  1. Bring back the swac attack so he can get the record for sacks
  2. I think the hope would be that corney continues to improve. Another body off the edge would be nice though. At this point I imagine it would be a late pick up cast off from some one elses camp.
  3. It is if u throw it to them as a zone buster. But you can use that spot to stretch the D, run off dbs with rub plays for other guys etc. It is a spot defenses traditionally sag on, which opens up blocking miss matches. Ottawa had 4 wrs with more receiving yards then our highest. Its not a thing of finding an elite ni wr, its improving a weak spot. Currently that is our softest NI spot.
  4. yeah iirc he picked one off and tipped like 2-3 more, it was a really good look but then we got away from it.
  5. Cole made some great plays both rushing, and dropping back. Down the stretch i dont thin either was particularly good though. Chances seem pretty slim that they make the roster barring injury imop.
  6. it wasnt attitude, there were claims he wasnt committed to football. I cant imagine that being true and us drafting him especially high. http://www.bluebombers.com/2017/05/07/gm-kyle-walters-on-the-2017-draft-class/
  7. what?! sweet christmas! he was 265 in college. I saw walters say he was ballooned up at the regional but when he said they worked him out afterwards he was down in weight and looking a lot more like the player they saw in college...
  8. Pretty much. Big, black guy, dark clothes. And then the racial slur game against nebraska. A great guy but had to deal with some real tough moments off the field. And handled em very well.
  9. Generic win totals isnt what makes a qb elite. If you carry a team to wins sure can. But weve seen average qbs on teams rack up a lot of wins thanks to elite level D. Sustaining elite level qb play makes you an elite QB. If you have to ask, or make a case for a QB being elite, they almost certainly are not. Every fan in the league knows reily, and BLM are elite right now. Early 2ks, same with AC and khari. Then ray and AC. Etc. Does nichols have the potential to be an elite qb? I think any qb thats a bonafide starter in the league has that potential. Its a question of do they have the ability to realize that potential. The system we run isnt keen on any qb maximizing potential imop. But we do have the supporting cast on offense. I dont think nichols chance of continuing to evolve and taking that next step is terribly high. But it certainly exists. I think his performance floor with what we have is pretty high. Here is hoping that either im wrong, or nichols defies those odds and takes the next step this year. I think the passive systems on both side of the ball will be limiting factors to how high we can rise. I think our run stopping will be worlds better this year. We can now roll out 2 huge bodies at DT and really clog up the middle. Instead of having 2 lbers playing out of position we should have a ton more fit now. I think the difference between last years DL and this years is 1, size up the middle which is good for shutting down the run. 2 a dt that can play nose. 3 a pair of proven cfl rush ends. And finally depth. I do wish we had 1 big body lber we could put in on run plays to stuff the middle though.
  10. Thats how we got the 4th rounder we used on the jon ryan clone.
  11. good stuff, marouf is an end not a tackle though. He has the size that he could be a guy who moves in side in a pinch but its not his position currently. there is actually a video on YT of it, a body cam from one of the officers.
  12. hes got to be among the best young men in this draft. And well spoken too. Cant wait to see his TC rookie posts on BB.com. ( i assume he will be the one doing it this year)
  13. jones and co could really take a lesson from that one lol.
  14. that was also a free pick though, for moving down from 6 to 8 and they still got grey. Agree with the teams in the top 6 for sure. Walters sure was on the money with saying most teams were gonna have boards very different from each other, and most would come away saying they got their guys. Montreal and TO left them self in tough spots with their trades. Still got some interesting picks though. Montreal i think actually pulled out a nice draft considering that. Id put Edm 1 Their top 3 could easily all be on the roster and have varying impact as rookies. bc 2, they had holes, they filled holes. With top tier talent in those positions. buono gonna buono. wpg 3. Top to bottom good picks that could have an impact. Expert manipulation to trade down, get their guy and still add value. If gray signs at some point, its hard to imagine our draft being any thing but no1 down the road. ssk 4 Judge and bladek are big pick ups for them. Auclair gives them futures. Picton gives em a good local developmental wr. Stocked up on big bodies which for them ran short the previous year. Auclair and judge are gambles. If judge sticks even for a year or two it cripples their value from this draft. Riders need ni help right away. Auclair is a gamble on a gamble too with his fit. Calgary 5. I like colling and i like his fit in calgary. Same with litre. Litre backing up messam is scary. laurensse with a late pick is a steal. Montreal 6. Shot them self in the foot trading away their first but got a nice volume of good young talent with up side. ^ I think all those teams won at the draft. Some will look a lot better or worse a year or three down the road. But what they had, what was available, and what they got is b+ stuff at worst. Didnt really like ottawas draft, though i did like the gamble on ankou. Hamm went off the board early but still got schram and scarfone. Like woodson and foster for TO, thought they went too soon on woods, especially over bladek and spooner.
  15. if you play at a high level basketball hardly has down time.
  16. im sure thats cus he went 1st over all.
  17. The push on couture and neufeld from this draft is huge. Hopefully it leads to a trade for newfie, and the best out of couture. Idk if we have had this much access to the amount of raw ni talent on the ol in my life time. Really exciting. Was hoping for a higher guy too, but they went just a lil too high. I like henry as an under sized chip on his shoulder type. Jfg has a big chance to step up this year. agree on the rbs. i was surprised augustine fell out of the draft. Dont feel like it was a position to adress though. Conteh, another local guy is gonna be nice. Has that upside we look for too.
  18. colling is similar weight to ekakitie but is 4 inches taller. If any one needs to cut weight its ekakitie. (i dont think its an issue though) More competition a lot less action. Spooner has a chance to be the best ol out of this group. But a better chance not to be in the league in 2 years then the rest in his range. Conteh is a good tweener, and good depth + up side. not like loffler though. That pick is probably the most ballsy of the draft. Amazing prospect at kicker/punter. Having him punt so medlock doesnt have to is ideal. Feels like we passed on guys with potential at other positions. But its got tons of up side. The point has just sailed over your head. There isnt a clear or large divide between the guys at the top of each position. There is no clear cut best dt, wr, ol etc. This draft is muddy as it gets. When did floyd become a pro scout / gm?
  19. Bc got the best wr, best dl, a top 3 ol, and herdman who you said is a starter right?
  20. IF you want to pick and choose different standards you could argue that none of those are true. Colling is more pro ready, luke might be too considering he fits the size profile. And has played a yard off the ball. whats the fly north rate of signed bonus guys? Spooner is top 3, if you go by potential. certainly not pro ready. How does conteh seem like loffler? He wasnt a impact player who had injuries. Hes a guy with limited experience. Also doesnt have lofflers size or athletic ability. The picks are interesting, tons and tons of upside. Potential wise, it could be one of the best drafts. But potential doesnt win football games.
  21. riders sickeningly did well. but right now id say the lions did better, and the eskes the best.
  22. Best dt? in the top tier for ones available, not decidedly better tho. best not available? no. best ol available? also no. Best db? no. We probably drafted the most guys who could start in the cfl if they reach their potential.
  23. by not wanting him probably. like the 58 time prior he was passed on. I like marouf late. thera likes to block maybe he has teams potential. Its an up side kind of draft.
