  1. interesting. 1 left 1 week i guess. i would assume no padded practices during the bye weeks makes sense. actually we do have a no pads left apparently. its not that it isnt allowed its limited, we arent at the limit. lol inorite? I remember back in the day the team struggled bad for a couple games and richie had em out doing 2 days mid season.
  2. QFT I dont know any one that likes them. The only good thing about ESPN is PTI.
  3. No but there is some thing to it. There may be an ice dragon / dragon frozen in the wall, and there is a horn that would bring down the wall. Its murky as to which side the dragon would be on though.
  4. say what? the CBA has it that all practices are pads off? Im not by any means up on the cba etc but that doesnt sound at all right. Besides the fact it wouldnt be note worthy that we had a pads off practice this week if it was the norm. Lots of ways old school coaches used to punish guys. Wind sprints in bad weather, or just wind sprints for a long period of time. Gauntlet runs that never seem to end, returning to 2 a day practices (i suspect that isnt allowed mid season any more) cancelled days off, meetings that peel the paint off the walls etc. But to be honest the worst thing they could do to punish guys is make them watch the game a few more times. Dont think punishment is whats needed though. Gotta re sharpen the team, re focus, and re motivate em. Certainly do. Its why nichols and the starters have to start the last game. Cant rest em unless hurt. Its like a preseason game now. Keep the guys sharp and show them they are your guys. Theres a point in the game where you gotta protect him though, especially if hes getting hit like nichols was late in the game. 4th quarter should have been the hook.
  5. no joke. Never makes good use of his DI, same trick plays, same wr toss, running game is killing it so lets stop that etc. nichols is struggling a lot ol isnt as good as its been lets try hammering away the same stuff. Instead of rolling him out giving him some easy plays to build on etc. I dont think any one gets fired in the off season, but plop is the no1 guy id like to see gone between players and coaches. Say him try a couple times, dude is as high energy an OLmen as weve had in years. Love it. The team looked like some one kicked there dog after that first pick though.
  6. Certainly one of the least liked qbs in recent memory. Him and casey printers. Gotta hand it to him though he still has game left even at a zillion years old.
  7. That off side was a horribly blown class. The pass was poor and he made it close. He looked good. You dont think harris looked good? The line aside from neufie was good too. We shouldnt burn 2 di's on returners. Have fogg do both return jobs, and carry gurley. Di smith since there seems no chance we scratch him.
  8. should be, but a NI ol whose ever had a pulse can keep getting contracts till the body falls 100% a part. I sure hope this is the last weve seen of him in blue.
  9. Seems like we are coming away from this game healthy. Another week of the regular season to turn momentum around before the play offs and get healthier. The team got punched in the mouth today. And kicked while down. Gotta believe mos etc will be on these guys hard going into the last game of the week. No pads off practice this week. Nose the grind stone and try to get momentum going again headed into the play offs. The way a team bounces back after a loss like this says a lot about them and the staff. The blue collar, hard nosed guys who are positive locker room types really should help here too.
  10. 1 Andrew harris. over 100 total yards, on 15 (and counting) touches. 2 Darvin adams. Really played well especially early before the game was shot. 3 Travis bond. Hes had tons of great games to date, probably our best OL this year. HH doug brown and his half time ring of honor speech.
  11. this x1000. Dont want the top guys to get rusty but if any one has any nagging minor injuries its a great time to rest guys and go into the play offs at 100%.
  12. I dont think its time or age. he was over rated as a starter at best imop. But his teams play was really good, and mos loves his teamers.
  13. I heard about that lol. Pretty crazy if he did end up tossing one. He got all the blame for that collapse. Sure he messed up bad, but they were imploding well before and after that interference catch.
  14. thanks, great break down. I hope they take the DI that was used on flanders and use it on gurley. Love to see him rotated in especially in the red zone. Wonder if macho harris will make it back onto the active roster for his teams play / depth.
  15. And what are you basing that on? All the changes seemed to have rotated around injuries and players coming off the IR. When have we seen our systems and pieces change for a single game? We havent seen the ideology of the systems change with different co ordinators. What would you base it on? Our coaching staff doesnt bring in talent. But then denmark had monster games and then was sent to the bench for smith whose struggled all year. Is every team cutting candidates for rookie of the year? Which team has a side from us? By guys we kept you mean mayo on the pr? jace davis to be cut? Not flukes clearly, we have brought in boat loads of high talent players. Its a credit to the front office. But then we have DIs who get 0 plays or touches. players who are on fire who get benched or go halfs with few and far between touches etc. TC reports are given and done by none football personal. What would that have to do with how the football team is evaluating talent? Criticize me then throw out and in depth story based on nothing. Youd think as a former packer who followed him sooo close you would have noticed when he was released. You know wrs and sbs slide in and out through out the game especially in trip packages right? Or that he was moving for smith no ratio. Not that it matters where your NI lines up when your offense hardly looks at them. Perhaps you should count the posts of mine per page in this thread. Oh yeah, you mean when brady was a rookie and through 3 passes and bishop was a 2nd year guy who threw 9. Of the two who do you think is better suited to hold and sneak vs hold the clip board? Brady started the next year and bishop was gone. They saw the quality difference, dumped bishop and went with brady. There was plenty of talk of starting bishop in 2k out of the media. And yet they cut him and made brady no2. hmmmmm is that an example of poor talent recognition? lol
  16. Like denmark getting benched after his return? Cus ricky collins was clearly worse then the likes of jace davis and thomas mayo? Cus fogg is a vet? cus we didnt start rookie wrs at the start of the year? Thats not malarkey, thats poor recognition of talent. Matched with poor use of talent on the field.
