And yet the OL hasnt missed a beat and is arguably playing better then last years line. Despite the lack of cfl games played and continuity.
-
Being more versatile under the ratio doesnt make it better. Done nothing? Hes the starting guard for edmonton, who have given up the fewest sacks in the league by a mile, and have the leagues second leading rusher. He didnt stick in sask as they tried to convert him to a tackle and he isnt a tackle. Based on what? Bond was arguably our best OL neck and neck with bryant when he was here. The switch of hardrick to tackle and bond to guard took us from a poor OL giving up 10+ hit/pressures a game to going weeks with out any at all. Hes just not that good. He didnt dominate any one. He was a part of good lines at times, but his best contribution was the 6th ol. Not a starter. very good as a back up / 6th man. Solid as a guard. Not more then that. He was a massive pylon at tackle.

Same would be said for half the teams in the league who kept winning with back ups this year. Never know whatll happen till youre in that position. At the least we know with streveler we will be competitive. I just hope we arent bringing back alex ross.
-
Hes probably including mattys extensive ncaa and HS careers. Still 70s 80s 90s. Blink was tough as they come. But also loose. That makes a big difference. If you are stiff and get smashed youll be picking up the pieces for years.

Which prior to the bond era isnt saying much. And the best OL we had didnt have him starting. bryant bond goosen chungh and hardrick was hands down better then any combo involving neuf.
-
Wish we had brought back Mo and macallister. Though I suspect itll be griffiths, with more 3-4 over looks rushing a LBer off the edge, jake on the edge etc.
-
Id love to see us route some one and be able to get mcguire a few reps. He could be a good one.
-
Better then some of the options being bandied about, but not top of the list. Would be a solid/safe pick up.

I go in expecting a split every year.
-
The foot was off the gas in the last 2 weeks of the regular season too though.
-
Yeah. Qbs are a lot more pro ready now then in the past but its still a surprise. More qbs are more athletic, more college systems are using offenses similar to the cfl etc.
-
The year the streak ends for us. The qb injuries have been nightmarish for the league. Its a miracle that soo many young guys have played soo well.
-
Got em for peanuts. Good guy as a 6th man. Great team guy. Average guard, awful tackle. Seen him whiff and get monstered way too many times.
-
He was supposed to be ready for the first pre season game, then the start of the regular season. Then nadda.
-
Presser is gonna say he is a great competitor, the team isnt going to rush him back and its day to day with an upper body injury.
-
Thats true, the average wonderlic score in the NFL is inline with surgeons. That said, in the modern game you have to be strong and most importantly tough. Both physically and mentally tough.
-
Streveler and Reilly have freakish outlier strength that is well beyond diminishing returns for a qb. Both are still short of the god of all work out qbs, michael bishop. But then Tee martin had monstrous strength as well. (youd think he was a DL watching him hit weights) Nichols is physically tougher then most qbs. Nichols has never been a well polished athlete, if he wasnt a qb he wouldnt be a pro athlete. But with his mobility and being on the wrong side of 30 I dont see him gaining much use from refining much more.

It’s time to hand the ball to Kevin Glenn

Those werent on the money though, 2 were deep balls thrown behind wrs making them have to one stop and the other slow and try to catch against their momentum. It is as you said though, a tiny sample size. On a sample size 2 to 3 times larger darvin adams is the best passer on our team. You can go back to the post season games and previous seasons and see more of the same from nichols. Guys stopping coming back to make catches on what would be easy TDs if hit in stride. -
That is indeed a good sign for his arm then.
-
Could have a brace instead of a sling.
-
He did. He moved positions a LOT with the vols. Pretty much a new spot each year. His pass rush inside and on the edge are much more polished then I ever expected. His motor is great too. Hes constantly in on the back end of plays and I havent seen him pull up in a trot once, when some one leaves the tackle box.
-
He said Thursday, but didn't say which month or year. Secretive as always. Nuef will be ready for the start of the regular season too... in 2022.
-
Thatd probably be the healthiest he has ever been in a bomber jersey.
-
What has really impressed me is his ability to pass rush against interior linemen aswell. Both lining up in side and twisting to the inside. That opens up tons of options. Rogers fills the foketi 3.0 role. Though I think gray is going to be a tackle at some point.

Both willy and bridge are below other available options imo
