  1. Yeah i was looking at stats between the two teams are really close. Should be a down to the wire game. Watch it be a blow out xD. Them not having ray, us having a banged up wr core, ol, and dbs. Still like our chances.
  2. Eh most teams play 12-13 games including out of conference. Its 9 games in conference. Some small teams play even more. They tend to be more active in TC with inter team scrimmages n stuff. The bigger deal i think is short weeks. Some times having 4-5 days between games vs 7 can make even a 6 game stretch feel much longer. Especially compounded with the size of the field and all the running done up here. If they were in the nfl, theyd have 4 pre season games and 16 regular season games. As opposed to here they get 2 preseason and 18 regular season. The quicker turn over on most series is a factor too.
  3. I instantly feel gratified. And Im not even a big GnR fan. Sorry reading that i heard that song in my head when i read patience.
  4. You are correct in that I am not any where near as acustomed to the need to flex players around the ratio. As a positional player/coach my in game role was up in the box observing patterns, helping track plays, etc. You cant teach guys mid game, too much advice while playing or between series is either lost before/between the ears or brings on a shut down. I often marvel watching some coaches and the way they shuffle guys for various packages all while balancing the ratio/di rules. (not sask) Its not some thing often appreciated but incredible none the less. Adequate doesnt win a lot of games. Good is the enemy of great, idk what adequate is the enemy of when we are putting DL in on OL and having to change his numbers to go both ways in multiple games, we arent ok with that depth. Can you imagine what would happen if the injury bug bit our OL as bad as it has our WRs or DBs? Good lord we'd have garret waggoner, trent corney, on D with jake playing boths ways. Im all in favor of positional rotations, especially on the DL, where most of the time you have smaller guys smashing up against bigger guys and more of them. But we arent carrying more DL either. We are carrying more Lbs. Who arent rotating in much at all.
  5. ah derp i see it now. You are correct i do not see imp back ups, or more then 7 ol. You are correct I apologize. That site seems pretty good its a nice resource. From the first and last week, that does however leave us one ol short of what the majority of teams are running, and with a similar deficit at DT who back up the back ups. That leaves us down 2-3 big bodies compared to most teams. Carrying a DI there may be far from traditional, but when your spread thin and lack production Im all in favor of trying un traditional. Having so few bigs is as un traditional. Only over all we havent had great production from DT or OL. And other teams arent threatening to and putting DL on ol.
  6. The small un seen moments that lead to big game changing plays. Ie a guard pulling and sealing the edge on a screen pass that scores a td.
  7. Tbh i worry as much or more about young qbs coming in and tearing us up. Seen too many back ups come in and win games on us in the last 15 or so years. If we can get pressure on him, I think we will be in a great position. As good as our secondary has been despite being banged up I never wanna see a young qb have time in the pocket to get comfortable. I think the game will be decided by Top and first downs. If we can drive the field regularly, even not scoring a ton of points but keeping our D off the field and preventing TO from getting a rhythm we have a great chance.
  8. I think it happens more then one might think, with a vet going to a 1game injured list under a fake injury.
  9. http://www.winnipegsun.com/2013/05/06/bombers-take-de-andy-mulumba-in-cfl-draft Kind of an interesting read in retrospect. That will only help the Bombers in the long run, even if Mack isn’t the one running that show when it occurs. Mack is under intense pressure to make the playoffs this season, yet he didn’t go for the sure thing. That also says he believes in the players he already has, which makes sense because he already has seven Canadian starters and didn’t need to find a starter in this year’s draft http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/football/bombers/Bombers-to-take-Mulumba-in-CFL-draft-206279871.html
  10. I dont see a full game roster on that site. It has the starters, and the 2 guys sent to the in active roster. No full roster. In week 1 out of 16 available in active roster spots only 4 were ol. (the earlier point, not yours, that an average of half would be needed to bring the numbers down) I was coaching junior football (wrs) and playing rb/lb just a few years ago. Ive had personal responsibility and an injury that stops me from being more involved in football, but then I dont know that youd have any way to distinguish actual football knowledge from some one who sits around and plays madden or watches games like an average fan. Mike generally has very good insight into comings and goings of the team. Considering the amount of fake insiders the fan forums for this team has seen over the years thats pretty bloody good. But i havent seen any thing that makes me go, he really understands the finite portions and nuances of the game more then most. For what its worth i dont see him bullying any one. If he disagrees with some thing he sees he says so. And he tends to post logic based opinions backed by facts. Things on here got pretty toxic before the win streak with some kind of crazy claims from people not understanding the buzz words they threw around, or just beleaguering the team/players to any and all end.
