  1. Im just glad we didnt bring back michael bishop...
  2. I have this awful, crushing feeling going into sundays game. Its like deja vue all over again. Brb gonna get sick.
  3. actually id take him as a cfl scout or a us talent scout. Similar to danny mac's role. Taman was awful with scouting canadian talent, and trading (pics) but he did bring up some good american talent. That said i dont think itll happen. I think he will be out of the cfl for the rest of the year and maybe next waiting for another GM job to open up. Maybe ott brings him in since they have little use of him that seems to be how they work.
  4. Why would you think we have no one capable of playing Nose? Id have to double check to be 100% sure, but i am as certain as i can be with out doing that, that all our DTs have been DTs in 4-3 defense and not a NT in a 3-4 D. Its not only a different position entirely then 4-3 dt, its the key stone of a 3-4. I think bryant turner would be pretty good at playing a 3-4 DE.
  5. Rain of frogs is the last sign that the riders catch and pass us in the standings this year.
  6. Why would we make a whole sale change to our D like this when its been improving and leave the offense alone? I Dont think we have a nose tackle, and between that and the alignment it could take our one good pass rusher out of the back field.
  7. Vanilla vs vanilla flavored poop. I would rather see davis, or nichols start. What does it matter if you know the system when you cant execute it at the most basic level? Id bring back portis if hes just sittin around rather then put brohm back in there. Hell Id throw buck pierce in and i thought he was awful here xD
  8. I wonder where taman goes. Im not sure i see a spot as a GM for him in the cfl next year.
  9. I love his talent, and would have taken him at that point. But with the issues hes had in the locker room i cant blame any one for passing on him.
  10. i was soo excited when i read the thread title >.>
  11. a couple studs on the DL could transform this defense from decent to great... a pass rusher to play opposite of Westerman and a solid interior lineman... And that wont matter when we struggle to score 8 points. Weve got badily broken schemes all over the place. Especially on offense though. As i said, pieces to impove would be nice. At any spot of need. But a couple nfl cuts arent going to fix whats going wrong here.
  12. Normally im all for air lifts. But i dont think we are gonna find what we need to fix this team down south. Hunt or a good DE to play opposite westerman would be nice, a stud lineman would be good. And our usual next years TC projects wouldnt be bad moves.
  13. The D has been coming around fairly well the last hand full of weeks. especially considering weve gone into some games with very little chance of winning. MB on the other hand should be drawing his last pay days as a OC in the cfl, i dont expect miracles, but i think MB is a real negative even with willy in.
  14. This is true, but a QB can have a big impact on that out side of the OL. release, a qb thats more prone to scrambling, those numbers could be skewed as a pure reference to the OL. But are certainly very important to the over all pefomance of the OL.
  15. NI O linemen are like left handed relief pichers in baseball. As long as they have 2 feet and a heart beat someone will give em a shot.
  16. Id rather see us stick an olineman back to return kicks then either of those guys. I like washington as a player, but both of these guys are keith stokes at best returning the ball.
  17. thats a really interesting spread sheet. The 2nd column, 2nd and short conversions is really the killer of our offense atm. Im not sure how much of that is OL and how much is play calling. Not to mention a couple blow outs that leave us chucking instead of establishing drives.
  18. At this point i dont expect to ever see either of these guys or muamba in blue.(again) Hard as it is, since any or all of these guys would be game breaking/franchise changing, i hope them the best. Id love to see them in pro bowl games making headlines. It makes the canadian pipe line soo much better and brings much better talent to the league. Just look at how drastic the NI pool has improved in the last 10 years.
  19. Id take him in a heart beat. But its more fun to talk about long done players that we will never see. Bring Back Mike Sellers! Willie Reaves is still in pretty good shape... wade miller comming down from the office but dont call it a come back! Taman would demand a couple neglisters to prolly. That would be a crazy spot to be in with all the Rbs once cotton is healthy. They would probably try to squeeze them all in to the roster too, and not use any of them well.
  20. Id take him in a heart beat. But its more fun to talk about long done players that we will never see. Bring Back Mike Sellers!
  21. If we are looking at a retread... Korey Sheets would be my first choice of these three... I bet charles roberts is in almost the exact same shape as he played in...
  22. thats pretty impressive for some one with average strength...
  23. I hate this side of sports. I doubt popp fired higgins to save his own job. I doubt even media/fan demands to win now prompted it. Smells to me of popp thinking he can actually turn it around. Since trestman left they have been a circus in the coaching ranks. The als arent even a terrible team. They have several good young pieces to build around. They arent 100% out of it like the riders are, and could be a very good team with building this year and a good off season. I hate the premature firing of coaches. Higgins is a good cfl mind. He isnt don mathews or wally buono. Hes not my favorite coach by any means, but he is a guy you can build a winning team with. If you trust in him enough to hire him, and go about the hiring process properly you shouldnt need to fire a guy mid season. (unless he goes nuke mode) Give the guy a chance give the young players a chance and build on it. The als where a dominant force in the cfl. And I think the best thing to happen to the cfl in the 2000s. Soo much of our NI talent in this league is out of QB. Teams like laval raised their level to a point it forced other teams in the cis to match. Rebuilds dont have to happen over night, and you dont have to tear down good pieces just to start over. Im sure higgins will land on his feat. Would have him back working for the league to sort out some of the rule changes any day of the week. Wonder if this is where plop will go.
  24. any OL not named chung or bryant. Though i think all three co ordinators are the biggest problem.
