  1. He had a little counter culture / cult following there and in general. Lots of fans of teams disappointing even angry he was let go. Very good arm for sure. Not talking michael bishop arm strength, Well in the tier under that. Which is certainly strong enough to throw any pass you could want short of like 80+ yards.
  2. Allegedly ran a 4.21 40 in college, 4.35 is the fastest reputable time ive seen. http://www.newsadvance.com/news/local/vul-standout-chases-nfl-dream/article_4ce1b274-a192-11e3-a354-0017a43b2370.html A great read about him. A guy who out of HS had 30+ scholarship offers, but wasnt academically eligible. Ended up with a 3.2GPA in college. 15 pass deflections as a SR. Played wr, rb, qb, and KR in hs. Big versatile, fast, looks like a hard nosed player too.
  3. Yeah it is. Kinda dieter kinda danny mac with that release. The down field attacking, and throwing at tight windows is certainly old school qbing.
  4. Not bad college numbers but not great, 41-829-2tds 2009, 22-417-10tds 2008. GMC isnt exactly USC, but at his age and size im kind of baffled he hasnt warranted an nfl stint on prs at least. Looks good running out of the slot and wr, hands looks good too. In that clip really uses his hands well. Makes it look easy. Im astounded. His age, speed, size and hands.
  5. no kidding. Its rare to find a guy who kicks around the nfl that long with soo little ncaa experience. The nfl in the modern era puts the greatest importance on 4 year starters. This guy has like half of 1 college experience. It tends to make me think hes one of those guys who looks incredible in practice. I started watching his clips and thought this has to be sped up. But no, he just has an incredible, incredible release. Quick, clean footwork too. Shows nice touch down field, arm isnt outstanding but never seems to lack velocity when he throws a bullet pass even when under pressure. Accuracy isnt his strength. Would be more exciting if he was younger or had a decent amount of play in college/pro. I can certainly see why soo many teams have given him a shot though.
  6. Yeah we did. Lots of narrow last second victories.
  7. I think loffler is a threat to be the teams MOC. Especially if we see split touches with flanders or harris misses more time. Goossen as MOL? hes been the weak spot of the guys that currently start. He struggles still with switches and blitz pick up. Hasnt been especially good at opening up holes or scraping to the second level in the run game. Bond should get it, I wouldnt be surprised if it went to bryant. MOP Its a hard choice. Id probably go harris too, though we saw the same level of production out of flanders. I think BLM wins. MOC harris I think the leading rusher between harris and messam wins. MODP MO Mo is deserving but I think charleston hughes gets it. MOL bond Hard to say ive watched maybe half the cfl games the bombers havent played. bond is deserving. MOSTP medlock Banks and paredes will be a threat, but medlock should get it. MOR Fogg And fogg gets it. MOR fogg. I dont see us getting more then 2 awards. I think those will be fogg and medlock as rookie and teams.
  8. I like chape i hope he develops into a great hc, Id love to see the cis become a stronger grass roots development for cfl coaches.
  9. Theyve beaten bc for starters. And us. theyve won by 14,15,3,18,9,36,6,21,6,and 25. Most points scored, least allowed. Theyve scored 83 more points then us. Weve scored 91 more points then last place ssk. Calgary is a great team. We are good but dont know just how good we are yet. yeah those flags have been killing us.
  10. The hoggy hop. going full hog (get them some sponsorship from dennys whole hog). The happy hoggies.
  11. It feels like david vs goliath. 18 combined games won in a row, but calgary leads in points scores, and has the fewest points allowed. They protect the ball, force turn overs and protect the pocket very well. They run a diverse offense and look great in every facet. Weve had to fight for most of our wins, and shown amazing heart in the clutch. we havent played a full 4 quarters on either side of the ball. If we do I feel like our chances against calgary go way up. Theyve been on fire soo long itll be tough even for them to sustain. But for us as well. I feel like calgary is such a favorite over us a loss doesnt really cost us much momentum if we dont get blown out. Every team has a chance on game day, but do we stand more of a chance then that?
  12. and weve had an extended win streak under mos before. Heath sure, you can argue that. But i listed a ton of other times. Denmark, bond, hardrick, frederick, foketi, green etc. Yeah pretty much. I think the chances of us missing now are slim. And I think a cross over spot is more desirable then going through the west. But if we host a game, and rack up more wins im all in favor of it. Despite the win streak we still only pulled some 25k fans iirc against toronto. Its because we have a ton of play makers on that D. Our scheme is far from dynamic or "sexy". Even the more casual fans see us playing overly soft and passive as our base. That type of D may be as viable as the aggressive swaggerville style but it doesnt win any fan fare. Im in the camp wishing we'd be more agressive, on D and offense but the D has certainly been successful and our offense has gotten enough to win. Weve scraped scores in games we've dominated in terms of play. But the coaching staff does deserve a great deal of acclaim for sticking to their guns and making it work. We will have to see if its sustainable.
