  1. I dont believe it was ever reported that McAllister refused a PR spot. It was certainly speculated at on here but I never say it confirmed any where. If he was and refused at first it could be the grim reality of the situation has dawned on him. Not many guys go from cfl TC cut to NFL signee. He isnt getting younger, and every year another handful of guys just like him turn pro. Sucks about santiago but makes sense. Been an awful year for injuries. Surprised flanders didnt get the call. Friesen isnt worth wasting time on. Hope they are just resting.
  2. He probably thought that if he performed at a top level he would be elevated or maybe that the injuries would give him a couple games of opportunity.
  3. Didnt he call his own plays for a while here too as a starter? Buck is gonna get his shot at being an OC. Idk how he will do at putting together his own playbook or how much plop has influenced him but he is a good positional coach at worst.
  4. He particularly had 2 plays where he stepped up into the pocket and threw the ball down field with poise and authority it was a really great sign that he can turn the corner as a pro passer. He isnt a No1 guy yet, and doesnt have to be at his age. Id be happy if he was a no2 next year too.
  5. Pass rush is how you beat the pass in general but look at his oline too awful. Give me a competent play call and a 2 qb system between mbt and streveler.
  6. The refs have been letting waay too much of this stuff go. It needs to stop before some thing really ugly happens. He isn't bad by any means. He isn't great and he is incredibly raw for a guy his age. He has extraordinary tools though. And is producing well in probably the worst circumstance in the league right now.
  7. Not changed no. Need to see him continue to improve and the play calling has sucked. It wasn't good far too often with Nichols and Harris. With out them it hasn't adapted at all. Don't know if steveler is the qb of the future. But I hope he sticks around so we can find out. I don't feel like plop is the oc to stay with now more then ever. I do wish we still had MBT but who knows how he'd do in this system too
  8. Riderfans gonna be riderfans
  9. We need some one in the back field who can block, a better game plan and better tackling at three second level.
  10. The multiple holding calls on us and misses against them was infuriating. He did similar to what Nichols does. Enough to win but not enough to carry to a win. The play calling was poor most of the game that suicide pa screen for instance and Augustine's pass pro was awful.
  11. 1 WJ. Tons of pressure again today. 2 rose huge pick and two big break ups 3 lawlers 4 big catches. TD and two big first downs HH Augustine's 55 yard run
  12. Next man up approach and an angry bomber team rallying around it's missing leader with a bounce back game from streveler. 27-9
  13. Other teams run their offense through a RB too and can still put up 4th quarter first downs...
  14. It's both qb and oc. The problem isn't one dimensional. No wr is gonna look great in our system.
  15. Not his fault but yes. I can see him nominated possibly but he wont win sadly.
  16. he would start for more then a few teams first year. Its an investment thing. its not perfect but i bet he bounces back if he plays LD,
  17. Youre right as well. Though I think he was upset at becoming the interim HC its no excuse. You can hide that as a CO or position coach, cant do it as a HC.
  18. Nichols isnt more mop then harris. But the right harris to lead the mop race isnt trevor.
  19. No not that big, only if the team is running a 3-4. Plenty of pass rushers in the nfl in the 255 range. He would probably be a jack lber though.
  20. Was likely earning 100-150k imo. As speedflex pointed out between his time on the IR and release we probably save about half his contract, so yeah 50-75k. Which is about 1 first year contract for an imp. Put together a couple savings, like if nichols misses 6 games, nuefeld probably on the ir all year etc and we probably will save an easy 200k.
  21. Sacks arent a metric of success or failure for an OL. Its like batting average in baseball. For old/lazy people. You have a strong mobile qb who can and does avoid a lot of sacks. How has bond done since then? Oh right hes maybe the best OL on the best pass pro team in the league. With the leagues leading passer. Go look up the hurries. Bond was a stud here, and is a stud in edm. He wasnt a stud in sask because the line wasnt good, and you tried to use him as a tackle. 360 pound tackle in the cfl! 🤣
  22. Pretty much. Seemed like he over valued him self on the open market and after waiting we came together for a low risk high reward move. Didnt work out, and nows the best time to move on.
  23. Or how they cant pass up a chance to glad hand them self for being the center of the CFL. The RR fanbase attitude is the exact same as the "toronto is the center of the universe" group. Talent instantly recognizes genius where as mediocrity knows nothing higher then it self. The rider fan base, and their flunkies know nothing higher then them self.
  24. No bond and dennis where not put in any kind of position to succeed. It has nothing to do with the fans. I mean, you think the fishbowl of regina is any fraction as intense as Hs or colleges down south? It really isnt. Poor management of talent is all it is. I mean they signed the best guard in the league and tried to make him play tackle on a bad OL. And both the management and fans thought those one signings would take bad OLs and make them great over night. Thats not how it works. It took a while before we had a great OL even with bryant locking down blind side tackle.
