I understand the logic here, at the same time walby similarly attached him self to some very underwhelming OL like this in the past. That said The issue with him isnt based on talent. Its consistency, health, and execution. He could back up for another 5-8 years in the league for sure. But if he is ever gonna be more then a below average starter and above average back up hes gotta figure it out quick fast and in a hurry. * some of the guys he has made similar claims about include Jermese jones, and benedict ibisi. Particularly he was very high on jones, they did a pretty good segment on the two and how much they had talked about playing the line.

Randle is a great player. He could very easily end up a HOFer and in the all time great bomber db discussion. Bond is the best OL weve dug up since garrick jones, and even better then him. With the difference in rules between Dbs and OL, I think a single great OL can have a great impact then a DB. Bond is a bit younger, and as rare as his ability is finding that in a man his size is even rarer. Guard is generally consider easier to play then tackle, especially blind side tackle. But playing guard especially in the cfl at such a huge stature is also hard. I dont doubt he could play out side and be great at it. Make it a healthy Mo vs bond or randle vs hardrick and I think you have a very close call.

Thats kind of the nature of reffing. Its like playing OL. 90% of the time you do some thing good or get it done right no one notices. The times you get it wrong or its close, every one notices. The PI rules as they are make our refs look bad. The inconsistency in more severe penalties (stuff that get fines and suspensions) is my biggest problem with the refs.Even that has a lot to do with the league though.

Happy feet can refer to a few things. Some qbs, younger and less experienced guys just need more coaching and training with their foot work. Its also some thing qbs go through some times when going from shotgun to under centre systems and vice versa. Field type can do it too. Going from natural grass to turf or worse the old astro turf can make it really hard on some guys. The foot steps syndrome is some thing else. Thats a mental issue, which is much harder to fix. Some times and in some guys it cant be fixed. What can and cant be fixed is also heavily case sensitive. Some guys naturally are resistant to being taught, others struggle with learning mental/physical aspects, and some are just too used to doing it a certain way. If a guy has had good mechanics in his footwork, and been mentally sound in the pocket, isnt un coachable in general and still not too seasoned you may be able to fix shell shock. A gritty qb whose spent a lot of time with bad OLs may seem a bit un settled in the pocket if he suddenly has a good OL. But a good qb will be able to settle down. Qbs face tons of pressure, both inside and out side them self. 2/3 minute drills, late close games, over time, rivalry games etc. Any qb who makes it to the pro level has at some point shown an ability to recover from hard ship and settle down. Imo, if you have or end up with a qb like this (willy/collaros etc) the only way to know is to put them behind a good line and see if they can settle back down. You will obviously have a better idea case by case the more you know about a specific qb. In general I fully believe its possible. That said, if you do not have a much better OL to protect that battered QB, I dont think putting them behind a bad ol has any chance at all of fixing things. I consider shell shock like a concussion. Its cumulative, and you have to be real careful in bring em back. Many athletes have found huge success at the highest levels only to fall apart mentally long before their physical peak and finish their career much earlier then they would have other wise. Its why sports psychology is a billion dollar industry. This is a good point. When nichols has struggled, especially earlier in his career and in college his throwing motion would lengthen and he'd wind up. When hes relaxed and at his best he just slings it. Dunigan is a guy who over came shellshock imo. Though hes the tough SoaB type so its not surprising.

Quality of performance on the field is not allways directly related to positional coaching, you can also have a guy whose a good positional coach but a poor fit.
-
Im worried about the potential out come of having bob sapp and gabi get too close together. GL tapping to strikes against a bear. They operate on the palhares fight to the death (of your career) rules.
-
Assuming poop doesnt get an NFL deal that would be formidable to say the least. The best interior on the DL weve had since brown and fortney probably. I do think thatd be the move. Also westerman coming back to starting on the edge. The end is gonna be real interesting. Ogopogo was a late season monster, and jeffcoat is a beast too.

Pretty different cases. Manziel isnt even at the ray rice level. And art briles? Cmon hes on bill cosbys level of awful. Its not totally reasonable to make sure cfl and domestic violence never appear in a head line. Its not reasonable to do in any sport, or line of work. You can be heavy handed with repeat DV offenders (of which manziel is not) but you can not prevent it from happening. what does sex crimes have to do with manziel? Imo I dont see a sex crime reckoning involving the cfl. If any thing ive allways heard players have a tough time dating or more up here. Gigantic culture shock.

