ways then pros, security once youve built some thing is great, huge money, and a bigger impact on the roster. He could retire, if he wanted. I dont doubt hes made more money then every HC in the cfl right now. He could possibly still get on with a big d1 school, or could go to a mid tier d1 school and have a ton more flexibility. Even after lean years, teams like Nebraska have high expectations.

Huge CG to harris. Such a monster, and leader for the team. Im really happy for him. I wonder if this would have been the year for MO to win if he had stayed healthy... I feel like he would have won it (finally). I dont think that any one has been better the last 4 years then mo. Maybe as good but not better.

Hes a guy that If i was a desperate team Id take a shot on. Id rather him then collaros, or durant. WIth their age Id consider him to replace ray, or glenn should they retire (they should). If i was montreal Id be willing to risk 300k on him. Any one else Id want a discount And a steep one. Not only what they have done, what they can do. I would have taken either over denny and down on the WR depth chart this year. Basically any one not named adams or dressler. That offense was hot trash.

No, its an insult to people who get offended as a hobby. Thats not what a SJW is. Thats as much what a SJW is as antifa is anti facist. Cant really compare marvel tv shows to the movies. Its imo the best or tied for the best marvel tv show.

Its coming up seemingly a fist full a week. I think most people have long been accepting of the exploitative nature of hollywood/entertainment. Now this outrage culture has every case, allegation and assault ever popping up as news. Even by hollywood standards its sad whats going on. Knowing the sheer amount of stuff turned up, some thing or some things are going to be un true and possibly ruin some one, and worse the thought of what greater true horrors probably remain burried. I really dont like SJW/offended culture, and idk if any of this will actually result in justice or change.
-
I think they probably trade him for a modest return. Though its possible they could cut him if hes owed a high sum of money. Idk what his salary is, but I dont know if any one is gonna wanna give him 350k+ and give up assets to get him.

not bringing in any one = not trying to improve the spot. And no JSK wasnt reported to have failed at mlb in camp. Kknox and temple were.

Walters said they were able to do some deferring of money to this year due to using less of the cap space then suspected due to a lack of short injuries. That plus the heft of some of the deals that will be free agents means we wont be un able to make moves. Id say wed be in a similar position to last year, or maybe a little less cap space. Dont really want any part of collaros. Not at 100k. I imagine what fever gets will go to some one else in a similar spot. The guys id be interested in are fajardo from TO, and bridge from the riders. + a new development guy. Based on nothing but opinion, I think BC will go all in on james franklin. Buono more then any one else in the league knows how you ride or die with your starting QB. And how to spot a good one. I think jennings goes to montreal. And Durant takes a back up job like harris/ott or retires. I could see TO going hard after franklin too. Especially if he argos win the cup (retch) and ray retires. Or jumping in on jennings.

FItzgerald is gonna strap em on and play till the wheels fall off. That guy is incredible. No joke. He might be better then every NI wr weve had in the past 10 years rolled into one. I think the only way we would be able to do that is if bryant or medlock was downgraded to a much cheaper alternative.

For the first considerable portion of the season if hurl was in he was run blitzing or wasting space. Loffler up in the box to send hurl up the line was certainly the strategy used. We moved more and more away from it and rotated hurl out more and more. Walters talked in his post season presser that the need to rotate guys and essentially hide guys was wearing thin. That he wanted to get a core of 12 guys and let them play more. And most talked a good bit about needing to change things up on the D. It was talked about in the media a good bit when mos became more hands on in the D. And it showed on the field. Far more blitzs designed to get pressure, more pressure from our ends, and more exotic blitz packages. It seems that change will come to our D. Not in the form of coaches though. What our new scheme will be no one can say. But I would be surprised if it wasnt more mixed fronts, more blitzs that are better designed, and less designed to cover up a short few weaknesses.

JSK played mlb on passing downs before wild came back. Wil, sam, jack, mike doesnt matter if you cant tackle. Also our Use of hurl wasnt as a mlber. He virtually never played mid linebacker box area. We made no attempt to improve over hurl from last year to this year. And refused to play the best players we had at the positions. A lber who is used as a jack half the time, but doesnt get any pressure, and in any position (in a gap, scraping to the ball or peeling back) cant make a tackle isnt a Lber. Its just a horrible waste of a roster spot.

The better team in the play offs, is the one that wins. That simple. Respect is earned, class is learned. Its not a point of the rider fans earning our respect. That wont ever happen. Its a matter of us being better then what we point fingers at rather then dropping to that level.
-
Well, we didnt have to start him and we did find our LBer (jsk) If you listen to the presser its also pretty clear that hurl isnt walters guy, hes mos guy.

Ive had this crazy feeling TO would end up winning the cup since the bombers lost idk. An easier road? In theory yes. In practice no. See history of the cross over team and what happened to the riders. We didnt play well enough to win a play off game. The only thing that changes that is playing better.
-
Didnt we start 8 canadians with him a few times this year? Chungh, goosen, jfg, harris, thomas, hurl, westerman, and loffler were our starting NIs out of camp iirc.

Ya he would. Walters was talking about the FA frenzy in the post season presser. And I think hes bang on the money. Its gone on at such a rate, and with the previous increase in the cap feeding it, I think we are gonna bottom out. Teams just arent gonna have the cap space. I could see montreal and to a lesser extend hammy stripping down, freeing up space and making a couple moves But I dont think it will be a bonanza. From here moving forward, short of more significant cap increases I think we will see a choice of go to a bad team for a high sum or go to a contender for a low sum. In fact I wouldnt be surprised over the next few years to see the final vet waiver day become a much more important part of the season.
