  1. I dont think collaros is better then first half harris. or pre first injury harris. Over all Probably the best of the bunch. Talk about a group of QBs i would NOT want to resting a season on. Durrant, harris, ray and collaros. No wonder the west is leap years a head of the east right now.
  2. Thats a good point. And I think the way our front office seems to do it and to work with our coaching staff is about as good as you can hope for. Dunigan in calgary is a good example of it going poorly. He was really doing all the jobs him self, and stretched too thin. I still think he would be great as a coach. But doing all those full time jobs is insane.
  3. I want to say at one point don mathews was doing DC, gm and hc duties. I think HC and GM is too many hats for one person to do ideally. It does happen successfully, its the way buono prefers to do it. Back in the hay day of ritchie and the don they did it too. But i think it can allways been done better by 2 people. Some Co jobs are a bit different too. For instance a guy like AC called his own plays for a long time. IF you are the OC in a system like that, and the HC its not as big a deal. Some HCs micro manage play calls on one or both sides of the ball as well. If you wear those hats, you have to have a great support system around you of coaches, scouts, and front office types and do a great job of having those people do what you are weak at and dont have time for.
  4. Thats some thing you can often work out with coaching and reps. Blink used to be fumble prone too. https://stats.cfldb.ca/ is that what you were looking for?
  5. Yeah thats a good point. Maybe they will start allen go ni else where and rotate him and lafrance.
  6. The nfl used to (IDK if they still do or not) have inter squad TC games. With 2 pre season games id love to see this. That or a 3rd pre season game. I might be too picky but i think 2 isnt enough and 4 is too many. Hes a gooder. Arent the riders going NI rb though? I like allen, would be great to see him as a true feature back. Though that role is rarer and rarer. And the way the riders have used the run game I dont see any RB having a huge impact for them. More touches for jeremiah johnson in bc is scary. Especially as that OL seems to be improving.
  7. https://www.cfl.ca/2017/06/03/sanchez-bc-lions-will-best-secondary-2017/ Who will have the best secondary in the league, bc, calgary, or hamilton....
  8. https://sports.vice.com/en_ca/article/twisted-blister-rich-hill-and-baseballs-biggest-little-injury its a baseball wide issue. Heavy work load is a major contributing factor to them. Yes people who are pre disposed to them like sanchez seems to be obviously have more problems with them. But that, then work load. He had part of that finger nail removed to try and hedge the problem when he was tossing a fraction of the innings. A blister is caused by repetitive friction on the same spot. Higher work loads = higher friction. Not enough down time from last year to this year, also a factor. Sanchez in the pen would no doubt have significantly reduce issues with blisters. Its not worth giving up on him as a starter at this point ofc.
  9. The amount our DL has improved is massive. Both ends, nevis, interior depth and corney is only gonna get better with time and reps. If we dont have a top 2-3 quality DL in the league this year some thing has gone horribly wrong. While our LB core will probably be less talented, its better fit and use should be an over all upgrade too. Front 7 should be real good this year. Temple/knox/?? should look an awful lot better at MLB behind this DL then what we saw last year. * obviously we didnt add westerman, i mean now having 2 prominent rush ends.
  10. only way i see edmonton going 4-14 is if some thing really awful happens to reily. For the league, i hope it doesnt. calgary 14-4 bc 11-7 wpg 11-7 edm 11-7 sask 5-13 ott 10-8 ham 9-9 mtl 6-13 to 5-13 The east is really hard to peg. MTL and TO have made some good moves. But are glass cannons at best with their qbs. And still shaky over all. One of these teams will probably make the play offs next year and have a really good season. But i dont think it happens this year. Ott im really underwhelmed with. Another glass cannon qb. Lost a bit more then they gained in the off season imop. Hamm is in a similar boat. If i had to pick one team as most likely to disappoint its them. I dont see them getting better, but i do see them getting older, longer in the tooth, and more fragile. Some day calgary will fall on hard times. Idk if it will be in my life time at this rate though. If jennings matures more in BC and becomes more steady and reliable he could push into the elite qb territory. Buono gonna buono. I expect we will be more consistent this year. Not soo streaky, more hard fought ground out wins. Edm could be the riser in the west. The secondary is getting better and better. The riders will have some fire works with glenn and all those WRs. But a line that has no consistency built up and still a weak D, probably among the worst in the league again this year. I think itll be new management for the riders this year. With all those Wrs and some good young OL though a good young qb could turn the fortunes of that franchise around in a hurry.
  11. Certainly one of the biggest holes on our team. But one of the least important as well. Its not how i wish things were. I wish we had a 1k a year ni wr and 4 impact imp wrs. We have ni flexibility, for instance if an OL goes down its a pretty good chance a NI steps in. If a DL goes down, a NI goes in. Hurl is a threat to steal back the mlb job. The amount we use RBs if we had to go half a game with normand i wouldnt lose sleep. Harris is a plus performer no doubt. But we go away from the run for long periods as is and hes left blocking. At this point im hoping one of our NI wrs can step up and be good jfg quality as a back up. But im not holding my breath on it. And im certainly not holding my breath at this point on us having a 1k ni wr in the near future.
  12. Sheppard showed very, very little. I did like mayo as well. Jace had like 2 drops and went from a prime target to forgotten in the offensive transition period of time. He had more good catches then davis and mayo had combines catches last year. And less drops then a bunch of guys for us. Not to mention he blocked. I wouldnt say he had easy drops either. very few easy catches in the un settled offense we had even a while after he was gone. A lot of people see bad drops, and 100% miss a herculean effort to get to a position to make a play on a poor pass, or a pass not intended for them.
  13. finger injuries like his this year are very common with a young pitcher going from throwing more pitches in a year then they have in several years. Iirc he was close to all his pro innings tossed last year alone. Especially with his hard breaking stuff. These guys still do a ton of maintenance innings between seasons, and pile on the WBC.
  14. Yeah. I wish they had shut down sanchez properly last year. those 3 at 100% a top our rotation is a huge difference maker.
  15. Suddenly every one is mashing. No deficit is too great when you can pile up the runs in streaks like this. What id do for us to have pitching get this hot...
  16. Or start a FB like normand at wr. Cant do worse then kohlert did last year catching the ball, and atleast he can knock the snot out of some defenders blocking for dressler. Like a bob probert or tiger williams for our wrs.
  17. To be fair, jace davis looked like the best of our wrs during the worst of our offense. I think he got a bad shake.
  18. haha nailed it. Yeah. Dream come true would be bomber coverage going over to 1290, and bob going with the blue.
  19. Its like some thing from better call saul
  20. Early on the roc sure seems to be the tc mvp. I tend to think hes more then just a tc star though. This team has shown it can really scout DBs. Hes gonna make for some hard decisions. Though he could easily start out as the extra DB and a teamer. https://www.bluebombers.com/2017/05/30/training-camp-day-3-room-grow/ Didnt see this posted yet. Gotta love the mind set of kendall roberson. Its hard to imagine us losing those close fought games that come down to character, toughness and determination.
  21. call 1 800 267 2001 alarm force!
  22. Every time i listen i hear the same places advertising as when i was a kid. A B A L O N AAABAAALLOOOOOON.
  23. he is one of the better green guys. It pre season though and every one kicks his team. A position we are all too familiar with
  24. The interview portion sure is good. Hearing danny mac talk about the 94 GC and how they were all canadians that day and none of them wanted to give up a grey cup to the us, man amazing stuff.