Imo spooner as a rookie was about a year behind suhk chung (as a rookie). So if his off season and camp goes well He could be a guy who is a starts to develop into a good starter type. But it could still easily be a coin flip if he ever plays a regular season game for us. Thats just the nature of NIs. Thats the darned truth. Idk how far back youd have to go to find the last time we had a NI developmental wr who was better.

No kidding. She cuts from a huge weight. But still. Even jonny hendricks shakes his head at that. I could see rizin working towards that. But keep in mind she looks like a poor mans bob sapp against 50+ year old women who have been out of fighting for years while walking in like 50 lbs heavier. What guy could they toss in against her? Mighty mouse?

QFT. Idk why it took soo long to get to this point. I really dont. A TON of guys have come into the league with worse rap sheets. Manziel is ofc a lot younger then vince young. But im not a believer. He has a small chance to become a matt dunigan type guy. Maybe even doug flutie. The chances he full fills that potential is tiny though imo. Hes a raw play maker, and in college was great at making things happen. But his tool set just isnt well set up for the cfl (as a passer), Id rather have flowers then manziel. Ive allways been fond of a dual threat QB as the no 3, A development guy, one you can use in packages, holding, short yardage etc. And if you end up down to the no3 string qb, A dual threat qb gives a higher floor level for performance.

So gabi garcia is supposed to fight another old lady. A former JJ world champ, aged 53. Who hasnt fought in 17 years. Problem is, gabi garcia missed weight. Allegedly by over 26 pounds. Though gabi claims it was by just 8.8 lbs. Despite all this the fight has not yet been cancelled. Cus japan. https://www.mmafighting.com/2017/12/28/16825734/gabi-garcia-badly-misses-weight-rizin-fight-with-53-year-old-shinobu-kandori Im ready for MMA to move on from freak show exhibits. I really am. I know japan never will, they love stuff like this. But I hope in the future we see bellator and especially the ufc move away from silly stuff.
-
Pretty much. Though last year we heard some guys would be back that did not come back, I would be shocked if spooner wasnt in camp. Couture is under sized for tackle, moving him to guard isnt a good idea. The more likely move if we wanted to get him in would be hardrick to bonds guard spot and couture to RT. I could see foketi sliding in at guard, though Id rather go NI to fill bonds spot. Its hard to remember none lean time on the OL other then what we have built now.

A happy hoho to every one, even the green guys.

I have a book about lombardi and that era on my list to get to. Should prove interesting. Kind of low on good football looks left to read. In the past 10 years plenty of good runners have shown up in the ncaa. Flowers is maybe the most dangerous since vick him self. That guy with the width and spread of the field up here could be nearly un stoppable running. The big difference between flowers and countless dual threat QBs who drew little interest is he has a strong arm. Also being a 3 year starter helps. If he measures up 5'10 and under his chances goes way up of being in the cfl sooner rather then later. Short of coming out much shorter then hes listed he will get a few nfl TC/PR looks. Just too dynamic and rare combination of skills. Id rather have a guy who runs like him and has the accuracy / touch and cerebral nature, is a shade short and doesnt have the cannon. If a guy like that can throw with strong accuracy, especially on the roll out you cant really defend it. I wish he had spent time with chip kelly in a system like oregon used to run under him.

Vince McMahon considers move to bring back the XFL

7 on 7 would be interesting too. I think thatd be about as many players as id want to see though. -
Its the reporting groups at the ground level that are un trustworthy though.

and kenton keith / corey holmes better then blink. BUT HIS YPC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Collaros has a case of the willys imo. Qb production around the league is sky high, and yet now more then ever half the teams have a guy i wouldnt touch with a 10 foot clown pole. Im not gonna say who it was, Ill just say its R. pedersen no no no thats too obvious. Rod P.