  13. id rather the riders finish 3rd from the bottom any how. Maybe then they keep jones going into next season and dont have the top pick in the draft again.
  14. weve had win streaks and flashes of turning the corner only to plummet back to sub mediocrity before under walters/oshea. The cart is a bit before the horse but not a lot. Imop, the talent walters has brought in has earned him another year or more easily. The team isnt as good as its win streak, but it clearly is much better then the early season struggles. Id be fine with him getting just about any term of extension. Last years draft top to bottom will probably be the best in team history by a huge margin. We found lots of good young guys from free agency too. Fogg, frederick, justin cole, bond, foketi, hardrick, etc. Mos is close, but I think we need to make the play offs for that to be fully earned. He still makes some funny decisions, doesnt put the best talent on the field, and is stuck on some really passive systems, and the team hasnt come close to playing 4 quarters of football. The win streak has certainly restored a good bit of the luster he had when he came here, and his teams have finally become arguably the best in the league. (best imop) hes the best HC we've had in IDK how long. Isnt afraid to have other former HCs on his staff and has his specialty in his gear. Its a good situation to be in, and certainly nothing is wrong with opening preliminary talks now. I am a little surprised we would do that tbh mid season. We seemed like the type of organization that would wait but nothing wrong with it.
  15. hes certainly earned an extension but he is far from one of the best HCs in the league. He continues to put in inferior line ups with better players off the field, makes questionable decisions and hasnt had the team play more then a half to 3/4 of the game. The passive offensive system is clearly what he wants run. All players on teams with win streaks are in the love boat. Challenges call comes from the spotters in the booth, cant give him more then half the credit for that. Weve still missed some clear challenges this year too. Hes a bright young coach and if he can continue to slowly improve he may find him self in the top tier. But he is well out side of that now. The win streak is still predicated on turn overs and play makers. And we havent even had the best play makers on the field. Denmark, frederick, heath, the first half of the seasons OL, etc.
  16. Hes run very well every chance hes gotten. tc pre season and today. In the cfl you dont often create holes to run through, aside from some counter trap type stuff. And a rb chopping / keeping his feet moving is a great thing. He was great the whole game Dont think he wasted one touch.
  17. We have to play a full 4 quarters on offense and defense against calgary.
  18. went into the drive with 104 according to OB, the score stats and cfl.ca stats
  19. flanders cleared 100 yards rushing before that series.
  20. Last time we scored over 40 points was the first week of 2014. Some thing like 47 games. extend our win streak to 7. The whole team should get 1 star. First star Weston dressler. Made a ton of big catches, Played physical and clutch ball. 8-93 1 rush for 5 yards. Second star Justin medlock. Come to expect him to kick 6 and nail every one. Third Star Tim flanders. 19-102 rushing 4-34 catching. Can you say 2 back system? HH Mcduffie finally getting us the return TD with out a penalty and it was seriously clutch. 4-23 catching, 3-169 and a td on kick offs. 56.3 yard average. honorable mention to The command center for reversing the call in the first on their own. (iirc frostys idea)
  21. Hes seen the field. With all our banged up imp wrs hes been on the only impact aside from that one catch ive seen was some blocks. Mos seems to love him. yep. Both looked pretty solid back there too. Richards is waaay too injury prone to put at rb. Id love to see normand get touches I think he can develop into some thing good. But then hes our only blocking fb. hes important on teams, goal line offense etc. We are allready thin at WR, and which NI do you take off for jfg? Just makes it easier for the D to key in on dressler and the other imp. Again you need an ni back up to an ni starter even if you rotate with other positions. Because if that rotation guy goes down you dont have the depth at the other position now and have to bench a more productive imp. Its a case of risking one of mcduffie, denmark, dressler, or sheppard on a guy like lochard or jfg.
  22. You have to have a NI back up for an NI starter. So if our back up lochard started, we would need another NI back up. Weve seen geoff drover go from wr to de, oline to d line in guys like matt sheridan and chris walby, Lbers go to rb/fb win wade miller and mike sellers. On top of seeing qbs kick and punt, line men play both ways, wrs play both ways etc. Jfg has been nearly invisible on offense. 5 less catches then games played. But hes a strong teams guy with the right build who runs hard with the ball. If any one has to switch to be a back up NI rb its him. Hes a former return man, and has the physical tool set.

should have left em hung up yeah. His last go around was brutal. I never really got it either. He had some impressive flashes and entertaining fights but i was never a fan of his. Agree you cant expect him to contend at his age. I really dont like seeing the super old guys fight. Its kinda sad and really dangerous.