  17. maybe waggoner at LBer for bass/burnett depending on if wild/mo are good to go. Or corney at the 2nd DE spot. Or more likely rotate waggoner corney and jake thomas. Course if he took the burnett spot part time or full time or if corney went in for cole id DI burnett/cole for rotational and teams use.
  18. On short yardage the size of that side shouldnt be that impactful. With the yard off the line its more about explosion / quick first step then raw size. Besides he tucks behind bond much of the time any way. The about or just under 20 pound difference between couture and chung sucks to lose at guard no doubt. Putting in a guy who was a turnstile before being hurt, now hasnt played or been practicing for 2/3 or so of the season seems worse. We have such strong NI depth on D, if we want to keep nichols in Id love to see us start the extra NI again and go with an extra imp on the OL. If we are going to be protective of nichols then going with either is a decent band aid. either way we should be using play action, and roll outs a plenty and nichols should keep his head on a swivel. And if he starts getting rocked like willy did toss in glenn we dont have that much to win out of the last two games. If it was the play offs right now, id go with 4 imp on the OL. doesnt matter who youve got for WRs or what system you run or whose your RB when defenders are in the back field.
  19. neufeld was serviceable previously as a starter. This year he was as bad as an OL gets. Between the two, couture has been healthy all year, doesnt have injury concerns and is in 100% game shape. He is a small guard though. Keeping was a starting center, if you can play center you can play guard its the easiest of the OL positions. Generally any one can slide in side and play guard. Kicking out and playing tackle where foot work on pass rushes, and the speed you line up against is a huge hurtle to over come. Guard you square off to a man. (in man schemes) At tackle you have to keep angle, not open your hips early etc. At center you may or may not have a tackle lined up over your nose, but your responsible for blitz pick up, setting the line, switches on twists and stunts, getting to the second level on running plays / zone plays when no one is on the nose, and when some one is on the nose you have to snap to the gun/pistol then be hit or hit some one. Couture needs work. And to get a bit stronger in the off season. But atleast with him, we have the ability to develop him into a high caliber starting NI OL. what are the chances we get that out of neufeld? If we see the best of how he played this year nichols/harris is in big trouble. We have 2 games to go and have clinched the play offs. Id be willing to give the young guy a chance to play, and either way if the OL becomes a turnstile again we can throw glenn to the dogs. I could see why youd say that. im a big fan of wylie. BUT remember the OL of the first 1/3rd of the season with neufeld while bond/hardrick sat on the PR/in active. Then remember some of the goofy roster decisions weve made, not starting the best pieces at each position. Then ricky collins too. Remember starting the season with macho harris as our saftey? We havent made strong personnel decisions to date.
  20. hate that decision. We better see the best neufeld weve seen this year.
  21. i just hope charlie sheen comes out dressed as rick vaughn to wild thing and throws an opening pitch in this series. thats my only hope.
  22. Yeah and with a play off spot clinched no need to rush him back. idk about politics but they have made some head scratching decisions with the roster so who knows.
  23. http://www.bluebombers.com/2016/10/24/219774 Point 3 on the list says the bombers expect darvin adams back at practice this week. So the question is where and how does he fit in? He was playing his best ball when hurt, certainly draws into the line up. Would love to go all IMP at wr, but I dont think we will start the extra nuck. Dressler is a lock, I think gurley gets more time to find his fit in the system, mcduffie is a DI and half of our return combo I dont see us having fogg start at DB and return kicks and punts so I think he stays in too. Denmark, adams, and smith for the final 2 imp spots with mcduffie the back up. The way hes played this year id sit smith. Hes young and well worth having around next year, but both denmark and adams have been much better. gurley dressler adams denmark and smith with mcduffie as the back up/returner/di. Man that would be nice though. Weve gone from a team that struggled to put together a wr core at points this year to having an embarrassment of riches.
  24. It would be. Even getting a real lead off hitter and moving JB to DH would help a bunch. The whole staff was. Would be good to bring in some veteran arms to compete in camp and push guys. And provide insurance incase we have some set backs.
  25. Also the jays are reportedly picking up the option of joe biagini. Who was not as good post all star as pre but was still one of the few strong consistent arms out of the the pen. and a great pick up over all.