We saw mixed results at various times. At times we struggled to rush the passer. Then we did not. DL talent is the best and deepest in the league. We struggled with Lbers, but then knox turned it up to 11. Wild is in the mix and MO is in our prayers to return to form. Hurl is the issue in the LB core, that and our D system. Db, we need more quality bodies. Over all thats probably the position weve scouted the best in this regime. Still think we let go of superior players though, so it doesnt matter if we bring the guys in only to sit/cut em. ol, rb we are pretty strong at. qb, I think we know the guys who will be in camp next year one way or another. Wr is like DB, but a bit brighter. if dressler and adams play a full season each no one will talk about a need for wrs. Weve also had talent at wr but lets not rehash all that again. Similar situation to DB. though Im excited to see givens in a full camp. I would love to see a legit no1 wr come in to turn our core into one of the best. But thats almost certainly some thing thatd come from the cfl FA, or a guy we have stepping up.

Vince McMahon considers move to bring back the XFL
wbbfan replied to wbbfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Put em in laser tag type gear that can light up like a christmas tree if they get touched. Have it be 6 on 6. enough for Enough to run power, option and spread offenses. As well as zone and zone blitzes. 3 downs, play both ways with roster room for maybe 3-4 subs. Play in the early spring, maybe on AFL style small fields. -
Thanks and good idea. Yeah it is, some great stories in it. The qb whisperer - Bruce Arians. HC of the cardinals, former OC/qb coach of peyton manning, andrew luck, carson palmer (current) and ben roethlisberger, Worked for a short stint under bear bryant, one of the all time great ncaa HCs. You come for the football, but stay for the great personal stories. The score takes care of it self - bill walsh. Taken to the point of compilation and first revision then shelved while walsh returned to football. He passed away, and walshs son helped with finishing the book. This book is more leadership, teaching, and building oriented then strictly football. Its like the 5 rings or the art of war. But based in football and a more modern era. It gets repetitive but the insight, stories, and lil nuggets make it well worth while. Finding the winning edge - bill walsh. The football bible. more football, but still a strong dose of the character you find in "the score takes care of it self". Its harder to find in physical form, but its some thing that will come up with a huge majority of coaches, and football nerds. Blood sweat and chalk - Tim layden. Its a very basic Xs and Os book. The real value is the coaching lineage put down, and the history given for the systems contained in it. Especially the spread variants, and option offense. The big book of Belichick - Alex kirby. The style of this book is very polarizing. Its word for word copied from countless years of interviews with Belichick. The best and most interesting questions and answers. It can be tough to slog through in a single go for some people. I was one of these people. But the insights on every thing from scouting, positional play, Xs and Os, teaching, management and more is incredible. Football scouting methods - Steve belichick. Before Bill belichick was the envy of coaches all over, his dad was considered the original scouting guru. This book is old (1962) so you have to go in prepared for that and be ready to take some stuff with a grain of salt. Its a whole new world today. But a lot of it, the core, holds true today. This is the Old testament version of the football bible. Guys with chest hair like this (and no interest in buttoning their shirts) have a 100% percent chance of hitting on your side line reporter. Ive never much liked al davis. But I allways respected the crap out of him for allways doing it his way and not letting fear of failure impact his actions. I wish I could have seen the old afl vs nfl superbowls. No one lets rivalry like that survive today in the pros.

In this day and age you should not trust any ones alleged ppv buys, box office $, dvd/book sales etc. Its all far too fudged. Some stuff the foreign market is drastically bigger then the us. Movies, like transformers for instance have made huge bank in china alone. That said mma isnt a draw like that atm in china. All I know and trust is, that ppv made a crap tillion dollars for a few guys. And the bald one makes most bad politicians look trust worthy.

I have trouble imagining that working out. first fight, he loses every one goes oh right durr. And the sales plummet. Only way he wins is if they give him the cm punk treatment and dig up a lowbie, and one thats a puncher at that. That said Id pay to watch him get smacked around. There is a particular face a person gets, an Oh $^&* moment. Happens the first time some one gets rocked with a head shot, a liver/body shot, a leg kick and put in a choke. The choke is easily the scariest of em all. No doubt hes gone through the head and body shot early in his younger days of training. I also dont doubt he would get some decent ground coach in who'd push his comfort level. But leg kicks are risky, I could see him not taking a hard leg kick in training.

grand parents might indeed work better. Hell ya to the mandalorians! I suspend my belief for laser cannons talking frog people and hokey super power religions Im willing to be flexible lol. Really I just wish for resolution in some great character story lines. Oh and wookie jedis, I wish for wookie jedi/sith. Also, Id love to see the next series work on different angles in the star wars universe. Sith/smuggler protagonist etc. I also have a huge nerd boner for the EU.
