  1. Wonder if gurley is getting a call today. (unless he signed and i missed it) Isnt mcduffie still floating around FA too?
  2. wooooooooooow. I wish him the best moving forward.
  3. good or better offensive players, especially wrs make them self a part of the offense. Even if you are running the wrong side of the hot route on a rub pattern for instance, (setting the not a pick) you still have a chance to make a play depending on coverage and what the defense does. Its not like plop tells nichols, "hey dont pass to the ni guys, just the imps". Or like nichols would do that. Sure our system isnt set up for a stoddard esq under guy to eat up cushion and make plays under other guys patterns. Our whole passing offense is planned around 15 yards or so from the line. The guy running deep is more of a distraction then any thing. That means we need a NI wr to have the ability to get open and make a play. Ottawa using soo many pass catchers is what has made them successful. You cant float on one guy and cheat towards another. If you try to use vice cover with the saftey and a db you have no help on all the other guys. We dont have a top flight wr right now. But we have a bunch of solid imps. Imop we need a solid ni that fits the system to round it out. Not to mention you cant just accept going into camp with a wasted roster spot like we had last year. That would be like aiming to fail. There was a short bit of talk on the forums last year about running all imp at wr. Its some thing i like a great deal in theory. But due to health of our wrs/ how hard it is to stay healthy in football especially for 18 games, plus that we dont have much offensive NI versatility or the imp wrs to DI and rotate I dont think we are close to a position to do that.
  4. dont blame you at all xD
  5. some one is ready for a new season of trailer park boys.
  6. those are some impressive numbers. Hes a monster at OL. I love new generation OL like that. Even better is the fact that most of the time who ever he is lined up against ends the play looking up at him form their butt. 1a hope for him is a great pro bowl career in the nfl. 1b is a great allstar top NI career with the bombers.
  7. Despite lewis' size it isnt a good comparison. Nik lewis was a pro football player and fully developed as such before he blew up. Nik lewis is more like ron warner 2.0 then tony auclair 1.0. teyo johnson was a freak athlete who went to college as a qb, and wanted to be a qb. He switched positions to get on the field and was drafted and sought after because of a good year as a wr and his athletic ability. Auclair is a more natural football player but also at his position with inside slot / te. He was more trent corney at te, but was still a 2 sport athlete who was converted to football. Thats right too. Kohlert the td passing machine. Another could have been great NI qb gone to waste.
  8. yes i fully expect him to be in the nfl this year. how he performs at that level in camp is beyond guessing though. every cfl team uses an F slotback, the interior slot whose the one that will pitch in blocking on the edge more then youd think. He easily has the skill set to play inside slot in the cfl and be a full time pass catcher. last year our NI wrs combined for 44 catches on 67 attempts for 450 yards 2 tds and 1 play over 30 yards. 23 and change yards per game play offs included. .10 tds per game. auclair runs like a wr and has the tools for the position. The top 3 in this draft class could all do that them self.
  9. I think its 100% chance auclair will be in an nfl camp. Will he be in the cfl part way through this year or next year? Cant say for sure. If they were both gonna be in the cfl id take auclair. The difference between him and vandervoort/jfg blocking on run plays, pinching an end, and blocking on pass plays away from him is massive. Add in his miss match lining up against any defender especially in the redzone and you have a dream package guy. I think both would produce similarly at catching and yards.
  10. on =/= wearing xD they could start a moped club for big guys in the city. And wear sons of anarchy gear.
  11. 29 isnt a plan to replace the NI age. Not to mention there are 2 rbs that should be available with a depth pick that would be fantastic to round out our back depth and play teams. Plus our ni depth on D. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/bigten/2016/07/26/iowa-hawkeyes-faith-ekakitie-police-encounter-pokemon-go/87594188/ An interesting read and watch. I cant imagine a dude that big on a moped xD. In his case i think the description would have included the fact hes the size of a VW bug.
  12. that is a strange provision. I dont think ive ever seen a pending active play as a future out side of PTBNL, which is cash a huge percentage of the time.
  13. Probably right era inclusive wise. I should have included an * that I dont think there is any comparison to prospects that come out in the last 15 years to the previous 10 or so. Modern era wise Vandervoort seems head and shoulders more polished then any wr weve seen out of the cis.
  14. the usual seems to be a clause of if the player starts X number of games the trading team gets Y pick. but who knows could be a case of beer.
  15. I heard they actually had 10 more guys but they have learned from the 2016 season and improved the super secret roster. agree 100%. Maybe this will be in the cards over the next few years like how the draft became televised. They could atleast get some college AV kids and give them a gig and stream a show on cfl.ca/YT, Im sure duane forde etc could use the pay check.
  16. post of the month right here. I find it interesting they list 3 rbs and not ante litre. Even after augustines combine i think its 1a and 1b far more then vandervoort and behar.
  17. haha wow. jones living it up while it lasts. jade to be fair was built like a ballerina more then a football player when we picked him. gotta stop picking wrs out of regina lol. unless we convert them to punter.
  18. with 2 picks in the top 6, 3 ol and 3 wrs (+ ankou) who are strong prospects we are in a good position to get 2 of em. If we get one of the 4 linemen and 1 of the wrs thatd be pretty perfect in my books.
  19. What bb1 and floyd said. I could see BC taking him, but think they will go OL. No matter the focault trade. Unless the top 3 ol are sure fire gone to the nfl. I dont see him falling past the hammer. is that deal official now? I think vandervoort could probably start as a rookie for half the teams in the league. us included.
  20. Idk if vandervoort has the up side. Will really have to see him on the field in camp/pre season / action to see. He is the highly polished show ready low risk high reward type though. I have trouble seeing him come in and be less productive then jamie stoddards better seasons. 500 with 4tds. Seems like a real hard worker. Smart, and football guy too. I dont think weve seen as polished a wr come out of the cis before.
  21. planning how to get back into a position where he doesnt have to be bothered with such plebeian things as the combine.
  22. Not vernon davis, brock lesnar crazy but for a NI pretty close lol. Corney put up 4.69 40 4.15 shuttle, 38" vert, 10'2" broad jump and 34 reps. Id say auclair is far, far more polished as an offensive player then corney was as a DE.
  23. is that your 1on1 drill rankings? I didnt get to watch it all good to know i can go back n watch. Id love to end up with one of augustine or ante litre.
  24. Perhaps the most cfl ready. You can coach a guy and fix technique issues, but you cant teach speed. His speed may translate better to football then the 40. But over all mediocre at best run jump numbers kinda worry that he might max out at a jamie stoddard type player. Compare auclairs pro day numbers to vandervoorts. Auclair: 4.82 40, 4.33 shuttle, 7.28 3 cone, 33.5" vert, 9'9 broad jump, and 22 reps on the bench press. 6'5 256 Vandervoort: 4.73 40, 4.35 shuttle, 7.20 3 cone, 31.5" vert, 9'6 broad jump, 13 reps on the bench press. 6'1 203 http://3downnation.com/2017/03/13/antony-auclair-sees-17-nfl-teams-attend-pro-day-laval/
  25. I think in general a bunch of guys put up less then expected run/jump numbers. That combined with the guys who skipped, and of course the fact that not every one can put there best foot forward on 1-2 days between seasons, leaves you with more questions then answers from the combine. I dont think we get one of the top teir OL at 6, or vandervoort. If you go top 3 at each position, we would have it in our power to have 2 of auclair, vandervoort, behar, bladek, gray and woods. A side from who you want/dont want ideally, and who jumps to the nfl, that is a fantastic position to be in. I think behar, and auclair would have the best chances of being available at 6. Of course i dont think auclair is much of a chance to be in camp this year.
