  1. More likely we would protect him and lose some one like trent corney or jake thomas.
  2. I do not believe halifax can or will support a franchise long term. I love the east coast and would love nothing more then to see a team well supported there. I also do not think that expansion is a great idea for the league at this time. This is far more of valley time then a peak. Weve seen what poorly timed and executed expansion has done in the past. Look at the amount of tries it has taken for a team to stick in ottawa. And are they soo stabile that they are free of danger for the next 5 years? Are the argos? Talent level in the league is in a good spot. While i believe you can develop the american core in a year or two, you cant with the NIs. And the draft while heavily improved over what it was 10 years ago, is not deep enough. Take one starting NI off each team. Then look at the bottom starting NI in terms of talent. And the then thinned out back ups. Qb wise it wouldnt be a terrible time imo. We are at a tipping point in terms of the age of qbs. Glenn and Durant are in their late stages. A few back ups around the league show promise. Teams would have the option of going young, or trying to cling to an old vet that gives them a chance now. A strong base of a great owner and fans, depth QB talent, and depth of NI talent are the keys to making an expansion work. Right now, the chance that a halifax team would be operating and healthy in 5 years are more negative then any thing. And the blow to the league of having to close their doors, as well as limp them through the time before shut down are worse then what we would gain if it worked out.
  3. Also Bridge. He looks like a legit heir appearant. 3rd highest in points for 2nd lowest in points against. They really run and gun teams to death while doing what our defense is supposed to do in theory.
  4. It virtually allways ends like this. Its either this or they retire too young.
  5. Theyve turned it around. hes still a pox on the league.
  6. Johnson is a beast. But the thoughts of rainy getting significant carries against our gap missing front 7 is scary. I think he would be the perfect compliment to harris in the 2 back set.
  7. To be fair, I remember buck getting rekt while his inept OL looked on. As well him getting rocked many times when he should have slid. Rb is probably the most plug and play position. Not many RBs at all are gonna stone wall a rush end or lber clean on a blitz 1v1. The huge majority are varying levels of speed bumps. Many wrs fall into that classification when it comes to blocking as well. More and more we see a WR chip block from a trips bunch type formations.
  8. Yeah not really any cfl fa that is a big improvement imo. Could be some one cut from an nfl camp that would be a good stop gap back up. But I like our depth when healthy. Is anthony coombs a pending FA? Getting him and nic demski would be huge in the off season. NI starters and rotational guys are what we need mostly now. And that isnt some thing we are likely to score in a huge splash, or mid season.
  9. Wasnt MBT on that same deal? I think a futures is like a team option. (not sure) so that if we want him back and dont find any one we like more we can have him back.
  10. We could. We had a fantastic RB battle in TC. They arent. They added one the PR, but that could well be just part of the parade of air lifts we are evaluating. What that says to me is they dont expect flanders to be out long. To replace flanders, we'd need a back that fits his role. catching, lining up at multiple positions, running, being a decoy, blocking etc. Thats much harder then finding a one dimensional rusher.
  11. We saw a bunch of these last near that didnt even get to camp. Id say its a pre camp try out, but that they expect to see a reason to bring guys back in a hurry. Come in and relax, have the wrong mind set, or be a bit off physically and its a real quick hook.
  12. Was excited when i saw this. And a bit surprised. Idk why nelson is not sitting on an nfl teams PR developing. Despite his moving around and general lack of snaps, he is an incredibly polished qb. Looks off wrs, phenomenal pre snap / post snap read and adjust guy. Great footwork, quick release, arm strength for any pass, and his touch, ball placement and accuracy are fantastic. Most of his work has been out of the gun / pistol. A lot of the QBs weve brought in have been raw tools guys who came out early. Tough athletic qbs that needed plenty of work. Nelson is more like Mcleod bethel thompson, but drastically younger. With enough experience and polish to boot. Its soo soon for his move up here, I wonder if this is a deal with an agreement to waive him to try and catch on with an NFL camp next summer. What is his negative? The arrest is big. A bit more play time would have been helpful. Small school and none nfl style "Pro" offense also hurt him. That said they could rename the big sky conference, "cflers of tomorrw". Prepare your self, this is the LOTR equivalent of high light clip length. 40+ and 36+ minutes.
  13. Imo, this is a move based on talent level. Seeing if he can continue to refocus and show the raw talent that made him a 5 star prospect.
  14. Him and de niro. They must have managed the money they made some kind of awful.
  15. Yeah. I think we had the same starting OL with only one injury after week 4 of last year. Idr who but i think newfie came in late last year. Long term, we need better starting NI. Which with our young guys and quality of our NI scouting im not worried about. Short term, we need to do a ton more hurry up. Yes teams fake injuries at time to derail our hurry up. If we did nearly full time hurry up they couldnt fake an injury every play. The offense runs dramatically better in the hurry up. Nichols calling his own plays would go a long ways as well.
  16. Yeah. Though id rather not see newfie start. Couture is a bit undersized still. And Spooner probably too raw. But that is the future fix for our ratio issue imo. Id rather see foketi in then newfie though. If this injury is bad. A bit on leadership, a bit on coaching. These things will happen though. In that situation nichols didnt really have time to audible and adjust.
  17. The in season turn around hamilton, toronto, and the riders have seen this year is incredible.

Last time it had some intriguing names, but not a lot of substance, and a bunch of injuries. This is looking like an murders row of a card. Like one of the best TV events in years. Im excited af for this card. Darren till said he was gonna ktfo cerrone. And he did it. I hope this is the end of cerrones run at WW. He looked defeated early, and nothing like the cowboy that is soo beloved by mma fans. Back to LW please.
  19. Nichols wasnt really pressured much tnite. 0 sacks by the vaunted toronto pass rush. Givens and washington combined for solid "secondary receiver". We lost adams and gained dressler. So i dont see such a great shift in the quality of wr. Our over all talent at wr was certainly up from starting 2 nis.
  20. Thats a lot of love for offense. Idk they drove the ball late. But going into that last possesion they had some 240 yards total and some brutal 2 and outs. The 4th Q 2 and out that put the D right back on the field after a 5+ minute drive by TO was really what killed our chances of winning. Ricky ray alone put up 130+ yards more then our offense did. A pretty miserable total team loss.
  21. Another year and the raptors are off to a good start. If you like basketball, give a game a watch. Rookie OG anunoby is some thing else. Hes on limited action and not 100% from his off season recovery but man he is gonna be some thing special.
  22. Now why wasnt the illegal challenge a delay of game penalty. And why wasnt the supplex on dressler and ejection.
  23. Givens looked fantastic in few touches. Like the way he runs with the ball. Hes got speed, and hes got a nose for the first down marker.
  24. I think he will actually. Mos and slowly been creeping in more and more on what the D does. I think he, walters and wade will sit down in the post season and immediately look to who they can bring in at DC.
  25. The one where he went for the hit not the wrap n tackle.