  11. I dont see a full game roster on that. Starters, reserve and then stats. week one bc cgy, no ol out of the 4 spots. I see one of the 4 in edm vs ott is an ol. i see 1 ol out of the 4 in our game with mtl being an ol. And 2 out of Hamm to. So out of 16 spots i see 4 ol. First week prolly isnt ideal to look at for that. Looked at week 7 i saw 2 in edm v ott. o in ssk v ca. 0 in ham vs wpg. The bc and mtl one is just the stat sheet.
  12. ok im lookin, not gonna down load all of em but ill look at first week.
  13. Thats true, however at the top of the draft in the modern era you should find some one who can play for you at some point. Every draft pick is allways a gamble, adding risk when your risk averse is my issue.
  14. where on that site are you finding the game day 2 man list. All i see is game roster that are listed as un offical, whole rosters at the time of the game including IRs pr and inactive.
  15. yep thought he said bilukidi. Id say the point is fair in terms of the higher pick on mulumba. Though a team in a position like us at that point taking risks with NI depth when we had so little is still a gamble i dont care for. In that position I think you have to take guys that will play for you. But that is merely a judgement call.
  16. allready posted the none active roster transactions page. If i go through and give you a tally showing other wise will you?
  17. There i searched it and found the transaction listing. 1 ol changing spots with another, and one other ol. All theres are not ol. You can dig through more then i showed if you care to and post the results if you like. But glancing down a few weeks, ol do not appear there more then any other position. Wr seems to be the most common. But thats at a glance.

  19. You say that but offer nothing to back it up. No facts or history. Do you have any roster listings that show ol constantly on every teams 2 man res? Or any thing else that expresses the point? Or just cus you say so?
  20. he wasnt considered an extreme longshot to get more then a cup of coffee down there. Drafted guys in the nfl tend to stick for atleast a couple years. Especially when they are big and very athletic. Hes the type of guy nfl teams love to have at end on a 3-4, or in side a 4-3. Guy gets amazing push and really explodes off the line. *got bilukidi and mulumba crossed.
  21. They would be carrying more linemen if they had more healthy. Mtl has less banged up ol then us. Every one has the same or more. Some teams 4-6 ol. I didnt mean rotating with westerman. I mean they were rotating and backing each other up while we tried to flesh out a starter. Coles only been here for 3 games iirc 1 start. Maybe 2. Im all for rotating DEs, and corney in general gives us a great deal of ability to do that with out hurting the ratio.
  22. The point your missing is that several teams have a ton of guys on the IR.
  23. Some perspective, other lbs weve dressed this year. Briggs 8 games 1 tackle. 0 st tackles. 18 games the last 2 years on teams, 11 tackles on sts each year. 4 and 2 tackles on d. tony burnett 8 games 1 defensive tackle 5 teams tackles. shane gauthier 2 games 0 defensive tackles 1 st tackle. hurl 5 games 0 defensive tackles 3 sts tackles. kyle knox 2 games 0 defensive tackles 2 st tackles. knox and burnett have been DIs obviously hurl and gauthier ni. None of these guys are getting Lber reps unless some one goes down. And thats for 2 spots. Mo is backed up by waggoner and a DB would go into that spot not one of these guys. The rotating ends weve had with greene and formerly hubbard have spent time at DI as well. To great, game changing production as well.
  24. bond was banged up out of tc. but cant say when he got healthy. After a couple weeks into the year thats atleast 1 spot for most of the season. After bond we had mcduffie in the same spot. weve had a dt take snaps on the ol this year. We were lucky a couple times OL have gone down and missed only a series. we are 1 injury thats more then minor away from having no back up ol. every team is not scratching 2 ol every game though. Point is, we are under achieving in the trenches as is. On top of that we have the least depth. In terms of quality and quantity except for maybe the riders. Dis arent on the field the whole time they play situational and on teams. where we have had lbers at TE spot on goal line / short yardage package we would have an ol. Same with blocking on kicks and punts. Have you seen mcduffie on the field the entire game?
  25. Really? how many other teams have put a DT on the ol this year? You provided an opinion which your entitled to, but I provided stats. Do you have any facts to your point? Least in the league with 2 other teams. 1 has a massive amount of injuries the other has 1 win. the best team in the league, has the most. No thats not in the majority. Especially not the majority of teams sitting in play off spots. Couture hasnt looked great or bad. Id agree hes had some flashes not nothing stellar. He hasnt looked terrible. But his glimpses have been far to few and far between. Do i want him to start? ideally no. Him or neufeld? id take him. Him keeping or goossen would be tough tbh. The change would be corney to the majority of reps at DE. Thats not a bad thing at all honestly. he needs snaps to develop. There is also a lot of assumption here that an extra ol has no value if no one gets hurt, and that isnt the case. The massive amount of lbs we have hurting the depth we carry else where isnt just OL. DT, wr, and rb are thin aswell. We are banged up at wr, but we are one injury at ni wr from having a guy whose caught 3 passes in 18 games from starting. And have been close to putting dbs or fbs out at wr this year.
